Description of Work: Locate blockage in sewer pipe. I had a blockage in my sewer line, but before attempting to fix it, I had to determine whether the blockage was on my property or SAWS, because SAWS takes responsibility for any problems on their property and will reimburse the homeowner for any related costs; and that is why I called Will's. The company responded quickly, but from the beginning, there was an apparent misunderstanding between what I wanted, and what the contractor was actually doing. The technician was very prompt, courteous, and worked diligently to locate the problem. Ultimately the location of the blockage was on SAWS property, so I did not have to pay for a repair, only for the assessment (which SAWS reimbursed). Because of the nature of my request (to determine whether blockage was on my property or on SAWS'), I do think the service could have gone a bit smoother. The technician first set up the electric Drum Machine (snake) at the cleanout. I explained that I first wanted to locate the blockage using the scope, but he said it would be better to try to clear it first since the video image is very cloudy when the pipe is full. The only problem with that is that if a blockage is cleared, there is no way to know who's property it is on, mine or SAWS' and I would get stuck with the bill. So eventually he made three passes with the snake, each taking about 30 - 40 minutes for a 50 foot run, encountering an impassible blockage at the same distance each time. He wanted to do a fourth pass, but I implored him to please take a measurement with the scope. He did that fairly quickly and marked the location. However he only had white spray paint, and SAWS will not respond to the blockage unless it is marked in green paint. Luckily, my employer has plenty, so I was able to come back later and spray over green the white markings myself. The technician was very skilled and did what he did well; but it clear from the outset that we had a fundamental misunderstanding. I wanted the problem located, the contractor wanted to clear it. The contractor should be familiar with SAWS' requirements and should design their procedure toward locating the problem first, before attempting to clear it. This appointment required me to take several hours off work; but the actual resolution to my problem (running the scope through the pipe) only took about 30 minutes. The other two hours seemed, in this situation, unnecessary. I do give Will's and the technician high marks overall, but would like to see them review this type of call-out to see how service can be improved.

Description of Work: We received excellent timely service for repair of a fireplace gas valve leak. They found an additional leak, and we now have peace of mind. The technicians were polite and knowledgeable. Would definitely hire again!!
