The plumber tested the system and the results were satisfactory.

It turned out very good. They're excellent people to work with. They seem like they're over the top when it comes to customer service and making you happy. My wife is here right now. She dealt with them also. We were very happy with them. We also liked that they sent us an email and showed us who their service team is so we would know who's going to be coming to the house to perform the service. It shows their picture. It shows their profile, their experience, and some background information on the people that were coming to the house. That was an excellent touch on their part. They were very punctual, very accommodating, and we could say better. We'd recommend them to anybody. We've used them twice here recently. Once with a problem here in my own house and what they did for us was a rental property. We signed on with them last week for a maintenance agreement. Since I come from a background of engineering and stuff, they explained what they're doing is a little bit above what everybody else does as far as checking your equipment. They're a little more accurate in the way that they're checking so they can give you a better reading on the condition of the equipment. I like that they're going to be doing that. I'm just retired, my wife and I, so I don't want to be doing any of that stuff. I want to have confidence that the people we're hiring really know the work and they do. So that was nice to have the opportunity to run into them. They'd just been out there earlier this week to the rental property and replace a component on the old equipment. I asked them please get back with me because it's very old and let's talk about replacing it. They called me back within two days. They sent an estimator out there to actually do load calculations on what would be required. They made their suggestions on what to do. They gave us credit for the stuff they'd put in the old equipment. There's no payment for the estimate. They came with a proposal after they gave us the estimate and said this is what it would cost. Taking into consideration it's a rental property, they said you can go this way or here's two other levels you can to. They seemed to be pushing the one that would be cheapest for us, which is the way we went. We've used them a couple of times, although we were just using them to have backflow preventers checked by getting these Groupon. That's why we went ahead and called them when we had a problem here at the house last week. We haven't had the backflow preventer test done yet because it's not a year yet. We still need to get that done. They've done the backflow preventers for the last couple of years.

They were prompt and completed the work in a timely manner.

I call for an emergency services I did not receive a call until Monday around 9:00 am. I needed they to arrive the day I called not the next day. I didn't even receive a call stating that they were not coming. Why have an emergency call number with an answering machine and service if you're not going to use it. Just state that you don't do Sunday emergency calls. If you need someone on a Sunday for an emergency plumbing service call someone else, because these guys won't even call you back to tell you their not coming to help you out. I ended up having to go to home depot and fixing it myself.

The entire Shafer company is professional and "spot on" We will continue to use them for all of our AC needs

This was a worthwhile thing to have done. It turned out my water heater was about to go and I didn't realize it. The next day I had them out to replace the water heater.

Bob came in and fix the problem right away.

The initial contact was good i spoke with a Charlie. He was very informative and answered the majority of my questions very thoroughly. When the technician arrived he was very professional. Dell tested the unit and provided us with a leaking #1 valve accesment. He provided us with an esitmate of $1,018.80 to replace the unit. My brother who was visitng thought the cost and testing was to expensive. My brother had been on the water board for his city council and therefore has some insight. He looked at the unit and said it was a well made casted piece and probably could be fixed rather then replaced. My brother called one of the other back flow companies and set up an appoimtment for them to come out on 6/11/2013. The other company was timely, professional and fixed the issue within 30 minutes. Our unit passed and we were done for half the price of the other company of $45. Would seem Shafer does not offer the customer any options. The technician inadvertently gave my husband an original copy of another clients back flow assesment and it also needed to be replaced for about the same aount of money.

I called them from a list of service providers provided by SAWS. They asked if I was an Angie's list customer and then let me know that they had a discount that netted the cost down to $86 from $125. They called me in advance to let me know that their service tech was on his way, I received an email with a picture of the rep, they were on-time and did the job as described. The tech asked me if I needed anything else done since he was already there and I would save a $49 service charge. I was very pleased that they had such a customer service attitude and I will use them again.

Went well, I thought price for the Pressure Reducing Valve was a bit high.

