It was an insurance claim and USAA just sent out someone to do the job. They were lousy and we really wanted to go with Davey's. The estimator thought since it was USAA they would be the one they would call. But they sent out some other yahoo's.

Davey Tree exceeded my expectations! They did an excellent job, very thorough and professional in every respect. The crew leader was exceptional in explaining what was happening and why. He also asked me to go inside of the house while they were in the tree for my safety. They were neat and cleaned up all debris, in fact cleaned up sweet gum balls that were on the ground around the tree.

Davey Tree Service Company sent Jess Divin from San Antonio out to our house, immediately after we called USAA insurance. Jess educated us on a number of things regarding our trees and the care, plus his crew worked tirelessly until the job was done, going above and beyond customer service to help us when our world was turned upside down by the storm and the destruction. There were many things we needed to know about the care of the trees and Jess was so calm in teaching us. He truly was the calm after the storm and we highly recommend The Davey Tree Service Company for all your tree needs. He is a certified Arborist, which is what our insurance company required. He knows his stuff and the crew could not have worked harder, staying many hours to complete the tasks of hard work. You simply cannot get any better than The Davey Tree Service; they know their job well. And if you are in the San Antonio area, ask for Jess Divin, he is a winner!

My husband and I were incredibly impressed that they could get a crew out here right away to take care of a Red Oak limb in our yard that fell in the recent storm. Now we won't have to be concerned about anyone getting hurt if it accidentally fell out of the place it lodged and hurt someone on the sidewalk. With Halloween tomorrow, it was really weighing on our minds. The response to our request was very fast and the crew that did the work was professional and competent in every way. We continue to be positively impressed by Davey Tree!

Went great and took a wait and watch approach on the necessity of removing large oak tree. If it becomes a problem, we will definitely use Davey Tree Experts! The price was right for the quote should we have to remove the tree.

The job went smoothly from start to finish. Our initial call was returned promptly and arrangements were made to have a certified arborist come out to go over our needs the following week. A follow-up email was sent confirming the appointment and providing information on the individual. He called once on the actual morning of the appointment to reconfirm and again closer to the time to say that he was running a little late, which did not present a problem for us. Upon arrival, he walked the property with us as we went over our needs. There were several trees and shrubs we were unsure about and he was helpful with their identification along the way. He then did a thorough walk-through on his own and worked up a detailed written estimate for us. We verbally agreed to have the work done and he provided us with a typed proposal by email the following morning. We received a call from the office that same morning to schedule the work over a three-day period 2-3 weeks down the road. (It was felt that two days would be needed, given the scope of the work but, to be on the safe side, a third day was added.) The day before work was to begin, we got a confirming call. A three-man crew, accompanied by the arborist, arrived punctually the following morning. The arborist walked the property with the crew foreman, then left them to it. What ensued was a total of approximately 12-14 hours of efficient, skillful, quality work over the three-day period. The skill of the crew and the care they showed in performing their work was admirable. The foreman was extremely knowledgeable and kept my husband apprised with what they were doing every step of the way, checking in with him to be sure things were being taken care of as expected. The amount of work that was done was major, the manner in which it was done was exemplary, and the finished result was all we could ask for.

Job will begin first week of November.

We have about 14 live oaks in our backyard and two small live oaks in the front. The trees in the back needed pruning to remove dead branches and the ones in front had never been pruned. Davey Tree Expert Company did a very professional job. They pruned just what needed to be pruned. All of their equipment worked as it should. They cleaned up thoroughly and painted all cuts to prevent oak wilt disease. I will use them again to maintain our live oaks.

They did a great job. Very punctual, professional and thorough. Everyone at the company was really great. We had to postpone part of tthe work due to the hurricane but when they were able to come back they brought extra guys so they could finish more quickly. The certified arborist, Charles (Chuck) Shouse provided expert advice in planning the tree removal, pruning, fertilization and stump grinding. The pruning and tree removal team of Nick, Daniel and Jose were outstanding. We were very happy with the services provided and highly recommend their services.

Quote was fast and honest. Quote was middle of all the referred tree services I was given by friends and family. Tree removal crew was fast and safe. They actually came out 2 weeks earlier than planned due to an opening in their schedule. That was greatly appreciated. They used a bucket truck. Due to equipment malfunction, the stump was not cut as low as they wanted but they left that to the next stump crew. The stump crew (a subcontractor) arrived and grind the stump down 6-8 inches below grade as specified. They did not remove any of the large amount of mulch/debris which was left in my front yard. After several days, I called Daveys and they responded by promptly sending a crew out to remove over 24 wheelbarrows of debris from my front yard. I would have given an A rating if I didn't have to call to resolve the issue; once notified they did quickly respond. Recommend better coordination/QC over their subcontractors. I would use them again.

The quote was done promptly. The crew was very polite, professional and responsive. While a few small plants on the ground suffered a bit from falling limbs, the team did an excellent job and it looks great.

1. Tree removal was efficient and thorough, including stump grinding. Excellent clean-up. 2. Trimming by a separate crew was very professional with excellent clean up. There were some overhanging branches that were overlooked and needed a return visit.

I used one I got off of y'all and I was just out looking at my trees and noticed its getting a whole bunch of new leaves on it doing pretty good. They're a little expensive, but their work was real good. Real expensive. But they got the tree I wanted and planted it the way I wanted. They came out on Saturday, so it was the supervisor and one of the supervisory helpers. It took about three and a half hours for the work to be completed.

I like the guy that comes out and does the pricing, the evaluation and the recommendation of what needs to get done. I have been using them since '05.

They're good, but expensive. They do have arborists.

Great. The arborist, while pointing out some areas where work could be done, was honest and relieved my own anxiety about the trees.

They were very professional too. I have a nation wide company to fax them up, in a way I prefer that people would come around and ring your door bell, you don't know whether they are trained or whether they are bonded if they get up in a tree whether your gonna be responsible for any injuries or anything so I prefer to deal with a reputable nationwide company for that.

I thought the price was way too expensive. I've used them for many, many years and the price has jumped and it was like three or four times what we normally pay.

We've used them several times. It turned out very good. The prices are fair and reasonable.

It was fine. It was more expensive than I was expecting but they did a good job. I think they could've done a better job explaining the cost. They should clarify the work requirements and cost issues before they begin the job. The workers were working away from the house. All I know is they showed up, did the job and left. They cleaned up after themselves.
