The Tree Guys of Texas

I purchased the deal on Angie's List, but needed to pay a little extra to get all the branches trimmed. Outside of that, the service was professional, timely, and overall, just a good job. There were a team of guys about 5-7 people who finished the work in about an hour. I would definitely recommend these guys.

They did a great job, on time and on budget.

Very good work. Cleaned up after. On time. First go around of trimming was done the worker asked if I was happy. I said I would like a bit more taken off. NO PROBLEM!! This is after they had cleaned up most of the branches. Very satisfied with their work.

They came out one week before to give us an estimate and started promptly the next week. They attacked the forest that was around my house and made the grounds into a thing of beauty. In the backyard, my pool is no longer full of leaves so we can actually swim in it without spending an hour before getting the leaves out. They were very professional and did a wonderful job!

We scheduled the appointment to have the work done. The owner called and had to cancel the first time because one of their trucks had to go to the shop (he apologized many times for the inconvenience). He called the day before and it was not a problem for me to reschedule, so I did that. The next appointment they arrived on time. There were 3 guys (if I remember correctly) that were doing the work so it really didn't take too long (approximately 2-3 hours, it fell during their lunch break). They trimmed and shaped the Monterrey Oak we have in the front yard. They then did the same with a Bradford Pear tree in the back yard. We had a Hackberry tree that was pretty large (actually it was in my neighbor's yard right on the fence line) cut down. I got permission from her to have it cut down because we couldn't grow any grass in a corner of our yard because of it. We have 2 dogs that were always getting dirty or muddy because of the grassless area. The guys did a fantastic job! Mike also say he would do some light trimming on a couple of my neighbor"s trees that hung low over the fence into the ditch behind her house.Everything was cleaned up and I couldn't tell they had even been there. He shows all papers and gives a copy of all papers related to his insurance, etc. He said he always like to go above and beyond on his jobs to make his customers happy. He totally did this and I wouldn't hesitate to use The Tree Guys of Texas again!

Did a great job and everything went smooth. They spent 2 days here and could not ask for a better contractor.

Mike was prompt when he came to give me my estimate. We walked the front and back yards and I told him what I needed done. He pointed out a few things for me to consider and was very thorough in taking notes about what I wanted done. On the day of my appointment, he and his crew arrived 10 minutes early. They did a very thorough job and did everything Mike and I had talked about. This was very refreshing after the experience I had with another tree trimming service (recommended by a friend) who is thankfully not listed on Angie's List. I will recommend Mike and his crew to my family and friends.

Mike was very punctual when he arrived and gave us an estimate of the work. He also described the work, since it was delicate in that the tree threatened the house. He removed the tree and the other smaller trees later the same week. He arrived on time and was very punctual on both visits.

I called Tree guys of Texas for estimate Mike Oles owner of the company showed up on time dressed like a professional he walked the property with me explaining the work that was needed and expalined about the clean up and wrote it down with the price and his price was the same as one other estimate I had and in the middle of seven estimates.Mike and his crew showed up on time and they was respectful of my plants and flower beds and my husband had Mike trim up some branches that wasn't in the esimate and mike didn't evan charge us. the clean up they did was great they evan hauled off a pile of branches my husband has been stacking for months.Mike and his crew did a wonderful job at are place we will use The Tree Guys of Texas again

From start to finish it was a pleasurable experience working with Mike (the owner) and his crew. Very professional service. Mike arrived right on time for the quote, very reasonable compared to other bids I received. Mike knows what he is talking about when it comes to trees. His consultation was impressive. I don't just let anyone work on my property due to bad experiences in the past. You can tell Mike cares about the service he provides. They removed all the dead branches and a large dead tree that threatened my house due to branches overhanging my roof. They took great care to not let any branches fall on my roof. I was concerned, but they did a great job. After the job was completed, you could not tell they had been there except for my trees looked great. They had picked up and cleaned everywhere, even carried away some branches that were in the backyard that had fallen out of the dead tree earlier. As they were leaving, Mike had his crew, who were all uniformed by the way, trim up a few small shrubs in my front and ran them through the chipper at no additional charge. I've already recommended The Tree Guys to my neighbors and actually joined Angies list because of my experience with Mike and his crew. Great job!!

Called for estimate said they would show up at 6:00pm never showed up, and never called to let me know anything. Don't know if this is a reflection on the company's work ethic, but probably won't be calling back to schedule another estimate or recommend service to anybody else.

The crew arrived as scheduled and went right to work. They cleaned everything up, checked in with me to make sure job was completed as promised. Also, the next day the owner called to check to see if I was satisfied with the work, I let him know I was. I would recommend them and use them again if I need tree removal service in the future..

