Bought the $329 coupon through Angie's List and received a call from them the same day. A day later, today, they came out to do the work due to a cancellation. Great communication about if they could come out today, as well as when they would be here. My trees look great, the crew was professional and courteous, and they cleaned both my yard and driveway of all debris. They even chopped up some firewood for us out of the dead limbs. I will definitely call them for any future work.

Absolutely great! Mike emailed then called almost immediately after I purchased the coupon he had available. He came out to give us a bid quickly and did the work within a week from the bid. His crew were very nice and courteous and extremely hard working. Mike is very knowledgable and gave us a lot of good information and feedback about our trees. The guys did a great job with all the trimming and tree/stump removal. They all showed up and worked during some of the coldest weather we have had this winter. They not only cleaned up all the remnants from the trimming, but even leaf debris that was there before they started. The entire yard, (front and back) driveway, gutters, and the roof were spotless! They stacked the smaller pieces of wood in our rack and removed all of the bigger ones. Mike was present during the majority of the process and kept us informed of the progress. They got a very big job done in 2 days. Very, very pleased and will definitely recommend and use this company again.

After I had purchased the deal, he called later that morning to schedule the appointment. They were able to come out that same day and complete the work. Mike was also able to give me his professional advice on my other trees in my yard. He cleaned up well after the job was complete and we have no complaints. We will definitely hire him again if we need additional service.

The service provided by Mike and his guys was excellent. He contacted me almost immediately after I purchased a deal on Angie's List and arranged a day for the service. They arrived on time as scheduled, and Mike immediately reviewed what I wanted done. His guys were very organized and quick, getting more than I expected to be done completed within the two hours. They cleaned out the dead wood and cleared the canopy on two very large live oak trees, letting in more light to the back yard. They removed all of the debris, sealed all of the cuts, cleaned up everything around the area, and were careful not to damage anything in the back yard. Mike was kind enough to answer some questions I had about some old Ash trees we have in front and reviewed some options we would have to deal with them. I was very satisfied with the services provided and got more than I thought I would get for this price. I will definitely use this company again in the future.

Mike was very professional, attentive, and courteous from start to finish with the job of cleaning up 16 medium-size oak trees. He took great pains to ensure that the trees would retain as much "healthy green leaf" as possible. He had the crew shape the trees to grow away from the roof line. The crew sprayed the trees at the cuts and left the yard immaculate. They were able to save some of the wood for firewood and neatly stacked it where I asked them to. Finally, Mike and the crew worked with my dogs while trimming in the backyard to ensure their safety and well-being. They did a great job, and I will use them in the future!

Excellent service. Mike returned my e-mail with a call immediately. Came out the same day and gave me a very reasonable estimate which I immediately accepted. He arrived to do the work with his crew( early). They did an outstanding job. There was no sign that the tree had even been there and the yard was raked completely of leaves and debris. Great job, highly recommended!

Not only did they do a professional job, they did it all in one week, leaving me a small mountain of nicely chipped wood to use as mulch - which I needed.|The workers and management were very task oriented, eliminating everything I asked them to remove and checking with me before removing anything questionable. They were also very knowledgeable of local flora and its impact on fauna to the extent that they helped me decide what should go or stay. We now have a very usable back two acres and the front .4 acres that are trimmed and ready for landscaping. |Thanks, Tree Guys!

We had initially emailed the company and did not hear. Mike emailed back about a week later and said that the email had gotten into his spam folder and he would call us the next day which he did. He came out as planned and gave us a quote. The work was then scheduled for a couple of days later. The crew arrived as planned and worked a good part of the day. We had a large hackberry that was diseased and in a bad spot very near our fence and a large persimmon with signs of disease in the driveway. Both were removed and all debris was removed. There was a minor mishap when a branch hit the fence and slightly damaged the gate battery box. When this was pointed out to Mike he repaired it right then. We also had a large live oak trimmed of dead wood and the canopy lifted. All debris was removed as well. After all this work was done, the man who removes the stumps came out to finish. Mike had his crew do some extra trimming and stump removal at no extra charge as well. Mike is very knowledgeable and he and his crew are professional and courteous. We are very satisfied with the work that was done.

I feel so fortunate that I found The Tree Guys on Angie's List! Mike came out to give me a bid the same day I called and his team was out to complete the job two days later. Arrived on time for 4 hours of service. Four workers immediately got to work trimming in front and back yards. I went out to inspect the work in progress and pointed out some "suckers" on trees in front yard that hadn't been trimmed. Supervisor stated that they were almost to the end of their contracted time. I told them to "hurry so they could finish". I was pleased that they were able to complete the job to my satisfaction

I could not be more pleased with The Tree Guys. Mr. Oles is very knowledgeable regarding trees, and I was extremely impressed with the honest answers he provided (somewhat of a rarity nowadays). He could have easily charged me for unnecessary work or time and I would not have been the wiser. I informed Mr. Oles that he could work in my job whenever their schedule permitted because they were swamped. He kept me thoroughly informed as to when the work would be done, and the crew arrived on schedule. In addition to the attractive shaping of the trees, the crew did an awesome job of cleaning up. I will be calling The Tree Guys when I get ready to do the trees in my backyard and would recommend them to anyone.

