Storm Roofing

Job was finished quickly because they brought 3 workers and Supervisor to do job. I dealt with Alfred Trevino and he was very helpful in providing info about options for release of hot air in attic, pros and cons, and price. Al called ahead and was prompt. I had used him previously for roofing repairs and knew I would be using him again. I was COMPLETELY SATISFIED and will continue to use Storm for any future roofing needs.

My wife and I purchased a home last year that was For Sale By Owner in As/In condition. We knew the first thing that would have to be addressed was the roof. The roof was in very poor condition. There were shingles sliding out of place in several places, nails were popping out, and the roof had obviously been patched several times over the years. Despite the patching, the roof was leaking in 2 different locations. The leaks were pretty significant because they had already caused damage to the inside of the property (rafters, sheetrock and baseboards in 1 bedroom and in the garage). We called around and received a few quotes. We ended up going with Alfred and Storm Roofing. The main reason for our decision was Alfred's patience with us in explaining all of the options available to us, and discussing all the details of how the roof would be replaced.Specifically, his presentation and professionalism. I took 3 days off of work so that I could be home when the roof was being replaced. I dealt mostly with the foreman (George) who managed his crew of 3 workers. During the entire time George and Alfred kept me apprised of any issues that they had found. An example would be the chimney flashing. It was explained to me that although the flashing was still intact and would hold for a while, it was in poor condition and it was only a matter of time before it would start leaking. Alfred recommended that it be replaced but there was no pressure for me to replace it. I opted for the new chimney flashing anyway. Having the peace of mind that it would not start leaking a few years down the road made it easy money for me to spend. Alfred and George also made sure that all of my other requests were fulfilled. For example, when replacing the rotted out plywood, instead of cutting out the rotten piece and replacing just that part, I asked that they replace the entire 4' x 8' sheet. When they replaced all of the fascia that had rotted, I asked that they paint the new fascia boards for me. I basically wanted a new roof from the fascia up and that is exactly what they delivered. After the job was done, Alfred came by do his final inspection. While on the roof he notice that a small part of the chimney flashing was missed when it was painted. It was a tough angle to get to. He went to his truck, got a can of paint and made sure the job was done right! I couldn't have been happier with the attention to detail and my wife and I couldn't be happier with our new roof! I have been meaning to write this review for a while, but I decided to write it now in part because I saw a recent review that questioned Alfred's professionalism and mentioned the time it took to receive a quote. My experience with Alfred was fantastic. Nobody's perfect and that includes Alfred, but generating a quote takes time (especially when you are busy!) and money with no guarantee that you will actually get the job. That's the reason a-lot of companies charge you a "trip charge" just to show up. I feel running late for a quote is understandable especially when that person is taking care of a current, paying customers. And perhaps this was a miscommunication between the customer and Alfred, but did the customer tell Alfred that house was a rental property? Just curious seeing that there no mention of that in the review. If nothing else, how Alfred responds to his complaints just showcases his true professionalism! And for what it's worth, I have rental properties myself and intend on using Storm Roofing for any repairs or replacements in the future. .

Alfred came out promptly to give an estimate. He showed me that the pitch on my roof was too little to allow for a three tab shingle ( which was the type of shingle on the house now). He had a solution for us, an architectual shingle which would allow for low pitch. The price he gave me was still close to what I expected minus $200.00 discount for Angie's List customers. He told me exactly what they were going to do and what would be replaced, it was done exactly that way. While they were in the process for removing the old roof , Alfred showed me that some of our roof decking was rotten and priced replacement sheets at a very reasonable price. Their crew arrived early every day at the same time. Even with the replacement plywood they were done in three days. Excellent clean up. They were a pleasure to work with.

Everything turned out well. They were prompt and thorough, and they did a good job of following up to ensure that I was happy with the work. Furthermore, they explained the process clearly and did a great job for a very fair price. In fact, I plan on having them back to install a ridge vent.

Did not choose do to length of job and price

Alfred came out to try and find a leak that had caused interior damage after years of leaking. It turned out that the leak was in the vent stack itself, not on the roof or boot. He checked the rest of the roof and made some maintenance recommendations - free of charge.

