Tasco Air Conditioning

My husband worked primarily with Laine Houston during the entire process. Laine was professional and spent a great deal of time working out the plan for our home. He personally designed the new duct work for better air flow which enabled us to receive a total of $3.800 in rebates from CPS Energy. Needless to say we are extremely happy with the new HVAC unit and the service Tasco provided.

Overall, it went well. They did exactly what I needed them to do. They did a great job explaining what they were doing. Interacting with them was easy, too -- very professional. There were no issues with scheduling. They were very responsive.

Bought ac coupon to have my air condition inspected from Tasco AC Company thru Angie's list around the second week of June 2014. Made apt with Tasco to to have ac inspected. The day of apt they did not show at the time agree. Made another apt for the following day, but they call me and canceled. I ask wen can they come over and I was informed that they where buck thru the following week. I called then back around 07/17/2014 and set a day for the following week. When they came 07/21/2014 the ac was working. When they left after 3 hours the ac was not working. They came back the next day around noon and work on the ac. I was informed the fan wasn't working and that they recommend that the coils be taken out and clean. The total for that work would be around $1500, or have the furnace replace for around $2700. At first I agree to get a new furnace but, then I call them the following day and said that I had some questions. I ask them how did we went from a ac tun-up for fifty dollar to almost $2500. They started to explain but I could not understand it. I told them to hold the were. I call County Wide Service Comp for a second opinion. They came in the evening of 07/24/2014 and fix the problem plus clean the the coils for $150 in clouding the part they replace. The AC is working great now. I was real disappointed with Tasco. They have a grade of A but I think they are bellow fair.

The job was done and it was done properly. The guy was on time. I called 5 other companies to get a quote on the price for the part they installed and they were double the price from the highest quote that I got. They got the job done in about 30 minutes or less. They sent one person to do the job. He had to order the part and come back a second time to install it.

Prompt and professional annual service check. Gave me a great explanation of an issue I have of uneven cooling in the house, and told me how much it would be to fix it, without trying to pressure me into it. I would definitely use Tasco again.

UPDATE: The estimate was sent to wrong email address. After multiple phone calls we figured it out and they gave me very thorough estimates. I have been working with Jerry who has been very responsive. I will be getting another in-depth estimate and likely replacing an evaporator coil through them. ORIGINAL: Lane was really helpful and gave a list of recommendations of repairs. I am interested in making the repairs and I asked for an email outlining the estimate, which never came even after several calls. I don't know why this is hard, it should be routine. I was given a sheet of paper will illegible writing and very rough ballpark figures... am I supposed to just use this and trust him? I just want to do my research and know what I am paying for. The lack of response makes me think that they know some of the recommendations are unfounded. Probably not true, but I'm still wondering why no responsiveness to a customer interested in spending more money. Now I have to go to the trouble of finding another company to inspect and make recommendations.

TASCO was prompt and professional. I would use them again.

Jerry was great. The owner actually answered the phone himself on a Saturday and had Jerry call me back within about 10 minutes. Less than an hour later he was there waiting for me to rerun home. Explained everything clearly, immediately found the problem, fixed it quickly, and even added a little foam insulation for free to replace the stuff my dogs had chewed off. Thoroughly inspected the rest of the system as didn't leave till he was satisfied everything was working well, and I could feel the difference in the house.

Owner personally serviced our unit. He was expert at his work. Speedy yet thorough. Added touch was his interest in our overall satisfaction and offered support with homeowner's insurance carriers when needed.

I had a steady drip through the ceiling from an AC unit in my attic. It was very near my home-office's computer equipment, and it was potentially going to ruin my ceiling. I called Tasco Air-Conditioning, based upon their high rating here on Angie's List. They claimed 24/7 emergency service, and that's what I needed. It was after hours (7 PM) and the recorded message told me to call someone named Lane at a separate phone number. I called Lane's phone and got a voice-mail message that he was away from his cell phone. I left a message, giving him my name and number, and stating that I had an AC emergency. I also mentioned that I got the reference from Angie's List and called because they advertised 24/7 emergency service. I never got a call back from Lane or Tasco to see if I still needed their help or not. I've never gotten a call back from them. That doesn't seem to be the best way to offer 24/7 emergency service to an Angie's List member. I'll not ever call them again. They're just too busy, or perhaps just not interested. It would've been nice to at least get a call telling me they wouldn't be able to help me... for whatever reason. Instead, I was just ignored.

It went good. The technician was great. They got the job done quickly. Everything went pretty well.