They arrived early walked the property with me to go over what needed to be done and then started. the cutting was quick and efficient. Mike Oles, and his crew took particular care to do the right things for the trees. We actually saw him in july or august, but due to the heat he suggested we wait until the weather cooled, due to the size of the limb being removed from the heritage oak, which amounted to almost half the tree. His crew is efficient and did what I wanted done to the trees, using Mike's input on how it should be handled. The cleanup was fast and efficient and the neighbors yard was cleaned also, since the tree limb over hung the fence. 2 of my neighbors also used him to trim their trees and they were very pleased. I am very particular about the trees in my yard. I do whatever I have to do to preserve them. I could not have found a better person to do the kind of trimming I needed done to those oak trees. He is trained and educated in tree preservation and trains his crew also. Cannot say enough good things regarding the company and the crew. The job was done at a fair rate, and we felt that we got more than we paid for. After the job was done and the yards cleaned, Mike walked the front and back yards and we inspected the trees and the work. I highly recommend The Tree Guys

I contacted the company on the 29th of October later in the afternoon. We were able to secure a look at the property the next morning which was really convenient for my schedule. Originally we planned for 9AM but a vet appointment gone awry kept me behind but Mike had no problems waiting for me on site for the additional 20 minutes. In fact he told me it allowed him to get a great look at the property so I really appreciated not feeling like i was wasting his time. Mike gave me some great information about the Pecan trees and what he thought needed to be done, but then he told me that everything could be done on my own and that no "professional" services were needed at this time. He told me that perhaps in a year or so things might change but I did not need any trimming, canopy lifts or anything else. I loved that honesty and that will bring me back for future services. So Mike came out for his consultation, I got some great information and I learned that my tree is doing great and does not need anything major. Highly recommend!!!

It went well. Mike promptly met me at my rent house to discuss what I wanted done. Mike gave me three different prices depending on what I could afford. I actually couldn't quite afford any of the plans so mike came up with another idea of two of his workers all day for what I could afford. My rent house trees in front and back look so much cleaner and the house is safer.

Outstanding from start to finish. Mike showed up on time for the estimate and was very professional. He did a very thorough analysis since one of the trees was hanging over my home with a steel cable holding it from another tree. The way his guys, Pepe and Jonny dismantled that tree was incredible. I was very nervous about all the plants and shrubs that were under the trees but not a scratch on any of them during the process. Great job cleaning up because it was a mess during the job. I'm a 'do it yourselfer' on most of my yard-work and landscaping projects and realized after watching these guys that there was no way I could have done this. Mike gave me some great tips for my low level tree pruning projects. Excellent price (I did get other estimates). Will definitely hire them again.

On Thusday, I called around requesting for estimates from various tree companies. This company said they were unable to come on Thursday, the day I called, but would likely come after 3pm on Friday (I told them I wouldn't be home till 3pm). It turns out that I found another tree company that came out that Thursday and did the job promptly. After calling back to cancel with the other companies, I must have missed them in the process because today, Friday, I got a phone call from them at 2pm. As soon as he introduced himself over the phone, I let him know that I already had the job done and apologized for obviously having missed calling them sooner to let them know. He replied by stating that what I had done was rude and a waste of his time, and that he went out of his way to drive by my area. At, that point, I proceeded to apologize. I didn't even get passed "I am so sorr...." when he HUNG UP on me! That is so unprofessional. I take full responsiblity for failing to call them back, but they must equally take full reponsibility for their rude behaviour, lack of prefessionalism and weakness of character.

I take pride in the fact that I offer all of my customers the best customer service I can. Therefore I make sure if I have an appointment I am there on time. If anything changes, I call my customers ASAP. Because I respect their time. This situation was upsetting for me because I had left a job site that I needed to stay on. To go do an estimate that did not needed to be done. Had the roles been reversed. And I wasted your time you would be upset as well. So because I called you rude I get an F on Angie's list. Had you called me and notified me the work had been done, left a message, text message, or even an email I never would have thought you were rude. It was very unprofessional for me to hang up on you. I should not have done that.

