The price was a lot more then I would like to pay but I had to get my toilet fixed. The scheduling was a good experience but I would of liked to pay a little less then what I paid. He diagnosed the problem promptly and even determined that the local plumber we had used had misconnected the hot and cold water lines which was part of the problem. He corrected the former plumber's mistake, then repaired the 2 units. He also gave us great advice on the maintenance and continued care for our units. Anthony knows his business and always has always has or finds a solution to the problems. The price for his services included a 3 hr. round-trip from San Antonio, so, overall, I think the charges were more than fair. We always call Will's Plumbing and Testing for they are the pros in dealing with Rinnai water heaters. Anthony is so knowledgeable.

I was very disappointed. I did not like his attitude. The owner told him to give me a 5% discount and the plumber told me that was going to come out of his check, so I told him to just forget it. He was on time. He did not have the equipment he needed.

 + -1 moreI called Will's Plumbing a week before returning to San Antonio to set up an appointment for a plumbing quote that included moving a water heater and connecting gas for a dryer. I gave them a choice of two times: the next Friday at 1 p.m. or Monday at 9 a.m. because I was driving in from Houston. I was very specific about what work that I needed. I was told someone would call back. I never heard. A week after the initial call while driving in from Houston, I got a call saying they were on their way to do plumbing work at 10 a.m. I told them I would not arrive until 1 p.m. and the appointment was for a quote. They called back at noon and asked if I had arrived. I said no and reminded him the appointment was for 1 p.m. They called back 20 minutes later and said there would be a charge of $39.95. The contractor arrived at 1:20 p.m. Another contractor was already there estimating the job as well. Their plumber barely listened, did not quote the complete job and was unable to say how he would resolve many issues with the job. He turned in a quote lacking detail that was over double any other quote. His unprofessional behavior was highlighted by the very competent competition quoting at the same time. For this I was charged $39.95. If you have serious plumbing work, don't bother. These guys are amateurs. UPDATE 10.12.12 The refund was issued!

He was very pleasant, explained things well, and did a great job or finding and fixing the problems. The slow drain was fixed quickly. He found what ended up being a major leak in the wall behind the shower head and was able to fix it, and recommend how to move forward with repairing the damage to the wall. Will use them again for sure. :

 + 0 moreThe extreme Texas drought had caused the foundation to shift under our recently purchased home and we suspected trouble. Fortunately, the foundation repair company who did the original work honored their "lifetime" warranty, even though the previous owners had not transferred it properly (but that's a different story.) They took several measurements and determined that the foundation had probably shifted enough to damage drain lines beneath the foundation. They suggested we have the water supply and drain lines tested for leakage. After reviewing Angie's List for reputable plumbers in the San Antonio area, we hired Will's Plumbing to perform a hydrostatic test of the drain lines. They scheduled a service call immediately and confirmed the drain lines were leaking. We scheduled a follow-up visit. Will's crew pinpointed the source of the leak with a remote camera, sketched the location of the three drain line breaks, and recommended tunneling under the foundation to repair the broken lines. We immediately stopped using the shower, sink, and toilet serviced by that portion of the drain and waited five months for the soil to dry and the foundation to stabilize. Once the foundation company confirmed that the soil under that part of the house was no longer shifting due to excessive moisture, we scheduled the excavation. Will's Plumbing acquired all necessary permits for us, tunneled under the house 30 feet to reach the three broken drain lines, carefully avoiding damage to a maze of irrigation lines, gas lines, pipes serving the in-ground pool, and the pool deck area. Once the breaks were exposed, they repaired the lines quickly and pressure-tested the repairs. When the city engineer continued delaying final inspection, Will's Plumbing persisted in arranging final close out of the excavation. Once all work was approved by the city, Will's crew filled the tunnel and cleaned up the debris. The master bathroom is now in working order and household harmony is restored.
Description of Work: Will's Plumbing performed a hydrostatic test of the drain lines, confirmed they were leaking, identified the source of the leak using a remote camera, and tunneled 30 feet under the foundation of the house to repair three broken drain lines.

