Independently owned contractor specializing in bathroom & kitchen remodeling. We are trained to handle any phase of construction but specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Even if you just need some advice please feel free to call any time.
We got off to a rugged start due to staffing issues and other job scheduling conflicts; however, Jeff was able to get work back on track and completed to our satisfaction. Most importantly he stood by his word and stood by his work - going out of his way to make us happy and never hesitating to return to correct any problems. Jeff's crews are excellent.

It was very responsive and professional from beginning to end. Jeff has lots of knowledge and good ideas and is able to quickly give suggestions that we would not have thought of on our own. He gave a good price and stuck with the price, even discounting some changes that we made. Jeff and all of his workers did quality work, responded to our queries and showed up when they said they would; if they were delayed they called, and if we had a problem they didn't hesitate to address it and fix it to our satisfaction. There were no unnecessary delays and communication between Jeff and his workers was excellent.

The Carpenter's Hand exceeded expectations. They were very professional and did an outstanding job on the tiling of the shower and the tub. They built from scratch a custom Cabinet cover for my open closet that matched the cabinets that had already been installed.
Description of Work: I had a half finished bathroom that required tiling of a shower and a tub. Also needed was a custom Cabinet cover for an open closet.
Jeff Bryson came into our home to redo and continue our remodeling nightmare due to our first hired contractor. He was a savior and a blessing working with us after knowing we had lost some money from the first contractor. He gave us a very fair bid and started quickly. His crew where all very professional. Lynn, Keith, Paul, Ricardo and Jeff all did great work and would always double check to insure we where happy with the progress. I would use Jeff and his team again they took what started as a nightmare and gave us exactly what we wanted, Thanks Jeff and God Bless you and your crew.

We got bids from 3 different contractors. We went with Jeff because he listened to us concerning what our desired outcome were and made suggestions to meet those needs. He came up with some ideas that we had not thought of, that made our bathroom more functional. We are very happy with the remodel. Jeff and his team removed a Japanese soaking tub that was poorly built, not usable and just weird. They completely replaced our walk in shower and added an additional shower head. They custom built two new vanities, enclosed a closet and created cabinetry that matched existing closet cabinetry. They also completed numerous updates/improvements to the tile floors, vents, lighting and such. All of Jeff's team were great and their work was of very high quality. I would call him again for remodels on our to-do list. The only thing to note, it took longer to start and complete than anticipated, but the work is very high quality. I attached one before picture and a few after pictures. Jeff's team did not do the stained glass, that wonderful piece was built and installed by Scottish Stained Glass.

The team was all the contractor's employees, not subs, which I really liked. They were a pleasure (even FUN!) to work with and my young kids looked forward to seeing Jeff, Lynn, Keith, Ernesto, Will, and everyone else that spent time in my home. They are a professional, polite, knowledgable team that goes above and beyond expectations to please their clients. Their advice was thoughtful and they really listened to my requests. Both my deck and kitchen are now above and beyond what I could've imagined; quality work at a fair price. I feel they did the work in a reasonable time frame and really worked to keep things clean and orderly. HIGHLY recommend!
Description of Work: The Carpenter's Hand remodeled my kitchen (tore down a wall, installed cabinets, column, appliances & granite, and painted downstairs). They also tore out an old deck/pergola and rebuilt a new, larger one.
While it's hard to live in a house under major construction - Jeff Bryson and his team always kept us informed, were excellent craftsmen, trustworthy and while sometimes we hoped things would go faster, there was not one work day that at least one worker was at our house while this small contractor juggled his jobs. And if we had an issue, Jeff and Keith always responded quickly. Never ducked an issue. Our original plan was to only remove popcorn ceiling, paint and update 2 small bathrooms. Once we realized how good these guys were we expanded the project to a major remodeling and are thrilled with the results. Definitely recommend - especially their cabinetry work. Quick and excellent quality. Plus Keith B's recommendations always added to the design. Also special thanks to Lynn, Ernesto, Ricardo, Jeff & Paul as well. Found The Carpenter's Hand via Angie's List. So glad we did. Definitely recommend!

