The same technician came the 2nd time & determined that another part needed replacing which he did at no charge to me.

No time given but was here later in the day. No price quote. I asked for other work to be done, replacing a trap under the sink. He quoted a price $439.00, but that work was done by another plumber. He charged me $135.00 for the same job.

We called him after our heating went out. He fixed a relay and found new heating strips. He was very polite and all around excellent.

I called, hoping for fast response. Shafer had someone to me in 2 hours, and he had it fixed within another 2 hours. He was apparently stumped by the problem, but he was able to call a buddy for advice (a technique I can appreciate). I might say that the price -- $125 flat fee for service, plus $60 call fee after the coupon -- felt a little high, but that might be market rate and anyway I wasn't freezing that night! I would call on Shafer again, perhaps after shopping around in a non-emergency situation.

Rodney arrived on schedule. His office notified me of his departure & expected arrival. He used shoe covering upon entering the house. He asked the right questions, had the right equipment and knew what to do. Good man.

I was very pleased with their work. They had a straightforward pricing schedule, so I knew how much each repair would cost before it was done.

They were very good. One of the reason I called them was because they offer a senior citizen discount and they honored this discount for me. They also responded right away and were here on time, were very professional and didn't give me a hassle about anything. I would call them again.

I called for a repair and Frank was actually a bit early for the appointment. Frank found the first leak and gave me an estimate. He decided that there was a second leak and when he found it gave me a revised estimate. He was very efficient and neat in his work. I was impressed. When I called, the lady reminded me to print out the coupon for $25 off on the travel charge. On his own, Frank gave me a discount on the work, I guess because I am a "senior citizen."

I would give them an A+ for everything! Great follow up! I think they are super good! They have a one year, no interest plan.

We returned late one night from a four day trip to discover standing water outside our home. Since the water was bubbling up from the ground, I shut off the water and called two plumbers and left messages of my situation. We chose not to use the emergency service in order to avoid extra charges. Went to bed with water shut off and at 7:40 the next morning, Shaver Services returned the call to my home. A repair man was at my home before 9am and it was repaired, and the water was on by 11 am. Very prompt, courteous, professional, but not cheap. Note: Another plumber I had called the night before told me that he was overbooked for that day (a Friday!). Needless to say, I was very appreciative of the quick response of this company.

Work was prompt, professional. He was said to give an Angie's List discount, but didn't have any idea about it. I also wasn't offered senior discount, or military discount that they offered in the yellow pages. Work was fine, they were there within 2 hours of the call, fixed it fine. Price was high.

They did great work, were willing to help with difficult problem, and they came the next morning.

Both Bob and Carlos were polite and friendly. The only problem was that the sink started leaking again before the end of the day. Shafer promptly sent a new technician after a call to them the next day. All is well now. The repair cost would have been more had we not taken advantage of the $25 Angie's List coupon. Shafer also deducted the $39 service call fee and gave us 10% off the total cost because we purchased the service contract.

Gave estimate which was unbelievably high; $550 to fix the pipe if it was not in the slab; around $2300 if he had to go into the slab; Told him, thanks but no thanks; got the work done by a competent, licensed, plumber the same day, for $165 (will file a report on him too).

I love these guys. Which is good, since my house was built in 1907 and at this point I should just have a Shafer Services truck on retainer in my driveway. This time, during a "Welcome Home from Iraq" party for my husband, one of our toilets overflowed and there was NO plunging it away. I called the emergency number and the technician came out in about 30 minutes. He pretty quickly assessed the situation and realized that this was a rather LARGE problem of more than just a blocked toilet. He wisely advised us to deal w/ it the following day since we had a 50 person party w/ a live band and still had one functioning bathroom. The following day he arrived and snaked out the line (it was those 'flushable' wipes for toddlers). He then scoped the line. He was CSI: SA trying to figure out where the problem area was. He discovered that under the 75 foot tall pecan tree, we have a problem. And now? We have our short term solution (no more wipes). And we're waiting to win lotto.

Technician performed analysis of problem, and discussed options with me. The next morning two technicians arrived early to install new unit. They discovered some problems with the installation of the original unit and corrected these before installing the new air handler.

They came in the next day. They fixed everything on the spot. The best work I have had done on this a/c unit.

The representative came the day I called. He did a good job of assessing the problems. We knew about the problem associated with the valve, but didn't realize there's a new code on the overflow tank. He had to come back a few days later, since he couldn't do the job in the rain. He finished it and the quote was accurate.

He was great, better than any other plumbing service I have had. I am impressed with this plumbing service. They also fixed a little leak for free. They were very responsive to my emergency call and came out quickly.

He did an excellent job of keeping me informed and giving me an update on the dishwasher plumbing line. Since I live in California and own a condo in San Antonio, it is important that the company be honest and reliable. I would recommend Mr. Shafer to anyone in or out of the State of Texas who owns property in San Antonio!

Shaffer's did a very good job installing the unit for me. Being that it was a big job, I really thought they got the work done in good time, and there was not any mistakes made, or any damage to my home at all. The customer service was very good and I thought everyone had good business ethics.

I am very pleased with the work they did. I had a problem with the original installation, I left a message and they called me back right away. They took good care of me and they are very honest people. I have actually recommended them already.

This is a great company. They first came out and did a energy analysis of our home, free of charge. Then they went over with us the best units to use in our home to make it most efficient. There is a higher cost up front but in the long run, will save us a lot of money on cooling expenses. He was also helpful in letting us know the best time of year to purchase the unit, so we could get our rebate.

The bathtub that our 6 year old boy uses as his personal swimming pool drained extremely slow (30 minutes to fully drain). I pulled up the list and selected this company. I called and was given a verbal "rough guess" estimate of no more than $160, which is comparable to others that were called. The appointment was set for between 3-5pm, but the office called at 1:40 pm and said Bob was in the area and would be available early if I'd like. He arrived 20 minutes later. He cleaned the line out and removed several plastic coins, 4 Chuck E. Cheese tokens, and a quarter. The handle portion of the drain has been broken off for a while, so Bob gave me a quote to repair it. I declined the repair since it works fine, so Bob gave me advice on how to fix it myself and where to get the part that is needed. Excellent job, quick response and a total of $87, which is almost half what the "rough" quote over the phone was.
