Pretty painless. I bought the big deal, saving a good amount of money. They made an appointment to come measure and we picked out the color from a few options. They measured in just a few minutes, made an appointment for a few days later and came and installed it in a couple of hours. The end product was very beautiful and changed the whole look of our kitchen. Great experience. They did leave some gauges in the walls but I figure that's probably part of it. Nothing a little joint compound, some spray texture and some paint couldn't cover.

Everything went good till there was a problem after the installation. the bar part of the kitchen counter top was not secured properly and their was about 1/2 inch of movement up and down. I called Sublime and the manager said that it was put in according to industry specs. i asked them to come out and look at it and he said they couldn't come to look at it and fix it for 3 weeks as they had other customers scheduled. i had another counter top installer look at it and they told me it wasn't the best way to install it and that the glue that was used was not the right glue and appeared to be caulk. They fixed it correctly and only took about 1 hour. I was very disappointed as to the way the manager talked with me about the issue and his reluctance to even come and look at the problem for 3 weeks. Service after the sale is lacking.

The owner came out to do the bids on both homes and was pleasant and very knowledgeable. We got to pick out our own slabs of granite out of their yard at their showroom. That was the most fun part. Staff was laid-back, friendly, professional and easy to work with. They were prompt. Showed up and did what they said they would do. One employee drove all the way back across town when they realized they had taken a part of my Dad's faucet fixtures that needed to be re-installed. Make sure you clean out everything in the cabinets before they arrive, because everything gets dusty. They did a pretty good job at clean up, but messed up my floors a bit and their cutting skills on my Dad's island caused us to have to install an extra wood trim to cover their uneven cuts. I liked that they installed a bracket under the undermounted sink to hold it more securely. Most installers don't do this and you could end up with a sink falling otherwise over time. Their cost was reasonable. My counters were around $2500 with a new sink, and my Dad's around $2300 which includes tear out and hauling off of old counters. Would hire them again.

Awesome. They offer very competitive pricing. Our master bath was quite large two 6’ vanities and four ledges surrounding the tub. They were on time and they were very clean. Everyone one from the office staff to the installers were very professional. I would definitely recommend this company to others. They actually deserve 10 stars!!!

This is an excellent company, as evidenced by their website. Be sure and see their video on the remodel process, along with their experience in business. Shawn has built quite the operation. We initially contracted for about half of what we eventually purchased. There were a few glitches with the installation, but they were quickly remedied and the finished product exceeds expectations. The installers were polite and cleaned up after themselves like they were never even here. We would definitely use them again and we give this company an unqualified endorsement.

We provided the customer with 13 separate estimates over email based on measurements they gave us. One of the estimates the material named changed but the pricing did not update. So we fixed the estimate with the correct pricing and resent it right away as well as making the customer aware of the typo. This is the estimate the customer is speaking about. This is not a bait and switch, this is a simple mistake. This was all very preliminary, Sublime has not even come to the home to do a field measure. We never took any form of payment or money from the customer. The only contact we had with them was through email with these basic budgetary estimates. However, the customer took it upon themselves to come into our showroom and make a scene with a lady employee working alone that afternoon. They berated, physically intimidated and verbally attacked her. At Sublime, we hold the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. We certainly refuse to do work for anyone who disrespects women in any way shape or form.

Awesome!!!! I had never used Angie's List before but thought I would give it a shot since all my personal efforts to find a reputable contractor were exhausted. They were ON TIME every time and did an awesome job! They were professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves, my husband and I could not be happier! Total cost after add-ons was $2815 (we needed 7 additional sqft and anchors for the bar). I will definitely use Angie's List in the future! Proof is in the pudding!

I don't think that the project could have gone better. I purchased their deal on Angie's list knowing that my project would be larger than the offered deal. They came out and measured, used the Angie's List deal as my down payment. They then came and installed exactly on schedule. I went to work that morning with the old counter tops in place and came home to beautiful new granite counter tops (my husband oversaw the work that day). They did exactly what they promised in the deal and contract. We did have the plumber come out the next day and connect up the sink and dishwasher and our handyman connected the new stove top that this team placed into the island. Overall, we were very please with how smoothly this particular project went and will definitely consider using them again when we look at replacing bathroom counter tops.