It went very smoothly. This is the 2nd time I've had The Carpenter's Hand do work for me. Last time was a major kitchen/bathroom remodel and this time was more handyman work,. My backdoor had some water damage and needed to be replaced. They assessed the repair, I went and picked out the door and hardware, paid for it and they installed it. Very easy. I plan on using The Carpenter's Hand for any work done around the house.
Our project was a very large one. It took many different skill sets including electrical, concrete, tile work, cabinetry, and masonry. The project was delayed because of licensing requirements in our town. Because of that, the completion date stretched from April to July. However, the finished product is very, very good and we are pleased. Jeff was honest and trustworthy. The workers he hired were skilled. We are especially pleased with the carpentry skills of his foreman Keith. Keith built a very large shelving unit with granite top. Turned out really nice. We may add on a deck and pergola and our first choice for the job will be Jeff Bryson

I saved all text messages and documented phone along with my wife present, for calls. Signed a contract with Jeff on 12/15/2015 for $71,270.00, to gut and remodel one Ex-Large (13’x25’)master bathroom and one medium bathroom; plus remove and reinstall new custom cabinetry in a Jack n Jill bathroom, linen closet and one powder room. Due to his backlog my wife and I were told the start date would be “the end of March to the beginning of April”. He was also telling new customer’s, on the phone in our presence, that because of this backlog he was not signing any more contracts and to call back in April if they we still interested. He also stated as he left with the contract and 10% down, ($7,270) that he wouldn’t be checking back often till we go closer to the start. Note: Contractor stated the reason for the 10% was to protect him, as he would show up for jobs and people would be out of town and he had to find work for his people. On 3/16/2016 I phoned Jeff to check the status of our start date and left a message on his cell number and Never received a call back. I called again on 3/30/2016 and where honesty on the contractor’s end starts to get fuzzy. When I asked why he did not call us back, his original reply was that he was out of the country and didn’t get message. As we talked more he then said he received my call but forgot to return our call. When I asked when the job was going to start he replied, “we talked about the end of April the beginning of May”, totally false. I explained to him that my wife and I were planning a week vacation the 2nd week of April, he told me it was ok to due since they weren’t going to be here. He then stated he “hired a framing crew and things would be moving faster”. Still never giving me any idea when the job was going to start? Called on 5/13, again contractor is out of town, and this lead to a heated discussion when I asked what the heck was going on? He tried to tell me that he was waiting for us to get back to town and call him, unbelievable!! During this heated discussion he said “you can just have your deposit back”, I said we have been waiting 5 months and you have had our deposit monies. We agreed for him to call me on his return on Tuesday the 17th to set a time to meet. At 10:59pm on the 17th I get a text that he will call me in the morning, never a personal call. On the 18th I received a message from his cabinetmaker to call him back, NOT Jeff. By now my wife and I have had enough. I called Jeff, @ 10:59am with no answer of course, and left him a message to bring me our deposit money, that we can’t work with someone like this. I get a text at 2:54pm, “I will be over to your house at end of my work day”. At 9pm I still have not heard from or seen him. He text me he is just finishing and will “put a check in a plastic bag and put underneath my door mat”. I text back, “I’m awake and you can hand it to me!”. He takes that as a threat and mails a check although for the wrong amount and has to send another. Never once after handing him a check and signing a contract did we receive one call from Jeff, at the end he wouldn’t even answer my calls, resorting only to text messaging. He requires 10% down to cover himself against lost time, but we lose 5 months with no regrets.

Response from The Carpenter's Hand
I had already written a response to this so I am not sure why this did not post. So, let me start by saying that during this time we were extremely busy and booked for several months. I told this to the customer before we signed a contract. This contract was signed after I had taken several trips to look at their project. The first thing that should have given me pause was that I was not the first contractor on this job. The customer had already had two other contractors before me. The customer did call me while I was out of country, however this was not in the time period in which I said I would start the project. In May I was going to Seattle to see my son who is stationed at Ft. Lewis. I called customer to let them know I would be back in on the 18th and wanted to see if they were back in town. This is when things got ugly. The customer did not use words like "What the heck is going on" I cannot nor do I want to write here what was really said. I asked my foreman Keith to follow up with the customer in an attempt to console him. This did not happen. When my foreman called him he resorted to more language. I then contacted him and told him that I would give his deposit back. He asked if I was really going to walk away from a $71,000 job and I told him that if I had to deal with him any longer it would be worth walking away from a $250,000 job. He demanded that I go and put a check directly in his hands when I offered to mail it. He was quite threatening and I decided it was better to mail it. He is correct that I did not mail the correct amount of $7,127 I sent $7,120 by [Member Information Removed]. When he called to let me know I immediately sent the other $7.00 I did not charge him a dime for the several trips to his house or for the design work that my cabinet shop had done for him. I [Member Information Removed] by my decision.