Alfred Trevino and his lead foreman George were professional and very good from the beginning. I started my research for a roofing company in the winter of this past year. Angie's list has a slew of roofing companies that promote themselves as personable and caring and Storm's reviews were nothing short of great. I called around and left messages for several companies and a few called back and others didn't. I had a short schedule to meet with contractors but Alfred made time and set up a meeting where we could all get together. I even had a special request because I thought I might want some additional architectural changes to my house. We met and Alfred took an initial look of what I wanted done. Unlike other contractors he said that he wanted to get his lead foreman, George to come out and take a look. Other contractors would either have gotten scared off by the extra work or just give me a price but he cared and wanted to make sure that he got a second opinion. They came back the next day and George and him looked at the roof and my additional plans. He told me the truth and said that it would be very expensive and difficult to do the additional work. He gave me a great explanation and we decided to hold off on doing the extra work. He then said he would calculate the cost of roof replacement and interior damage and get back to me shortly. He gave me the estimate and I weighed my options. I called back a few weeks later after deciding that his estimate, trustworthiness and reputation were the best I would come by. When I called back he quickly remembered who I was. He set up a personal appointment with my wife and I so that we could clearly be on the same page for the work. He gave us all the information we needed and spent an hour at our dining room table discussing how he would help us and made us really comfortable with what we were getting. He even offered to bring different shingle samples so that we could choose the right color, since we were still undecided on that. He brought the samples the next day and left them at our door step. Again, we delayed a few months because we wanted to make sure we had the funds ready and that we would be home when the work was being done. Finally a few weeks ago we called him up and he again wanted to meet with us so that we could finalize things, since it had been several months. We agreed and he again made us very comfortable with the work that he would perform. We set up the time and date and he did it in short order. The day of the new roof came and the workers were here right when they said they would. The material was delivered and they worked very long days. The other worker who was with them even rang my door bell and wanted me to see some parts of the roof that were rotted and he wanted to see if I wanted him to fix it up at no extra charge. That was amazing. They took 2 days and gave me the greatest confidence that the work was done with great precision. They cleaned everything and left the house looking beautiful in and out. They even worked great with my insurance. I would recommend this company again in a heartbeat because they inspire confidence, are reliable and do call back. George is a great foreman who knows what he's doing and Alfred is a great owner who takes time to really understand what it is his customer wants.

I have called his office four times now in the past month because more ridge shingles have fallen off my home. He does not respond to phone calls. Too bad, we highly recommended him in the past but will not recommend him again. If there is problem, he will run and hide.

Outstanding company. I made an appointment with Alfred Trevino, the owner. He promptly returned all my phone calls and he was very courteous. His crew showed up on time each day, and did the work as promised. George the foreman was very personable and addressed all my concerns at the job site. I would hire this company again and recommend them to all my friends.

I called Storm Roofing and spoke to AL and he was very polite and courteous from beginning to end. He had to reschedule several times due to the bad weather we were having and always kept me informed when they were coming to start the work. They started on a Friday and were finished on a Saturday. Jorge and his son were very nice and little Jorge even did the lawn for me while they were here. After the work was done he asked me to come and inspect it and I was very satisfied with their work and with all the carpentry work they did. I asked Al to come to my home, so my wife could write him a check because the work was done on another property I own. We sat in the kitchen and we talked for an hour and I felt like I've known him for a long time. He was very respectful and a nice person to be around with so keep up the work AL. I`m very satisfied with the work and I would definitely use this company again. Sorry AL for writing this review so late for I've been sick...and the best was they never ask for money up front until the job is completed to my satisfaction, unlike other companies that take your money and run. I used this roofer 5 years ago for repairs. Price and response was reasonable. I asked for an estimate on a complete roof replacement in March 2013. Out of 4 bids, Storm's was over $1,000 higher even with a $200 discount then second place bid plus he had a three week wait. Needless to say I used another, little more hunger contractor.

Contact with the front desk was straight forward. Setting a time to meet the estimator didn't work out.

The job was completed on time in an excellent fashion and we are extremely satisfied.

Showed up as promised and submitted a bid.

My phone call was returned promptly, an appointment was schedule, the estimator showed up early (he called to ask if it was alright), and the repairs were completed two days later.