Mike Oles scheduled an appointment to inspect the property and determine the amount of work necessary. He was on time and very professional. He listened carefully to what I wanted him to do and provide helpful suggestions. He provided a written estimate on the spot and also provided proof of liablity insurance. His crew showed up on time on the agreed start date and got right to work. Unfortunately, the day they started, a burn ban was put into effect for Comal County. The weather on the first two days of work was misty and very damp with a light wind, so after chipping the downed trees for several hours, Mike called the County Fire Marshall and obtained permission to burn due to the wet weather conditions. His crew worked until dark and then Mike stayed on the property through the night to insure that the fire did not get out of control. The next day's weather conditions were similar, so his crew continued to cut and burn. On the third day, the weather cleared and the winds picked up, so the chipping and hauling process for waste removal was resumed. By the end of the second day, Mike realized he had grossly underestimated the amount of work that needed to be done. Combining that with the fact that he could not burn all of the downed trees as planned, he knew his profit margin was going to be close to zero. He called and rather than ask for more money to finish the original job, he gave me the option of either paying for some extra work he had told me that he thought he could "throw in for free" or not performing that work (note: he did not guarantee he would do the extra work when he first gave his estimate, but he said he would do it if there was time left over in his estimate). I chose to pay the fair price he quoted for the extra work. I had fully expected to pay more for the original work when the option to burn was no longer available, but Mike told me that he had made a fixed cost bid on the work and would honor it even if it meant he would lose money. Fortunately with this arrangement for the extra work, he made a profit, albeit a small one. The end result was AMAZING!!! I could hardly recognize the lot when this crew was finished. I would estimate that at least 100 cedar trees were removed and all of the debris was cleaned up. Mike met with me and the representative from the utility company to insure that the trees were sufficiently trimmed back for the power lines. There was addtitional trimming that was required which Mike agreed to do without any additional charge. Not only does Mike and his crew do OUTSTANDING work, but he is very knowledgeable and has a very high level of integrity. He tells you what he is going to do and then does it. He communicated with me throughout the job regarding progress and any questions that arose. I would gladly use The Tree Guys of Texas again and I am recommending them to anyone who needs work on their trees.

I called to get a free estimate, and spoke with Mike. He scheduled a date and time to provide the estimate. He arrived promptly and called me with the estimate. I had compared other prices for the same job and found his to be fair. So, I decided to schedule an appointment to perform the actual service. Again, he and his crew arrived promptly. There were about 5 guys who performed the service of cutting down the trees, hauling them away (actually, turning them to mulch) and grinding the stumps. The stump grinder was pretty cool to watch in action--the kids loved it, too. The guys also raked around the area. Overall, the service was done very professionally, cleanly and quickly! I will definitely refer them to my family, friends and neighbors.

The guys showed up on the Monday morning and got busy. I didn't even realized how fast these guys were moving until I happened to walk out of the front door and realized that for the first time in two years, I could actually see the street and sky through my huge oak tree in the front yard. I also had a small palm in the front that was growing wildly over the sidewalk and really couldn't wait for that thing to be dressed up like it should have been. They did a wonderful job on it was well. Looks like it really should have, like a pineapple now. They also got rid of two crepe mertle trees that the previous owner had decided to plant about three feet from the side of the house. They cut them down to the ground and then came back with a stump remover. You can't even tell there were trees there. All in all, it was a fantastic job. I can't say enough of what a fantastic job these men did. Highly recommeded and the price went very well with my budget.

I called several tree trimmers for an estimate to trim these trees. Mike Oles, from the Tree Guys, came out promptly and gave a thorough estimate with a good price. His crew arrived on time, worked hard for over 3 days until the job was done, and did a fantastic job. Not only did they cut out ALL the dead wood from these trees, but they did a fabulous clean up. It looked absolutely spotless when they were done! Besides doing an excellent job, Mike called me several times while on the job, to keep me abreast of what was going on. (I was not onsite when most of the work was done.) This is the kind of company that makes life great--excellent service, dependable honest people, who can be trusted to do the job right, even if I am not there! I will definitely use them again when the need arises and I recommend them without reservation!

Mike gave me an estimate and scheduled an appointment, but I had to reschedule three times due to having the outside of my house being painted He is very knowledgeable and discussed how each tree and shrub would be trimmed and gave me the discount. His crew is professional and friendly. They did an excellent job of trimming all the trees and shrubs. They walked me through the front and back yards to make sure everything met with my approval. The crew cleaned up afterwards picking up all branches and racking leaves. I will use them again in the future.

After I purchased the coupon, I called the owner to set up an appointment to discuss additional work I wanted to have completed. He came to my house the next day and provided me a firm price for the additional and we set up the day for the work to occur. The crew showed up on time to trim my trees and finished all of the work to my satisfaction.

I saw the special on Angie's List for the Tree Guys and read the positive reviews. I called Mike last Monday, and he was able to come out on Friday. He was very quick and efficient in writing down what each tree needed and offered us not only the special from Angie's List, but also told me he gives a discount for military (we're retired military). He also said his crew could come Monday afternoon, which fit my schedule perfectly. They arrived exactly on time and got to work immediately. They worked consistently and were very polite. At the end of the job, I couldn't believe how nice my trees looked and how clean my yard was - not one twig was left on the grass. We highly recommend this company!

This is the second time I have had the Tree Guys back within the last 3 months. The first time was to trim my oak trees. This time I had them trim my 25 oleander bushes which were enormous in size. They also removed on oleander bush. When the job was complete my oleanders looked great. The Tree Guys as always were very professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up after they were through. When I need my trees trimmed or my bushes trimmed, I will always call Mike Oles and his Tree Guys to do the work.

Mike came out in the fall and gave us a bid on the work that needed to be done. He sent a crew to take care of the immediate needs 2 weeks later. He suggested because of the trees that were to be trimmed that the bulk of the work be done after the first freeze. A full crew came back yesterday and completed the work. They were particularly careful to clean up my yard and my neighbors, where leaves and limbs fell. I will have him back in the fall to trim some more trees. Great job. On time and cleaned up! Can't wait to see the trees in the spring.

I shopped around and got several quotes for the job of tending to the numerous trees on my property. Many charged more and several charged less. Based on the reviews here... and a 10% discount being offered at the time to A's List members... as well as a personal visit and quote from the Boss with a reasonable quote... I booked the service to the extent my budget would allow. A crew worked pretty much all day. did lots of good work. What they accomplished was quite impressive. The results were kind of what happens when someone with shaggy / no-style hair gets a good cut. It just looked like our landscaping was renewed... and even though I wish I could have had the guys for another day... things look nice and I was pleased. :-)