It went well. The technician came and taught several things I need to do, making sure my A/C unit is in good condition. Recommended places I would get my filter because we are new homeowners. Recommended that I could turn off my unit outside when I cut the grass. Locally own business. Great people

It went extremely well. They were very courteous, punctual, and attentive to detail. I initially contracted them for simply duct testing and replacement, but they had really good prices on more extensive work. They made a good case for doing more work, but were not high-pressure about it. The owner, Terry Wolf, was present frequently. Both he and the people working on our house seemed very enthusiastic and interested in their work. The price I listed is AFTER the rebate of $3,750 from CPS Energy which Tasco was able to obtain. I listed this price, because many of Tasco's competitors quote their after-rebate prices.

I purchased one of the deals offered for $55 to check the AC Unit prior to selling my home. The technician arrived a few minutes early. He was courteous and very knowledgeable and explained what he was going to check. I informed him that an electrician had just replaced the Electric OverCurrent Protection box and I just needed the system checked. He checked the entire system as I had requested and pointed out some future repairs the system would need. I would definitely use this company again and would refer them to anyone who needed service for their AC Unit.

They had very courteous service and I believe they helped my mother-in-law more than she asked for for her money. Definitely would recommend!

It was alright, but I did feel that they were trying to sell me new A/C unit instead of servicing the unit. They were very polite and they gave me a bunch of quotes. They were very responsive and showed up on time. They got the tune up done in about 2-3 hours.

Everything went very well. Tasco was very professional and knowledgeable. They are expensive but very much worth the extra cost.

Jerry Squyres inspected the old air condition and provided information as to why the old air condition was installed incorrectly and provided me with an estimate as to how much it would cost and what they would do to correct the problems of the old installation. The workers were very friendly and completed the work in a few hours, I was very pleased that there is still honest people out there.

They did a decent job and didn't leave me hanging. They came to repair what I thought was a clogged drain for the AC. They used a cleaner and said the drain pipe was clear and they were getting ready to leave. I checked it and saw water still dripping into the overflow pan. Then with the repairman we saw that the bottom of the furnace/AC need cleaned badly. They quickly removed the unit took it outside and thoroughly cleaned it and put it back in and tested it. I thought the price was expensive but they did do it immediately and it was replaced in 3 hours.

The provider came out to see what was wrong, communicated what was wrong, wrote an estimate, and then returned the next day to fix the air conditioner. They were friendly, helpful, and completed the work in a timely fashion.

Very well. In fact, in my rental house where he came, there was a very confusing AC temp control.. he explained how it worked. Which was very cool... lol.

Had to reach out to Tasco multiple times to get them to come for the service. While waiting for service realized that one of the AC's was not cooling at all. Local power company had just installed a new thermostat as part of their peak program so I figured that was the issue and that I would pay Tasco if they had to re-do anything. When the two very young men arrived I advised them on the history and they said no problem and went to work. They replaced the fuse and got the thermostat to come back on and the air handler to run. They then went outside and started spraying the compressor with my hose (has a high pressure nozzle on it). This is where things went downhill. They did not flip off the circuit and when they sprayed down into the compressor it arced and blew up the compressor right in front of me (debris shot up 15-20 feet). They then basically ran out of the house saying that their boss was on his way over. I asked if they could service the other one while we waited but they said he would do it. The boss came over and even before he could see the unit he said "I hate Carrier, if it is a bad compressor I won't fix it - you will have to replace it". Once he looked at it he confirmed that the compressor was bad and said he thought he could replace it for about $3k. He then moved the hose to another part of the yard. Long story short they never serviced either unit and came back at $2800 + tax for a two ton Trane unit and refused to take any responsibility. To be fair, another company had bypassed the start capacitor about 18 months previously that probably wasn't helping the compressors life but that is not why it blew up. I had a another company come out for a second opinion - I didn't tell them what happened and they said the compressor blew up from water hitting the high voltage lines (that could see the Arc). In the end I went with the second company who put in the same replacement unit for a total of $2800. All in all I think Tasco probably does quality work when things go to plan. The young men, while probably not very experienced, were eager and very pleasant. My complaint with Tasco is the delay in service and more importantly how they handled when something went wrong. Had they not immediately run out of the house and if they had offered some sort of deal I would have gone for it. We all make mistakes - it is how we handle the mistakes that matter.

They came out and cleaned out our furnace and made sure the pilot light turned on. They came out a second time when our furnace would not turn off and fixed that issue as well.