They were willing to come out that night, but being late I turned off the water to the house after bath time and they were at my door bright and early Sunday morning. the technicians found the problem straight away. They also found the easiest and most economical way to get at the problem without causing me more problems for wall repair. They were clean, courteous, and proficient.  + -1 moreOkay...Wow! I called Will's becasue we had a major leak under our house from the main water line. I called at 7:30 in the morning, spoke with Roger, who was very nice and courteous when taking all my information. He gave me all the information I needed about what to expect from the repairman when he arrived and quoted an arrival window between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Fine. Not 30 minutes later, I get a call from Roger telling me that he has a repairman available and could he come to the house now. Sure. Fine. In 10 minutes, Ronnie & Marc showed up. Introduced themselves, listened to what I had to tell them and got to work finding the exact problem. Turns out we had a leak in the main water line coming into the house and it needed to be repaired. Ronnie sat down, drew a diagram to show me what the problem was and how he planned to fix it. Instead of replacing the existing setup, he re-routed the line to keep in from happening again. Then he gave me the estimate. I received a 10% discount for going thorugh Angie's List to find them. Awesome. They did not have one part which they had to leave to get and by 9:30 were back and working on the repair. They finished in an hour. They even gave me estimates on other items I needed to have repaired in the future. All very reasonable...do-able. They left the job sight clean with minimal damage to the front lawn since some escavation was required. I would say I now have a plumber on speed dial I can call to get things fixed when needed. Thank you Will's Plumbing. Ronnie & Marc were AWESOME!

Description of Work: Although Angie's List says that it weighs reports of completed service more strongly than those not completed, it is essential that this information be provided. In response to an e-mail of last night, a representative of the company called me to schedule a service call. I asked what the basis for charges might be in such circumstances as I described; I was told that there was a service call charge of $39.95, waived if I hired the company to do the work seen to be required, but that he, the representative, could not quote a price on a job not yet evaluated. I said that I understood completely and had not asked him for a price but for the basis for charges, which are two quite different things. He said that they charged by the job and not by the hour and that there was no way to set a price on the phone without having seen the situation. Clearly, this representative either did not understand what I was asking him or did not want to answer the question. The variation in what Angie's List members report having paid for jobs that sound at least categorically similar is substantial enough to make the question I asked quite reasonable, at least as far as I am concerned. If they do not charge for the time spent, perhaps they are doing something similar to auto repair places that use the "flat-rate" approach, which means that a customer pays a certain amount for a certain repair whether it takes five minutes or an hour. So how are charges determined at Will's? Does the technician take a look and then pull a price out of the air? If there is a 2012 Lexus in the driveway, will he quote a higher price than if a beat-up '87 Ford on blocks is there? The system is either based on some logical factors or it is arbitrary. All I asked was to know how they do it. The representative would not tell me, so I will not hire them. 10/1/12 Update: An individual who identified himself as Will Shilling called me on September 19 to express disappointment at what I had reported. He said they charged by the job in similar fashion to auto repair "flat-rate" charges. I explained that the person I talked to did not go beyond saying that charges were based upon the job. He did not, for example, offer to quote several sorts of jobs that what I had described might warrant, along with the prices for those jobs, to give me at least a ball-park idea of what I would have to pay if I hired them. This seems especially urgent when a potential customer has to pay a trip fee of $39.95 right off the top. Given that this company charges that way, it should be but a minor problem for them to publish a list of jobs and what they charge to do them. Then everyone would know in advance what to expect for this or that kind of work. Mr. Shilling said that he would make sure that the fellow I spoke with was better prepared to deal with customers on the phone. I told him that this was fine, but that still did not solve the issue of how a potential customer was to know the basis for charging, unless they became more communicative about that. Just saying, "We charge by the job," doesn't tell anyone anything about actual pricing. I also said that the company I finally used--I told him who it was--did not charge for a service call but were pleased to investigate, quote a price for resolving the issue, and then, if hired, do the work and collect the fee. He said that it was expensive sending trucks and technicians out, and that he had to charge for it. Unless the other company gets free gasoline and donated tech time, they face the same costs, too. I am sorry to say, this call from Will's did not resolve much of anything substantive, although his taking the trouble to make the call does show the impact of Angie's List.

