Unified Painting

Unified Painting, owned by Lawrence Schudy, is excellent. He did a splendid job on everything he's been able to get to so far. The only thing left is the dining room. He is excellent at what he does. Seeing his work helped me to see the different between a great paint job and a bad paint job when I started comparing it to the previous painting done by the prior owner of the home. Lawrence's lines are perfect. He is very careful about/with and attentive to his work. He is professional and clearly takes pride in doing a good job. I'd definitely here him again. My only complaint is his timeliness. It's hard to get him and and know when he will show up until he calls to say today is the day and the time he will be there. However, even then, it apparently takes him longer to complete a job sometimes than what he originally thinks. I would suggest, therefore, that you get him as the first appointment. When we did that, he was there bright and early just like he said. We like him and we are thoroughly satisfied with his work. I don't think you'll find a better painter. Because of the intricacies of the painting, the original painting was twice as much as I'd planned to pay since I had an Angie's List deal, but I understood the additional cost. So, for the accent wall with shelving and the island, it was a total of $210. For the Office with books shelves and double tray ceiling, it took about 8-9 hours for a cost of $400 (he threw in the white paint for the ceiling since he had some and we didn't). He charged $85 for removing, patching, and painting each tv bracket ($170).

I would hire them again in a heartbeat. High Quality work, great attention to detail and a keep focus on what we wanted done. Suggested the best paint and made it all happen quickly. They also did some baseboard painting in another room and cleaned up someone else's mess. Very happy with their work.

Lawrence came by my home on the previous Sunday to give me a quote. I did not already have the paint (although I had picked out a Behr paint color per his instruction), so Lawrence went and ordered, paid and got me his discount at Home Depot! I told him I was hoping to get it done soon as I just moved into my home and wanted to get the crazy paint colors covered before buying furniture for all the rooms to make it easier for him. He was able to come the following Thursday. He showed up at 4:00pm as scheduled and was completely done with all 3 rooms (including 3 coats to the ceiling in one room) and all clean up by 7:30pm. He and his crew left the rooms in perfect condition, with all doors re-hung and faceplates for plug ins back in place. All the lines and taping were perfectly straight and the rooms look gorgeous! I had him give me a quote for the rest of the main floor to get rid of the color there. I will definitely be using Unique Painting again for painting service and they were so professional, I will probably use them for power washing in the spring as well. He required no money up front and even paid for the paint out of pocket before any money went from me to him. I paid him in full for labor and paint after all the painting was done and had walked through all rooms, satisfied with the work (elated is more like it)! Highly recommend!!

It went very well. I tried to get him to come out the day prior but he wasn't able to due to a job that took longer than expected. Lawrence and his crew of two (Luis and Anthony) arrived at approximately 220PM and were done with the room by 330PM. It was a smooth operation. After the room was painted, they set up fans to help the paint dry and to see if any areas needed touching up. Only a couple of places and I actually said it was ok and to not worry about it, but they insisted that it be taken care of. Awesome job!

Lawrence's painting team is one of the best in town. His cost estimate was very detailed and accurate. He provided me with 20% discount for the paints from Home Depot, and his team, 4 very experienced and nice painters, worked almost 12 hours a day to finish the job perfectly and quickly. Lawrence himself also fixed some bad paint work on my front-entry door, which was done by a different painter I hired before. And he didn't charge me a penny for that!

Contractor didn't call me till 3 days later - I'd already done the room myself. I sent him an email immediately following my Angie's List purchase letting him know I was anxious to schedule as I needed the work done in the next two days. He said he doesn't check his email and that I should have called him. I guess he doesn't get notified by Angie's List when someone has purchased his services??? He said I would get a refund since the work was not done and no longer needed but I didn't.

Outstanding. Painting team was very professional. Prep was thorough with tape and removing electrical outlet plates. Two coats were done with valspar reserve paint provided by me. Team made sure area was kept clean and no spills. Team arrived on time and were well organized.

They did a very good job; arrived on time, quick set up, very professional. They finished two rooms in less than four hours, cleaned up, and were gone. Definitely will use them again, and recommend them to anyone.

Very prompt in returning my calls and scheduling work. Arrived in mid afternoon with crew of 3 and were done by dinnertime. Pricepoint was reasonable for work done and were very professional. Would recommend them for similar work.

