 + -1 moreThere was a few days delay getting started due to some rainy days in mid-May. Alfred stayed in touch during this time and said he would check the weather about 5 a.m. the day they were going to start, and if there was more than a 20% chance of rain, they would wait another day. The day they started everyone arrived about 7 a.m. and got right to work. They tore off the old roof and replaced it with new 30 year shingles. They replaced the flashing around the fireplace and added 4 new turbines. Some rotted wood was discovered, and the job foreman called Alfred and he brought 2 new pieces of plywood right over. The entire job took a little less than 2 days to complete. They did a great clean-up job, as well. We received a discount for mentioning that we found him on Angie's List. Our new roof looks great and we were very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of Alfred, Joy, and the entire crew of Storm Roofing and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The home inspector suggested we contact a roofing professional regarding the 10 year old roof on the home we were purchasing. We were in the option phase of our contract, so time was short. After contacting another company on Angie's List twice and my phone calls not being returned, I contacted Storm Roofing. I spoke with Joy and explained the situation, and that we would like an estimate and a thorough roof inspection done as soon as possible. She said the owner, Alfred Trevino, would meet with us the following morning and that there would be no charge for his trip or the estimate. The next day Alfred arrived on time and inspected the roof. He said the roof showed extensive previous hail damage. He gave me an estimate to repair the roof (no warranty) and to replace the roof. Alfred is extremely courteous and professional and is a licensed insurance adjuster, along with being a roofing contractor. We spoke with our insurance agent about the findings on the roof, and he cautioned that if we were to ever have any damage due to a roof leak, the insurance company probably would deny all or part of the claim due to the fact that the roof had damage prior to our purchasing the house. With this information, my husband and I decided to lower our offer on the purchase price of the home. Finally this was accepted, and we hired Storm Roofing to install a new roof a few days after we closed on the home.

While he was on the roof he checked it and said how much it would be. He was super and he is a very pleasant man with a wonderful personality. He knows what he is doing. The price was fantastic. It was a lot less than what I was expecting.

He gave me a quote and we agreed on day and time for repair. He and his crew arrived just as scheduled and did a great job! Everything was wonderful in responsiveness, completion of work and neatness. Will use next time and will refer to friends and family!

 + -1 moreAgain, Mr. Trevino stands behind his warranty and customers 100%. I am more than satisfied in reference to every aspect of my business dealing with Storm Roofing.
Description of Work: We had a horrific hail storm in 2006. Storm Roofing came right in, finished the job within 24-hours and charged exactly as quoted with a two-year warranty on workmanship and a 35-year roof warranty. My insurance covered the bulk of the expense. Recently, I put my home up for sale. The inspector for the buyer and the buyer's real estate agent tried to imply that I had a foundation problem with "roof buckling" as evidence. Mr. Trevino (Storm Roofing owner & operator) came out the very next day. The roof was completely intact; only normal, structurally inconsequential variation. No shingle or adhesive separation what-so-ever. Nothing at all wrong with the roof to imply any sort of foundation problem evidence. Mr. Trevino stands behind his warranty and his customers 100%. He supplied a written assessment of the roof as a rebuttal to the inspector/realtor attempt to cast doubts on the structural integrity of my home.

 + -1 moreAfter some storms knocked off some roof shingles along a ridge, I asked a local contractor to recommend a roofing company. The local contractor immediately suggested I contact Storm Roofing. I was very impressed by how quickly they responded. Alfred Trevino came out and inspected the roof within 2 hours of placing the initial call. He performed a thorough inspection, and provided a quote for the work that was needed. He took time to answer all of my questions, and because my roof was still in fairly good shape, did not try to sell me on a new roof. I decided to have Storm Roofing perform the repair work, and will file another report when that work is completed.

Description of Work: Mr. Trevino, the owner, came to my home because I was concerned about a possible leak in the roof. He went on the roof, checked out my concern, and told me there was nothing to be worried about. He charged me nothing, even though I'd have been happy to pay for a service call.

 + -1 moreBecause of bad weather they did not come for about a week; Alfred and Joy did a great job of communicating with us during that time. On the first day when the weather was good, Alfred and crew came out as promised at 8:00 AM and were finished by 12:00. His crew trimmed branches that would likely wear out the shingles in the future and they treated the cut ends of the branches to prevent oak wilt. The debris was collected, hauled off and the area was cleaned up, he and his crew were friendly and polite.
Description of Work: Remove enough shingles to replace rotted plywood underneath then re-paper and replace new shingles in one spot. Replace worn shingles in another spot.

 + -1 moreThe only stress I had was whether the rain would hold off long enough to get the job done and the stress of having to tranquilize the dogs that did not like the air compressors or railing. The crew was punctual, worked late and very nice (even to the dogs).
Description of Work: Entire roof replaced because of hail damage. Ridge venting was necessary because of original roofer did not put in the roof top ventilation. Roof-line is very wide and steep on some spots. (5600 sq ft - one story house). The day materials were delivered it started raining and didn't stop for 40 days. They did the work on the five days it did not rain. It did the night they finished the job and it has rained everyday since. Certified, knows products, checks on crews regularly, asks and informs clients about any problems found that need to be corrected. Works well with insurance companies and adjusters. Ask many questions about products you want to use on roof. He has great wealth of knowledge.

 + -1 moreThree weeks later have not heard a thing. Noticed there were only expensive jobs on their reviews and no under $1000 repairs. Do not recommend this company to anyone. Ironic that if they had repaired my roof. I was going to hire them to do a complete $15,000 to $20,000 roof job next year.

Alfred was very helpful, initially coming out to give us an estimate back in March, only to see that we had had hail damage. He assisted us in filing a claim against our defunct/out-of-business homeowner's insurance, which we did, and received payment for a new roof, less deductible. Once the insurance issues were settled, Alfred returned to set up date for a new roof. Unfortunately, with all the rain, had a few weeks of delays. We were kept informed of the delays. On the scheduled day, Alfred and his roofers were at our home and working by 0730. They had the roof complete, yard swept for nails, cleaned up and debris hauled off, and gone from our house by 1930. The new roof looks great! His whole team was very professional!!
Description of Work: Alfred's roofers removed existing shingles, removed existing turbines, patched and sealed turbine holes, installed new ridge vents to roof, placed new leak barrier to roof valleys, laid new shingles, sealed around drain vents/heater vent and painted them to match the new shingles. The yard was totally cleaned up, swept for nails and debris hauled off.

 + -1 moreThe salesman answered all questions on initial estimate. Workmanship was very good. Clean up was satisfactory, but there was still trash and nails left on the site. The rotted decking was replaced without contact to the homeowner- would have appreciated a call during the process rather being told of the extra expense at the end of the job. The roof appears to be holding up well after recent spring rains. Guarantees good.

Alfred was continuously following up with me as to the shipment of materials, the quality of materials, his crew, and whenever I discovered a minor defect, he had it fixed the very same day! He then followed up again to ensure my satisfaction. You will not find many people of this caliber; he is polite, well mannered, and concerned about his my property. His crew was fantastic, they worked in probably the hottest days of the year; over 103 degrees and worked like a well oiled machine. They were all polite, they did a very good job of caring for my property, and did a great job of cleaning up. YES, I WOULD HIRE STORM ROOFING WELL BEFORE ANY OF THE OTHERS IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN! I used Angie's list to select this business and thankful I did. I only looked at the ''A'' rated companies.

The work crew arrived as scheduled and worked a 12-hour day. They had music, but kept it in an unobtrusive range. The work was completed early the second afternoon. The yard was cleaned, leaving a few scraps that only 2 labs could find. We were pleased with the work and would certainly use them again.