I was a little worried about the special offer that I would not get a top quality job. The boys showed up at 10:00, after a "heads up" call, stayed until 7:30, cleaned up after themselves and left me with beautiful kitchen counter tops. They were easy to work with, made changes without complaint to some seams- I could not have gotten a better job if I had paid twice the amount. I would highly recommend this company and use them again in the future.

Initial meeting and contact was fine. Installation was fine. Price was a bit high. I found Greg to be quite smug. Did not respond to morning emails on a Friday so could not schedule my install till the next week, which was another two weeks out. Only responded when i emailed through Angies' List on Monday. When we actually did speak, he was completely unapologetic about not getting back to me. Greg came across completely indifferent and complacent. The other office staff were friendly enough.

I was surprised when my tenant texted me a photo on 3/21/16 showing the undermounted sink in the master bath had fallen off the granite counter underside into the base cabinet. However, I was sure the prior good service I received from Sublime would see us through. In fact, I also suffered a kitchen sink that detached from a granite counter about 4 years after I remodeled my own kitchen. Those installers cheerfully reattached my sink. So you can understand my concern when Greg, who took my call to Sublime the next day, suggested he had no record of installing my sink, and even if he did, Sublime's warranty is for only 1 year. After some discussion and to his credit, Greg he did contact my tenant, said 3 weeks was the earliest he could get to it, and said he would waive the $275 reinstall fee. After 3 weeks, Greg set up a time for the install, and I sent email to Greg and the tenant asking for some feedback from the installers as to why the install failed, and what could be done to prevent a similar failure of the reinstall. Apparently, Greg was angered that I would suggest changes could be made to prevent future failures. He emailed back, said he changed his mind and would not reinstall the sink, and I should find someone else to do it. So I sent Greg and email with a website of a kitchen / bath remodeler in the Dallas area that said, "Falling sinks after a granite install is something I get calls on all the time and it is easy to prevent, but many granite installers don?t bother to do it. It is a 5 minute item that should always be done if you have an undermount sink. So if you are planning on installing granite then make sure this is done ...." Here's the website: http://www.infiniteconstruction.com/granite/fixing-that-undermount-sink-that-fell-from-under-the-granite/ The contractor goes on to describe how you can use wood blocks to truss the sink securely in place so the weight will never break the adhesive. If you Google "falling undermount sinks" you will get 66,000 responses, so obviously this is an issue. Further research will show that sink installs can fail because: 1) the granite was not completely cleaned of stone dust prior to adhesive application 2) the adhesive was not properly applied 3) the adhesive was not properly cured 4) the sink was not properly cleaned before adhesive application The above list is fairly intuitive, and 100% under control of the installer. But from my first contact with Sublime Stone they insisted only an immediate failure of the bond would indicate a faulty install. Twice now I have had the experience of an undermounted sink falling off a granite counter years after the install. One installer made it right, but Sublime Custom Stone did not.
Description of Work: Less than 5 years ago, in the summer of 2011, I remodeled a rental unit in San Antonio with granite counters in the kitchen and both baths. Sublime Custom Stone LLC provided a competitive price, was reliable to work with, and overall I was very pleased with their work, so I hired them again in Nov of 2013 when remodeling the other side.

demolition of old top caused some wall damage that could have easily been avoided. The new top was installed and looked great - the seam where the pieces joined was almost invisible. The top did not have the 1/2" rounded corners we requested. It didn't take long for the joint to separate and when I called they sent someone out to fix it. He said it was't done right the first time but he felt he had it fixed. In August 2015 I contacted the office to tell them the joint had separated again and questioned whether the corners could be rounded (I feel they are a threat to my 2 year old grandson). They said they work could be done but I would have to pay because the warranty had expired. They recommended I contact the owner if I felt the warranty should cover this. I called the owner but he was getting ready to meet a client and told me he would call me back when he was through - that was 5+ months ago. I sent several e-mails messages with my phone # but no reponse.

Sublime previously installed granite at one of our other homes and did a good job, unfortunately I don't feel as good about this second installation. I noticed on their site that they now do laser measure and expected the process would go as per their video, which explains the granite buying process step by step, etc. etc. What what installed looks good for the most part, I did end up with some damage to my drywall..the slab scraped a little bit off. They weren't the cheapest. The techs were very polite, and the measuring guy was ok. I was told there would be no seam but once installed there was a seam, so that was a bit of a surprise.