Alfred came out and found where the water was coming in. He made a temporary fix until he could do the entire roof. Alfred always keep me up to date as to when he would be able to start. He and his men were always on time or early. They made sure to pick up after themselves after each days work. Alfred worked with me in picking out a heavier felt because I did not feel comfortable with just #15 felt. Alfreds price was very competitive. Alfred was on site every day even though his men have over twenty years experience. They worked very fast and did an excellent job. I checked to make sure that they used nail guns and that the guns had flush mount tips. I am very satisfied. I would use him again. When he bids your job, look at his shoes. They are special and will hold on to the roof better than regular boots. The little things make a big difference.

I called Storm Roofing regarding some wind damage to my roof. Alfred Trevino came out the same day to look at the roof and give me an estimate. He left a written estimate and called me to discuss. I approved the work and his team came out the next day and repaired the roof. He followed up with a phone call to let me know the work was done. It was a very stress-free experience. I would definitely use Storm Roofing again and recommend them to others.

I cannot say enough good things about the service I received from this company. They did what hey said they would do, from being on time, getting the work done timely, and did not charge me more then the quoted fee. I was highly impressed with the service, and I highly recommend them.

It went fabulously well during a stressful time for them and us. If all companies were managed as well as Storm Roofing, the world would be a much better place!!

I called Alfred with Storm Roofing as part of my bid process for replacing my old roof. He responded immediately, and did an inspection within a couple of days. He was very professional and knowledgeable, while not being pushy, and his bid won by my Angieslist formula(lowest price with highest review scores). We picked the shingles, and work began within a week. The total time for the job was four days, but one of those was a late start due to heavy fog. The workers were very professional, and Alfred kept me updated with photo messages about progress and any problems (he found a rotten piece of decking on one of my overhangs, and some corroded metal flashing). For each issue, he laid out the extra costs and waited for my approval before proceeding. Alfred was onsite every day, and showed me what was going on and what still needed to be done. When the job was complete, the crew cleaned up the area well, and Alfred had a detailed list of the work performed(original estimate and extra work), with itemized costs. I would highly recommend Storm Roofing, and will use them again.

I couldn't say enough good things about Alfred and Storm roofing. I originally called just to have my patio inspected after a different builder roofed it because is was leaking and the other company was telling me that the leak was on the house, not on the patio that they built. I knew this wasn't the case but really had no way to prove it. I had Alfred come out and do an inspection and sure enough the issue was with the patio roofing. The previous company installed 3 tabbed shingles on a zero slope roof as well as a few other issue. I ended up having Storm roofing come out and remove the old roof and install new Modified Bitumen. Even though this was right after the bad winds we had in the second half of February, Storm was able to get out quickly and get the job done. Alfred was very informative and really made me feel like I was in good hands. He walked me through everything they were going to do and when they were done he did a good walk through and showed me everything that was done. The roofed looks really good. They put a plastic edge cap ( not sure that it is the technical term!) that matched the color of the roof and just made everything look nice and tied together. If I ever have the need to have roofing work done, I will not hesitate to call Storm. Thanks Alfred.

I called the company @ 11:18 am 3/15/12. their voice mail answered, and said they would return my call sooner than I expected...I left a message and call back number, No return call by 3/22/12. I'll call another company.

Repairs were performed quickly and well.

Excellent job. Alfred and his crew are a pleasure to work with. This is the second roof repair that Alfred has done for me, and I would recommend him to anyone. He is always prompt and talks straight with me about what is needed. He offers tremendous value.

We had high winds on a Monday while I was at work. I expected to have some missing shingles when I got home that evening. Almost every house in my neighborhood had missing shingles so I knew the roofing companies would be very busy! I called 2 roofing companies that I pulled from Angie's List. I called Storm first. I had to leave a message but that didn't surprise me as I figured their phones were ringing off the hook. I called another company who did answer - the guy that answered was obviously irritated at how busy they were. The other company had a minimum job fee. A representative from Storm returned my call within an hour and was very courteous and professional. I was able to schedule an appointment for an estimate for the next day and Storm does not have a minimum job fee. Storm came out Tuesday morning and got up on the roof to inspect (2 story house). There were 6 areas that needed shingles replaced. They also found a hole in the roof that the birds had created from pecking. I went ahead and scheduled the repair for that Thursday. Storm arrived for the repair at the scheduled time and completed the work within an hour. I will definitely call Storm if I need any roofing repairs in the future.