It is amazing that people write reviews so dishonest or without proper memory. I informed (Removed members name) that I had got into accident and tore all my ligaments in my ankle. If I could at this point post a picture on this website I would just to prove that I am still in a soft cast walking with crutches waiting to see if I will need crutches. Probably better that I never took this potential customer on as a client.

It went great. The only problem was miscommunication with the granite installers. They did show up til the next day. But they called and informed me of the problem. I will definitely use this company again.

Fantastic!!! The parts of the house that were remodeled look brand new and gorgeous; and the workers made every effort to please my elderly mother, who was present when most of the work was performed. The contractor is honest and conscientious. I plan to hire his contractor again when it's time to remodel my mother's bedroom and bathroom within the next year.

The owner came out and gave me a price. I thought he was high in price, however, I let my prior contractor go after 10 months of not getting the job done. Prior contractor estimated 4 months, so at 10 months I let him go. Based on Angie's list review I hired this guy. He told me he would "help me out" and "if I paid cash he would give me this great deal for 6000.00" He sent his brother over to work on the house, told me he could hang all the cabinets in about 2 days. After the first day, he told me the house was too unlevel to install the cabinets. Then the brother disappears. Based on Jeff's inspection he told me to have the house levelled. AGAIN. I had previously had another company come out and level the house. That first company did a poor leveling job. After I had it leveled by a second company that did a better job......Another guy from Carpenters Hand showed up, he worked on the cabinets and the tile. (OK) Another tile guy finished the guest bathroom. (OK) Then on a Saturday a guy showed up with a girl and they told me they were there to work. But, the guy didn't have any tools - at the end of the day the worker tried to sell me his tools.??? Not sure were he had gotten tools that day?? On Monday I asked one of the other workers who that guy was and I fould out the guy that came to my house was in JAIL on Monday. Really, sending criminals to my house to work????? Then the electrician hung 3 ceiling fans and put switches and some outlets in the house. Slowest worker I have ever seen. 2 of the ceiling fans were those 5 minute installs. And charged me for 2 full weeks of electrician work, when the electrician was not there all the time. Also, Jeff, owner, told me that he had told me what he was charging for the electrician per hour. I was never given that information as Jeff, the owner, did not want anything in writing. I am guessing so he never has to pay taxes on the work I paid for. Finally, I told him he was no longer needed and we were done. I was very angry about the Criminal at my house. Jeff, the owner, told me that guy no longer worked for him. - Jeff, the owner, said every horrible thing in the world to me, he was very hateful and nasty. - Later he called and apologized as"the Christian thing to do" - I am not interested in keeping my subscription to Angie's list due to this experience. Very Unpleasant

I am not sure how Angie's list works in this regard but if you can look at her other reviews I would not be surprised at all that she made other derogatory comments. I never speak horribly with my customers. It's funny to me that I truly went out of my way to help this woman and did so many things at no cost. Prior to me she had paid another company approx. 100,000 dollars for about 50,000 dollars of work. This is where get problems began. I tried to explain to her that leveling her house needed to be done first. I even agreed to talk to leveler even though I had no contract with her. I hate having to respond to things like this. Oh one more thing the ceiling fan she is referring to was cast iron, and required bracing in attic and two people to lift. I guess I should never have tried to help this woman, but I feel good about my actions in trying to do so

Requested bid to renovate bathroom and convert screened porch into mud/laundry room. The contractor was quite personable and bid was reasonable. However, I did not hire the firm due to one big red flag. The contractor carries no insurance. When I asked what would happen if one of his workers were hurt on the job, he replied that my homeowner?s insurance would cover the claim. (Note that I was not offered a discount for underwriting part of what should be his business expense.) I would suggest other would be clients take note.

