Called to confirm appointment prior to arriving, arrived on time, and performed services in a timely manner. Received detailed analysis of equipment condition and technician walked us through what it meant. Overall was an enjoyable easy experience.

Chris came to our home and we were immediately impressed with him and everything he did. He is very professional, neat, and seemed to really respect me and the needs we had. When he left all was accomplished and I was very happy. This company has done work in our dental office and our home. They are always exceptional.

Chris Chamrad and his colleague worked for almost two hours to unclog the kitchen sink. They had to use the snake through the floor and again through the cleanout in order to get the drain running again. They also disassembled the under-sink drain mechanism so that could be cleaned as well. The were very clear about the price (which we thought was a little high) and what needed to be done. They also recommended (and we purchased) a biological drain cleaner to use in follow-up since this problem had occured once before. We were very happy with the service. Michelle is always great on the phone and since there was a cancellation Shafer was able to come within a few hours of my call. I have used Shafer in the past and will again in the future.

I would have preferred to have had them do the repairs, but they were considerably higher than I had expected. I did get two more quotes and was able to save a significant amount of money over their quote. Company is prompt, courteous and professional. However, I found them to be expensive. I would not question the quality of their work... Just more expensive than I felt they should be.

One of our Lennox gas furnaces was not performing properly on the morning of New Year's day. Looked like gas regulator was stopping flow of gas to burners. Called Shafer Services' off duty call center. We were contacted by Shafer services representative (Michelle) soon after. We were then contacted by Service technician (Tom) to try to troubleshoot problem over the phone. The intent was to avoid additional service charge for a holiday. Although I learned a few things about gas furnaces, and Tom was very patient, we couldn't fix the problem. I scheduled an appointment for the following day (we were OK with not having that furnace on temporarily since we had a dual air system). Michelle called a few times to confirm the appointment and let us know the technician was on the way. Rodney came the next day on time. We went over the problem, they previous troubleshooting, and he spent a few hours diagnosing. I had to go to work so my wife called me later to tell me that Rodney thought the problem was a faulty gas pressure switch. Rodney left to get the part and came back and installed it. The furnace is now performing as it should. The Shafer folks always wear booties to keep your place clean. They are very professional and patient with answering questions as well. The furnace was still under warranty, so the part(s) cost nothing, but labor was a bit less than $200.00. I guess for spending the entire afternoon working, that's pretty reasonable. I think the part would have been expensive, i.e. I think around $500. We have a service contract with Shafer, but that does not cover labor, although there is a 10% discount on parts I believe.

Bob was very helpful. I thought the hot water heater would need to be replaced, mainly because of our hard water. Bob found it was only the thermostat and recommended an electrician because there could be a problem with the breaker to the hot water heater. Since we have such hard water I asked about installing a water softener and he explained that since the house wasn't plumbed for that, it would not be cost effective. He was very knowledgeable.

I'm very much satisfied with the unit I purchased. When they were talking to us, there was some over-salesmanship. They kept promising a bunch of things, but once the unit was installed, all the extra stuff required additional cost. The plumbing and AC people are different. I would give the AC people an A and the plumbing people a C.

All around very professional team; from the time I called to schedule my appointment to the service. Called to let me kow they were on the way. Service provider showed up on time and explained what they were going to do. Proceeded to look at sewer line with camera, explaining everything to me. Check the toilets to make sure everything was functioning correctly. Great job. I was very pleased with everything.

The service technician arrived he was quite courtiers. He ask for an access point and I showed him where his predecessors. Access The pipes, (kitchen and bathroom). He advised me the access point has to be outside. If there is not an outside access point then he would have to access the pipes via the vent pipes on the roof. Which would result on a steeper charge. NOTE: The diameter of the pipe inside and the vent pipes, are identical! I thank the technician and advised him I would not have the service performed.

They said that they would be out around 10-10:30. I got phone calls throughout the day saying that they were on the way. At 4:30 the plumber called and said that it would cost over 500. I canceled the service.

Once the technician showed up it went fine.

From the initial call in to the installation literally took about 2 days. The first person visited and evaluated the duct work and disagreed in having to redo every duct; however, he did say if he was the initial installer in the home, he would have done the duct work differently. He then contacted his tech, who came out quickly, reviewed the air system, showed me on his phone a video clip he took while in the attic of potential issues and then showed me exactly on a piece of the unit that had gone bad. He explained that this could cause other issues and if replacing this part only may only be a "band-aid" fix of which he could not know how long before it would give out again or any other parts like the compressor. In our discussion, it was best to replace the internal and external unit for the longevitity and sanity of maintaing a household. It was then scheduled within a day to have the installers come in and take out the old unit and replace it and modify some of the ducts to better allow air flow. The job literally took then 1 business day.

When I called on the phone to inquire about the need of a pressure reducing valve installation on my home's plumbing system, Chris explained in detail every aspect of the need and installation. This wasn't the first time I called Schafer and other plumbers during the last year or so to inquire about the need of a pressure reducing valve since the cost was so high. I already knew pretty much about what he was going to say. I scheduled an appointment a few weeks away. Chris was courteous, professional, fair and very capable of explaining in detail the "whats" and "whys". The service was promptly completed. This is how I would like all service calls to my house to be completed. I am confident the work could not have been performed more competently.... which left me with peace of mind.

The work Shafer Services did was fine and as advertised. They were prompt and professional. They clearly knew what they were doing and they did the work. The only concern that I had was that they used it to try to upsell additional work which was needed, but the price they quoted seemed very high and so I ended up using a different plumber.