 + -1 moreI stated that this began as a leak from my foundation in the master bathroom. I could have only repaired this single leak. However, since this plumbing job involved making holes in the drywall to access the plumbing manifolds, and rerouting the water from the foundation through the walls and ceiling to the master bathroom, common bathroom, and the laundry room. I decided to reroute all the water lines to avoid have to tear up the drywall if another leak developed in the future. What I liked about Will Plumbing, is that they were competitively priced (they ended up price matching) and of the four companies that provided estimates, Anthony did the best job explaining the work that needed to be done. As the plumber, and his helper worked, they cleaned up as they went. At the end of the day, they even offered to mop. I was a messy job, but they did leave a mess. This job was throughly expained to me before the work began. was done timely, and neatly.

 + -1 moreI first called Will's Plumbing at 8:30 am after searching through Angie's List. Jeff and Charlie were able to come about 30 minutes earlier than they originally scheduled, and finished the water line work in about 30 min (important since I had to shut off the water when I discovered the leak, which impeded morning family-get-to-activity-rituals). Since they were there, I asked about installing the water softener. They were able to do so, though it ended up being a little more plumbing work than originally thought. Jeff gave me some good things to think about concerning water softeners that will save me money in the future. Bottomline: went from initial call to water back on in about 2 hrs, and had softened water about 2 hrs later, for what I think is a reasonable price. I would highly recommend Will's Plumbing.
Description of Work: Replaced 4' of copper hot water line in the atti where a hole leaked water all night. Installed a water softener I bought at Costc, which included removing the broke Culligan water softener, and some plumbing necessary to remove the welded-on Culligan attachment, re-thread the 1" pipes, and run flex-hose. $250 for the water line replacement, $270 for the water softener. Included a 10% discount for Angie's List members.

Description of Work: Performed pin point and locate procedure on home potable h20 system. They found a 3/4" line that feeds the cold side of the kitchen faucet line that was leaking into the slab foundation. This came from a manifold located in wall behind H20 heater in closet. They eliminated line from system and will relocate and re-route line over feed on August 15.

 + -1 moreIan and Marc arrived and checked every aspect of the plumbing in our home we just recently moved into since we seemed to be having noticeable fluctuations in the water pressure. We also wanted to check everything beyond the general home inspection we had before we moved in. They took the time to explain the items inside and out of the house and tested everything. After all was tested, no major problems were found. We did find out that the PRV (pressure regulator valve) was not able to be adjusted up or down, but was set within the required pressure range. They gave me a quote for the PRV replacement which we will have them do in the near future when we perform other updates to the home. Having moved here from the East coast, it was nice to learn the differences we will encounter with the plumbing here in Texas. Thanks guys! We have found a new plumber!

We called Will's Plumbing late Tuesday morning (after seeing their great Angie's List reviews) and they came Tuesday afternoon. Their tech called to tell us they were in route. Within ten minutes they had located the leak - ended up it was coming from a small hole in our copper pipes in the laundry room. Ronnie and Marc showed us the leak and explained their process for resolution. They gave us an estimate (including our Angie's List discount) before they began the work. Within 45 mintues they had replaced a section of our pipes and cleaned up. Ronnie and Marc were customer focused and provided great communication throughout the process.  + 0 moreWater leak was noted in the water heater closet this morning. Will's Plumbing was called after reading reviews on Angie's List. Telephone was answered promptly and courteously. An appointment was made for the same day at noon. Plumber arrived on time. He was very professional as well. He quickly found the problem and gave me a firm quote. He did not have the parts in his truck so he made a quick trip to the shop. Upon returning, he completed the necessary repairs quickly. He then tested my water pressure and found it to be quite high and recommended additional work to correct this. He provided me with a price quote on that job as well.Overall, the entire experience was quite satisfactory. My only complaint would be that the price seemed relatively high, but I am not used to paying for plumbing repairs so this may actually be in the ballpark.