Conscientious, Truly Professional, Great Job! In two days, the team completed work in four rooms. They removed popcorn, repaired, textured and painted ceilings; painted walls, trim and doors; and installed and painted baseboards. They did great work, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Lawrence manages the team of professionals very well- always one step ahead in assigning tasks so work flows seamlessly and is completed as quickly as possible. The team demonstrated good attention to detail and produced high quality work. They were personable and pleasant to work with, and seemed to take pride in and enjoy their work. (Lawrence made great suggestions for paint, and passed along his discount on the purchase.) Overall, with this company I experienced a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. This was a wonderful example of quality work, exceeding expectations- VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks, for taking such good care of us- we’ll enjoy the work you did on our home for years to come!

Awesome. Unified Painting was able to come out and complete the job the day I called. They did an outstanding job, painting the walls and ceiling of a media room. They were very friendly and professional.

called unified 2-3 times and spoke with owner regarding coming to my home for a estimate on interior painting. he ask for directions both times and i gave him detailed directions to my home. said he would come out one evening and would call before he came. never called ! i guess the SUPER CUSTOMER AWARD WENT TO HIS HEAD.

I attempted to contact this provider via Angie's list twice. Once on May 26 and again on June 15. I never received a response. I pay for the Angie's List service to find good quality providers and am disheartened to be ignored by an "Angie approved" provider.

As I gush on and on about how awesome Lawrence and his team are, you will probably think that I am one of his relatives. "Nobody is that amazing," you will say to yourself. But you will be wrong. Last month, I flew into San Antonio to help my parents get their house ready to sell. I found Unified Painting through Angie's List and the reviews were all glowing. I called Lawrence and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. In going through the house, Lawrence really listened to what I wanted and helped me determine which projects would be priorities, where I could save and where I should spend for the house to look its best. The stucco outside of the house had not been completely painted (only touch-ups here and there) in 20 years. There was no left-over original paint. Sun and exposure had changed the color in different ways in different places around the exterior. And we did not want to pay to paint the entire outside of the house. What a nightmare situation for a painter! But Lawrence spent hours getting the colors just right. He has a great eye for color matching and, frankly, has an incredible amount of patience for doing a job the right way. When he says, "I try to paint somebody else's house the way I would paint my own," I believe him. He did all the work we discussed for a great price and on time. (Oops, I should have mentioned before that I got estimates from 2 other painters before hiring Lawrence.) I had asked him to paint over some wallpaper (not a fun job) and it turned out beautifully. Then we added on two extra interior projects and he got those two done two days ahead of schedule! He and the team worked neatly and left their work areas as clean (who am I kidding? Cleaner! They left things cleaner) than they were when they started. All the guys on the team were friendly and Lawrence himself is just a really good, sweet person. My biggest regret is that Unified Painting is in Texas. The work done, I flew home to Pennsylvania and looked at my own house. I need a good painter and wish I could call Lawrence and the guys! I'll have to check out Angie's List for local painters. It certainly served me well in San Antonio. Lawrence, thanks a million! The house looks fabulous and there was already an offer on it yesterday--after about one week on the market! (Our realtor watched the transformation unfold and now loves Unified Painting. She says that she will recommend it to all her clients!)

Lawrence and his guys were great. They picked up the paint, showed up on time, moved all my furniture in and out of the rooms being painted, and surprisingly were able to knock it out in one day. The job was done perfectly, and everyone was very courteous and professional. I can't recommend them highly enough. Top notch. I'll definitely be using them again for the rest of the house.

Lawrence is a true gem and a blessing! He responded very quickly to my request for a quote to fix poor workmanship from a previous contractor. He took detailed notes as we walked through each room and before leaving all was listed as a complete comprehensive written quote. He has great ideas and pointed out the importance of matching baseboard and ceiling colors so all would blend well. We agreed on a starting date and time and he arrived punctual and ready to go. He allowed me to use his discount for the paint at Home Depo and told me the right amount of painted needed to avoid waste. He brings his own professional crew who all very conscious and did a great job. Every day they put plastic around where needed and cleaned up so as not to leave any mess. Lawrence told me upfront how long it would take and actually finished a day and a half earlier. His prices were fair and he did extra things I asked without charging me for them. So rare to find someone like him. I will use him again and recommend him to all my friends and family.

