He again followed up the day before to make sure everything was still on track. He spent 2 days here painting and even reduced the previously agreed on price when he discovered that the railing didn't require re-painting. He was honest, hard working and we would use him again if future work needed done.

John gave me a bid right away and was able to start the job quickly. He gave me the best price and I plan on using him again in the future.

Received Mr. Winter's name from the person who installed a shade cover on our deck. He maintained excellent telephone contact with me throughout the entire process with multiple calls on job status, and fielded my questions and concerns quickly. Showed up on time every day, and kept in contact when he was coming back to work. After the old stain was removed, he hand sanded the rough areas on the deck and rails. The new stain was applied by hand (no sprayer), with 2 coats on the deck and stairs and 3 coats on the railings. He stained the 12x17 shade cover for a small additional charge. It's been about a month since this work was done, and the deck looks great. If I had to pick anything that could have been done better, it would be the old stain removal. Some boards have gouge marks where the pressure washer dug too deep into the wood, but maybe with a different stain remover and a different spray head on the wand, this could be easily corrected. Mr. Winters offered some good suggestions on stain, but left the overall decision to us, and offered to pick up the stain at the paint store once we paid for it, even offering us his contractor discount to lower the cost of the stain. He is a friendly, professional person. If you want a good staining job, with an old fashioned handshake agreement, and then have that agreement fulfilled exactly as agreed, Mr. Winters would fit well. He took extra time to be sure the job was done to my satisfaction.