Will update when job is done but we are very happy with what we see in our bathroom. Jeff and his crew did a great job on our bathroom remodels. We found him on Angie's List after running into issues with another contractor. He has been very easy to work with and always makes it clear that customer satisfaction is his top priority. His price was very fair for the amount of work we did and he worked with us to accommodate changes as the project progressed without nickel and diming us. All of his guys have been wonderful to work with and are very courteous, do excellent work and are very responsive to any requests or adjustments we need. I was nervous going into it as this is our first major remodel project, but overall it went very smoothly and quickly with minimal issues and we love the end result! We would definitely recommend him and use him again in the future!
Description of Work: Complete remodel of master bathroom. Partial remodel of two secondary bathrooms.
Job went very well. I had planned to go with another contractor, but due to a lack of responsiveness by the other contractor I changed my mind at the last moment. Responsiveness was important to me. I'm very glad I went with Jeff. His proposal wasn't as detailed as I would have liked which was one of my concerns because this was a lot of money to me and a new relationship. I learned that Jeff's reputation was most important to him and that customer satisfaction drove everything. This was demonstrated by everyone on his team. I was pleased with all the work done. He has a good eye for little details which made a difference. I'll be using him on our future bathroom remodeling.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodeling( granite top, backsplash, added in cabinet trash pull out). Ceiling painted and redesigned entertainment center.
After signing the contract, and getting an approximate start date, Jeff Bryson (B) and his crew arrived to begin the job at the agreed upon time. Jeff B has a great group of guys working for him, courteous, friendly, patient and receptive to questions, always explaining what they were doing and why. A breath of fresh air in the renovation business. End goal was to ensure I was happy with the progress and the outcome. And I definitely was. An example of this is how the guest vanity came to be. Original plan was to leave intact since it's unique pattern and wood matched that used through the house. However, the carpenter, Keith, recommended a plan to redo using some of the existing patterned wood. A win-win, I would get a new vanity, yet it would still look like the original wood within the house. What a brilliant and beautiful piece of work he did on this vanity! I cannot praise him enough for the superb quality of his work! Also can't thank the Jeff, the electrician, enough, not only for the superb electrical work he did, but for everything else, a perfectionist, who worked tirelessly to ensure I was happy with the minutest details at the end of the job. The tilework in the guest bathroom looks stunning. Prior to start, I had designed how I wanted it laid in, both on the floors, walls and in the shower. Although, they liked and used my design, the tile setter Ernest made several recommendations that improved final visual outcome. Ernest was a workhorse. Probably the hardest job, and he worked from morning to night with seldom a break to get it done right and keeping on schedule. The granite I selected for the vanity from a small store sample proved challenging to find with the right mix of colors. However, they went the extra mile by bringing slabs directly to my house on several different days until I found the one that had the right amount of the color scheme I wanted. The only hiccup, if you want to call it that, was the 3-week delay waiting for the frameless shower doors to arrive after measurement. This, of course, was no fault of The Carpenter's Hand, the company the doors were ordered from dealing with back-orders which caused the delay. They were well worth the wait though - stunning. Jeff B has a good crew. They get along well with each other, and with you, as their customer - never once did I not enjoy having them around. And as for Jeff Bryson, now consider him a friend. And lastly - my two bathrooms are stunning.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of guest bathroom and powder bathroom. Guest bathroom involved removing existing wallpaper, tub, and all other fixtures, and replacing with walk-in tiled shower with frameless glass doors, new tiled floor, new vanity, sink, toilet, light fixtures and new textured and painted walls. The powder room involved removing existing wallpaper, pedestal sink and other fixtures, and replacing with a new vanity, vessel sink, toilet, light fixtures and new textured and painted walls.

I could not be more pleased with my ecpireicence with the Carpenters Hand. Jeff Bryson is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He was able to interpret our expectations and ideas and give us good suggestions and make them reality. He stayed true to his quote and made sure to be very clear with the details of the project. He has a very talented and trustworthy staff. Lynn managed the project and made sure everything was to my expectations. He was very skilled and great with communicated schedules. Jeff was also great doing the electrical, extremely nice guy and was very helpful throughout the project. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get work done on there house.

I let the contractor choose the colors of the tile and they did a beautiful job. Even added a tiled ceiling in my master bath with a light and made a boxed out area in the shower stall. Each project has been enlightening and added more beauty to my home.
Description of Work: Replaced the old tile in my master bathroom, built a tiled bench and redid my shower stall. All came out beautifully and I love it still!!! Also, replaced the tile in my main bathroom and tiled the tub area as well. They built a beautiful tile front on my very blaaah fireplace that totally changed the room. Added a wonderful backsplash in my kitchen that makes me smile.