The crew leader communicated very well before and during the work. We know when they would show up and how long it would take. We supplied the paint. We were very happy with the job they did and will use them again in the future.

Long review short: Unified Painting is fantastic! Do yourself a favor and hire them. Unified Painting, specifically the owner Lawrence, did a phenomenal job. I called him on a Friday evening and made an appointment for him to come by Sunday evening to give me an estimate. He brought over color swatches and I was able to pick one out right there that would fit my needs. The price for the three rooms was very reasonable and, quite frankly, significantly cheaper than a lot of these other painter's coupon prices. We made arrangements to have the work done the following weekend and that was it. One of the great things is Lawrence doesn't charge you anything until the job is done. He showed up Saturday morning and immediately got to work. What really impressed me was his prep work. This is the first time I've ever used a professional painter so I don't have a comparison, but his attention to detail and care he took with the prep work really impressed me and resulted in no splatters or paint getting anywhere it shouldn't have. Once his prep work was done the painting went super quickly and I couldn't be happier with the result. It looks amazing! One last thing that I REALLY liked. He doesn't charge you anything for paint. I'm not sure how others do it, but Lawrence gets 20% off Behr paint and will allow you to get his pricing without charging you anything extra. You can either pick the color you want and have him pick it up before he comes to do your work, or you can meet him at Home Depot to pick it up with him. I didn't have to pay for the paint until everything was said and done and he charged me exactly what the paint cost (he gave me the receipt!) Again, I'm not sure how others do it, but I loved not having to worry about going to get my paint while also not having to pay for what some others may consider a service. I'm incredibly happy with the work and I will definitely be contacting them again when I need painting done.

Oh...my...goodness, I don't know where to begin! This is the first time we have ever experienced a professional paint job, and we are so thankful that United Painting turned out to be a really great choice! We bought our first home 3 years ago and now we need to move to Florida for work for the next three years, so we decided to paint the walls in our home before we rented it out while we are gone. We called United Painting based solely on the 5 room special they advertised here on Angie's List (we saw all their shining reviews as well, but we are on a tight budget, so money is the main reason we called them). Mr. Schudy was able to come out and see what we needed done late Friday night. He went through our home with us together and gave us a very detailed write up of everything we wanted done and he was so meticulous about it that we decided we were comfortable hiring him for the job. Him and his team of 5 men were able to come out bright and early the following Monday morning at 9am sharp. They were on time and very prepared for the job. They systematically went through each room and prepped them thoroughly with painters tape/caulking on all frames since we only wanted the walls painted, no trim or cabinets or doors or baseboards. They even covered everything (cabinets/furniture/appliances/floors) in plastic sheets and used canvas drop cloths on top of that on the floors - they removed all of the wall outlet covers and taped them up as well. At the end of it all, nearly 11 hours later, they systematically went through each room again and removed all of the preparations they had done and there was not a drop of paint on anything but our walls! I was so impressed with the job they did even after working so long! Mr. Schudy even came back the next morning and took care of a few places that were missed in the poor lighting we have in our master bedroom and some paint that dripped onto our window seals because of the condensation from the cold night. Although the price we paid for extra work we had added onto our Angie's List 5 room special was a bit more expensive then what everyone else offered to do it for, I have ZERO complaints about it because not only was the job was top notch but they also did not charge anything until the paint was dry! United Painting will be the team I call when I paint ANYTHING in my home again, so I hope these guys are around for a very long time! Also, each and every team member was VERY friendly and a joy to work with, thanks everyone!

Lawrence came out on a Wednesday for the estimate and the painting was done the following Monday. Three guys and Lawrence came out in the morning and finished everything by about 8 in the evening. All our furniture was moved and covered to prevent any damage and pictures were taken off the walls. We are happy with the service provided and would certainly use them again. We paid for the paint at a 20% discount (they picked it up from Home Depot).

It took some back and forth to get on their schedule but it was worth the wait. The job was flawless. I have rounded corners and I was really impressed with how straight they got the lines. Will be scheduling Unified for more work.