Sublime always uses the minimum amount of seams, and after reviewing your template and the size of slabs, it is impossible to get that area out without seams. We apologize for the misunderstanding, but there is no granite company that could have done it differently. Slabs are normally about 115in long. That area was significantly longer than any slab available. Also the reason for the estimate being lower than the final cost was because you upgraded your edges and the squarefootage was higher than the deal you purchased. This extra cost was made known to you at the time of selection before the project proceeded. This was not a surprise addition, and it was approved by you.

I went out to their warehouse and reviewed their slabs and picked out two for use in my home. After doing so, I took a vacation (I did inform them that I would be gone for a couple weeks) and upon my return I found out that the two slabs I picked out initially were no longer on site. The manager informed me that he was not able to find what I had picked out, despite the fact that they had set them aside for me previously. I was informed that he would have to order replacements from Houston, TX and that it would take approximately four weeks for them to arrive. It actually took almost six weeks for the slabs arrive. I went back to pick them out. This time around, they were not able to show me the entire slab. Instead, they had them laying against one another so I could only view a small portion rather than the whole slab. I did pick out replacements based upon this limited viewing. They came out to take measurements and then set up an appointment to install the new slabs that I had picked out. After the installation, I called the owner that I did not like the color of the slabs and he simply apologized that I didn't like and made no other effort. The new slabs and large, dark brown veins running all through it. I had initially told them that I didn't want a busy pattern and instead preferred something simpler and lighter. The original slabs I picked out was the lightest and most simply patterned one that they had. These did not have the large veins that the new ones I got stuck did have. After being essentially ignored with my initial complaint about the pattern I ended up calling Angie's List to see if they could offer any assistance with these issues. Along with the color, I had discovered that the surface of the granite was very rough and was now staining any time something was set down on it. Water rings from cups would disappear after a day or so, however I had a blueberry leak that has caused a stain that has persisted. I attempted to clean the spot but the stain remains despite my best efforts. I talked to a tile company about these issues and was advised that the granite was not sealed. If it had been, the slabs wouldn't be rough nor would I have the staining issues. I am very upset with this. I am not certain why the granite hadn't been sealed as it should have been. If they didn't want to do the sealing I feel that they should have at least advised me that it wasn't sealed so that I could contact to perform the sealing. The details of the Big Deal mention use of "commercial grade sealer"along with the fabrication and installation. It does appear that this sealant portion was not completed.

This is not correct. Not only did you hand-select your slabs with our staff, but we pulled multiple slabs out for you to choose from. We then labeled your slabs and cut those specific slabs. This is all documented on camera. In addition, we seal all of our jobs. We cannot provide a warranty that will prevent against negligence. We inform all of our customers that any acidic substances should not touch or be left on your countertops because it can eat away at the sealer and stone itself. Also your complaints were never ignored. When you called to accuse us of using the wrong material we spoke with you multiple times and even read to you the assigned numbers of the slabs that you selected and we used. We completely addressed your concerns and you said that it just may look different in your home because of the lighting. Then you contacted Angie's List. We spoke to the Angie's List representative that was working with you and explained to them the situation as well, and the conclusion was that we did everything possible to assist you, and gave you the slabs you selected.

Installers were punctual and did a very nice job with one exception. Steel plates were added to the underside of the countertop bar. These plates were put in in such a way as to be VERY obvious. They were not painted to blend in or in any other manner camouflaged. Overall, they detract from the visual appeal. It would not be so bad if the bar top were not so high. I have granite counters in my present home with MUCH larger overhangs that do not have that support so I believe that they were installed unnecessarily.

I think I answered that in the 1st question.
Description of Work: Installed 38 sq. ft. of granite countertops--just beautiful! Installed 40 sq. ft. of tile backsplash--gorgeous! Really nice people. The only complaint I would have is they measured the backsplash tile inaccurately & had to reorder & come back later; so what was planned as a 3 day job, took 1-1/2 weeks. I had to get the tile guy to add one more row of tile; so the wall wasn't exposed by the range--but he was more than happy to do it. The job is beautiful & the people are very nice.

We bought the deal but we paid more. They changed their story on price. They changed their story on install date. When they put in our granite, there were things that did not match up where the granite was not even. They tried to charge us $100 per scene to fix it. We called Sublime and talked to the owner's son. He said that he doesn't know who told me that it was going to be $100 but you don't have to pay that. It was actually him who told his contractor when he was there doing the work to charge us $100.