I wouldn't complain, but they didn't kill themselves working which was sort of what I expected. Anytime you hire somebody for a fixed fee there's no incentive for them to work hard. I've hired tree guys in the past and they're usually like a little army of ants scurrying around to finish the job. These guys got here at the appointed time, but it took them about 15 minutes to get their equipment out which of course was part of my three hours. They started cutting probably a half hour later. One of the guys took a real short break that was only about 5 or 10 minutes, but I didn't think a break at that time was necessary. There were two guys. One of them got on the roof and was cutting there and the other guy was working the front. I thought I made it clear to them that all I wanted them to do was cut the limbs and leave everything on the ground because I was going to move it instead of paying them to pull the brush up to the curb. I knew the guy that was on the roof had gotten down because I seen him go off to the side of the house. I went over to see what he was doing and he had cut a bunch of branches on the side. He was kind of bundling them up and getting ready to take them to the front. I decided to tell him again that I didn't want him to do that and to just do the cutting. He finally got the message and then they were both out front and trimming. One of the guys was using a pole saw that has a cutting blade with a rope on it. You could either saw or use the cutting blade to trim smaller branches, but the rope was gone on their equipment. The guy was using this thing to saw really small limbs. He had to do about four or five swipes on each little twig to get it to cut. If he had been able to use the cutting tool it would've gone much quicker. They keep on working and finally it was about 20 minutes left to go, so I asked this one guy to do one other thing and he said they have to start packing up. All of a sudden for a half hour my three hours is spent loading and unloading. I expected three hours of solid work. For 30 to 35 minutes they were both working in one area of the yard. They were cutting, but they were also chitchatting a lot. I've seen a lot of tree guys work and I've never seen them talk while they were working. They were doing pretty simple stuff and they were both on the ground, so I don't think it was a safety issue but a time issue. Part of the reason I was hiring these guys was because I thought their prices were so outrageous. I've used them several times and I know the game. They come over and the one guy is going to give you an estimate. He looks around, shakes his head, and talks about what a big job it is. It seems that they all want a minimum of $1200 to $1300 and it goes up from there. I've asked two different times how many guys are they going to have and how long it was going to take. Both times I was told a crew of six or seven and one time they even said eight, plus it was going to take a day and a half. When you figure that many men for that many hours for the price they're giving you it doesn't sound unreasonable. The last time I did it they told me a day and a half, but they were done in five hours. I'm thinking a day and a half, which is about 12 hours of work versus 5 hours is a big difference in time. For 12 hours I thought his price was fair, but for 5 hours I felt like I got cheated. He of course doesn't see it that way. He looks at me like I should be happy they're done. Maybe I should look at things like that, but I don't. I look at when I agree with something I'm debating whether it sounds like a fair price to me. If it sounds like a fair price I agree to it although if it turns out that it doesn't work out that way and I'm not just satisfied that I got the job done I'm going to feel cheated. I feel that I paid too much. That's why when I saw this ad for $300 for 6 man hours I said that's more like to my liking because I know how fast this goes, especially if they don't have to haul the stuff away. I know that you can do a lot of cutting in three hours, but these guys certainly did not do the amount of cutting I think they should've done. The reason I didn't complain is because I felt like I got a decent value for $300, but the ad makes it seem like you're going to get an outstanding value for that amount and I didn't get that. They didn't satisfy me as a customer which is why I'd never call them back. I try to be a fair person and I don't feel like they ripped me off which is why I didn't give them a bad review. I certainly will not give them a positive review for that particular deal either. For a three hour job I don't think the guy needed to eat a snack. If you're doing this for a living and in decent shape you should be able to put in three hours without stopping to eat. I know that they're doing hard work and I'm not trying to kill them or be a slave driver, but they started at 8:30 in the morning and it wasn't like they had worked all morning and came here at 11:30 and was working through their lunch hour. We were the first job of the day and I think they could've done the three hours without taking the break. They didn't try to pressure me into paying more and I admire that about them. They did seem like they knew what they were doing. As far as equipment they had harnesses that they strapped on when they were on the roof and up in the tree. When I asked them to cut a limb they were real good about doing that and they were right on time. It was a decent deal, but certainly not great.

Mike came out & gave us an estimate. Was able to point a few pointers & suggestions on what would be best for a crowded butch of oaks we had. Once everything was agreed on Mike gave a fair price & was able to schedule us the following week. His crew came out & performed the services as agreed on. Really cleaned up our backyard & hopefully will save our grass from too much shade. Already talked to Mike about touching up a few more of the bigger oaks. I've used other tree cutters before & The Tree Guys did the best job yet on my property. Easily recommend!!

Got bid on removal of dead ivy from one tree and removal of some other trees. Their price was better on ivy, not as good on tree removal. They agreed to do just the ivy removal. Did a good job, good communication. Honored coupon discount
Description of Work: Good experience. Punctual, good price, did good work.

The price for trimming and removing bores from three live oak trees was approximately $500.00. Said it would take a couple hours to complete and to call to schedule if we wished. Overall, very professional and knowledgeable about trees and the area. Will compare to other estimates before choosing.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate and they showed up when they said they would. Surveyed the house and trees and provided a written estimate with an Angie's discount.

Thank you for taking the time to post a report. My first reaction is I do not remember this name. In addition the address does not bring a bell either. However, that does not mean I did not give you an estimate. With over 500 registered tree services in San Antonio you will ALWAYS find someone to do a job cheaper. My rates are set on how long I think it will take my guys to do the job and do it correctly. Good work is not cheap and Cheap work is not good.