I purchased the coupon from Angie's List to have our backflow preventer tested for $50 by Shafer Services. The following day, I received several calls from Shafer Services. I missed these phone calls, but they left voicemail messages stating that they wanted to schedule an appointment. I called back and scheduled the appointment on the following week. The following week, on the appointed date, I received a phone call from Shafer Services. Long story short, the plumbing technician who was supposed to go to our house to perform the test, ran into some complications at his previous appointment. I was rescheduled for the following week as this was the only date I would be available. On the date of the rescheduled appointment, I received several calls from Shafer assuring me that their tech would be going to our house. They were very courteous and called several times, giving me updates as their technician was backed up by several previous appointments. Finally, they called and let me know Larry would be arriving at our house. Larry performed the tests necessary. The backflow preventer failed a second test, but he cleaned it up for an additional fee and was able to get it to pass. Larry was very patient with us as this was the first time we ever heard this even existed. He took us and performed the tests in our presence and explained every step of the way. Once he was done, he explained that we will probably be having to replace the preventer next year. He informed us of the costs and the process of having this replaced. He was as courteous and professional as the office clerks we had the pleasure of speaking to beforehand. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service provided. We look forward to having them visit our home for the other services they provide.

I requested non-emergency service online Tuesday night. First thing Wednesday morning, Michelle called and gave me my preferred time of Thursday between 3 and 5 p.m. Thursday morning at 8 a.m. she called to say they had a cancellation and would I prefer to have someone there at 9. I said yes, and at 9 a.m. Larry was there. He looked at the leaky hose bib and saw that it was jury-rigged several decades ago and was a combination of old PVC and rusty galvanized that stretched for many feet to an old, unused potting sink. He said the weight of the galvanized pipe could cause the PVC part to crack or collapse, and that as long as I didn't need it, it would be best to disconnect that part. Also, the valve was old and stuck, and turning it risked cracking the PVC. So after giving me a price, he replaced the bib and the valve, attached it more securely to the wall, and took the galvanized part off. Both Michelle and Larry lived up to my expectations of service for Shafer. Since I found Shafer on Angie's List several years ago, I use it for all my plumbing and HVAC needs and have always been pleased.

The service and the price were fantastic. They were $2000 less than another company. The people were good.

A leak developed from the drain pipe of our A/C. We noticed it the night before. We called Shafer and left a message and they immediately called back the next morning and scheduled Tom and Edgar to check it out. They came on time and inspected the unit and found the problem and fixed it. They were very professional.

Can's say I was thrilled with yet another regulation from SAWS, but everyone at Shafer made compliance a breeze. I purchased the coupon from Angies List and scheduled a visit for the next day. The reception was very kind and kept me up to date and emailed a photo of the plumber visitng my house. The plumber was very knowledgable, answered all my questions, and perfomred the test in a timely manner. I will definite use them again.

Josh was very professional in conducting the inspection. There was no charge for this service. We've used Shafer for all our plumbing and A/C needs, and have been totally satisfied with their work, prices and professionalism. We would recommend them to others.

Very well. Done on time and professionally. No fuss, no muss. The city inspector who came by today said inside and outside looked excellent. All the other Shafer folks involved (for instance, in initial contact, facilitation, assisting, and follow-up) were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. These were Steve, Booth, Chris, Edgar, and Felipe.

They were thorough and did a great job. I would use them again!

Although they were expensive, the company was pleasant to deal with and fixed the problem quickly and effectively.

Went great. Amy B. and Michelle were the Customer Service Specialists and Greg W. was the technician. Amy and Michelle were accommodating, polite,courteous, and professional. Greg serviced our Gas Furnace last fall. He's awesome; explains technical issues in lay terms well. The leak sealant/detector he used will help find and leaks in the system if it fails to seal. He also was explicit in showing the temperature settings required by the system as wells as showing that all of the leak sealant was used/expended from the can. Shafer folks have great integrity. Just wish it wasn't all so expensive. But, prices are competitive given the quality of service.
