Description of Work: Repaired a leak in a gas line to fireplace. Installed a gas burner pipe I purchased in the firebox to replace the old one. | |The leak was behind paneling which they had to cut through and then they replaced the paneling with a metal door. The door did not cover the hole they cut and they had to come back another day to replace it. They left a large hole outside of the door that I had to repair on my own. Because of a late start near a weekend we had to go five days without gas being turned back on. We had to make several phone calls to get the job finished. | |I liked the information we got from the owner who came to set up the job, but the follow through was not as pleasant. | | |

Unfortunately this was a job through a third party contractor, not an excuse, but it is difficult when there are too many "cooks in the kitchen". Due to the location of the piping (it was a wall furnace) it was difficult to access the gas leak. If memory serves me, the codes had changed and it was required to make the gas shut-off valve more easily operated. The cosmestic work should have been handled by the contractor. Our scope of work was to bring the heater up to code, and supply the permits. As for how long the job took, we are at the mercy of the city when it comes to scheduling the inspections. Regardless of the aforementioned, I am sorry we were unable to impress. Thank you for the review and I will continue to work hard to improve how we perform. As I have stated before, we are here for you, the customer. I count on these reviews to keep us on our toes, so to speak, and to continually improve. Thank you. Will Shilling
