Well it was expensive just to replace a water bath in the dishwasher but other than that it was very good nothing to it he was very quick. He did not take even an hour so I guess it was part of the cost of that but the guy was very pleasant. If your willing to pay the price yes but I wonder if other people are willing to do that.

They didn't do anything about that. I got no compensation for it or anything on that particular item. They said I could buy a new one and have it put in, whatever that part that goes in there that was molding on. They didn't do anything there with that. They basically told me if I wanted it fixed I would have to take and buy a new thing and have it put in. So, it was kind of mediocre. The majority of your repair persons are very professional.

They sold me a year’s commitment to the home coverage for appliances, which was around $500. Which would include that repair, and that repair was actually about $500. From the long range. I kind of broke even and got a little extra coverage. Although at the end of the 12 months, I will shop for something more cost effective. That deal doesn’t cover hot water heaters or A/C, it is just for kitchen appliances. So, for the same price. I can get one that will cover everything. They quickly and responsibly solved the problem.

Total paid for this Sears Service Repair Center estimate was $79.00 - higher than expected (agent didn't provide over the telephone). Two Sears Service Repair men showed up on time, which was nice. They were both professional and courteous. I previously called the 800 toll-free number Sears Service Repair Center and placed a ticket for a service estimate (spoke with a male agent who had a foreign Indian accent and when I asked where he worked, he didn't reply). Two Sears Service Repair people knocked on my front door on time, which I appreciated. They were both professional and courteous. They took about 45-minutes to investigate the five (5) year old Kenmore top loader automatic washing machine. I was informed the motor was out. The estimated grand repair total was $436.74, for all parts and labor. I said thank you, and I declined to have the repair work completed, due to this high amount and the fact the Kenmore top loader automatic washing machine was 5-years old (previous Kenmore washing machine purchased in 1987 is still working great. I know and realize appliances are not all made in America and therefore do not work as good as they used to work (lack of quality controls)). One of the Sears Service Repair people left, so I asked the remaining Sears Service Repair person if their call center was located in America and he stated he didn't know for sure and stated there isa Sears Call Center here in San Antonio, TX, which I knew and thanked him. Total paid for this Sears Service Repair Center estimate was $79.00 - higher than expected (agent didn't provide any estimated cost figures over the telephone). Not certain I will use Sears Service Repair Center again. Note: Only Yes and No options are available to to use on this website for the questions, " Would you hire again?'" There is not Maybe option available to select and use on this website.

A guy showed up yesterday, but he was the wrong person. It was like a checkup, it wasn't a repair. I'm very dissatisfied with Sears. They've been out before, about nine months ago or so, and worked on my freezer. Now, the refrigerator has done the same thing that the freezer did. But, the lady who took the initial request for service must have keyed it in wrong, only as a "Checking on the appliance." So, I waited a week for somebody to show up. With this noise from my refrigerator, it sounds like three or four tin cans in the dryer. It's a horrible noise. It has taken a week for them to send the wrong person out here. Today, supposedly between 1:00 and 5:00 we are supposed to have the right person. It's not the person who came out, he just did his job. He doesn't repair, he just evaluates. The problem was the lady that I talked to initially when I called the 1 800 Sears number. She was very strange. I had to take my phone to the refrigerator and put it down by the motor to see if she could diagnose the problem. She is probably the one who keyed it in wrong, so that I got the wrong person out here to make the repair, and after waiting so damn long. I would give the gentleman who came out yesterday an 'A' on professionalism because he did what he was supposed to do, but for the person on the phone, I would give an 'F.' I would use them, but I would be very careful when I place the call to make the appointment.

It took them three tries. I don't know if it is the fault of the dishwasher or the fault of the repair. They finally got it right, but it took three tries. They came when they said they would. I think the thing I am most upset about is they charged us for the first visit, did not charge us for the second and then they charged us again for the third visit when the problem was never fixed, or it failed early. I guess it was beyond some arbitrary cutoff, like 30 days or four weeks or something. But, it wasn't much, it was the matter of a week.

Workmanship was good; however, in retrospect it was too expensive. For the sake of expediency I went with Sears because I thought I'd be dealing with one individual for all the work. Instead they hire subcontractors so I had to deal with various contractors to schedule all aspect of the job. To my surprise since the bathroom included--tub/shower enclosure, replacement of double vanity, installation of framed vanity mirror and installation of new floor tile--I though they'd paint but that is not in the scope of their work. In the kitchen they installed a new built-in microwave/convection oven and vent, removed two cabinets and repositioned them and refaced the remaining cabinets, so of course, painting was required but I had to hire someone on my own to complete all painting.

After making an appointment 6 days in advance (my washing machine, a Kenmore, stopped at the end of the cycle and would not drain) I waited until 5 pm and called the service center when no one came. They said the man had been delayed and would be at my house in an hour. After 1hr. 15min. I called back, spoke to another person who actually spoke understandable English (I think they outsource their service calls to Mumbai) who said the man would call me in 10 min. No call. After waiting an appropriate length of time I called back and spoke to a third rep who said he didn't know when the man would be out. I said O.K. then schedule me for 10 am the next day. He told me that he couldn't do that and that I would have to get in line again for an appointment. At this point I canceled.

First visit was on Feb 21st. I had a repair tech come to the house because our Kenmore dishwasher was not working correctly. It would turn off about half way thru the cycle, and the dishes would still be dirty and wet (the dry cycle was not working at all). First tech cleaned out the motor area (not sure what this has to do with the dry cycle, but there was some debris down in the motor area). Ran a "test" on the dishwasher and said all was well. I paid $188.79 for this visit which included a new one year warranty that the tech recommended. After he left, I started a load and same thing happened. Called Sears Home Services and the next available tech couldn't come out for several days. When he did arrive, he ran some more tests and determined that parts needed to be ordered (a new fill valve and a new control board). Again, not sure what these have to do with the dry cycle, but he's the expert. Parts took approximately 2 weeks to arrive, and I had to reschedule at least one tech visit because of this (they mail the parts to your house instead of bringing them themselves, so if the parts haven't shown up at your door, you have to call to reschedule the tech visit?!). When third guy came on Sat March 14th (and it was a different tech each time, so they had to start over each time troubleshooting the problem), he installed the new parts but indicated at least one of the parts was not needed. He said my model of dishwasher is notorious for the dry/heat element going out and he was sure that was what was wrong with mine. But he didn't have one with him. So he ran the "test" again, said all was well, and went on his way. I immediately started a load, and same thing happened (dishwasher stopped half way thru cycle and error code flashes on the "clean" clean light). I immediately called the number and the rep said she would try to get the tech to come back. Asked for both of my contact numbers and said someone would call me shortly, but no phone calls for rest of that day. So, Monday rolls around and I call the number. They said first available tech could come out on Wed. Rep was very rude when I asked if there was any way I could get an earlier appointment given what I had gone thru already. She snarkly said only A/C and Refrigerator repairs get priority. So a new tech calls me on Wed to say he would be at home in 45 mins. I started telling him all that had happened so far and asked if he had a new drying element/part in his truck. He not only said he didn't, but indicated that he did not have the knowledge or know how to repair my dishwasher and said he need to get a senior tech to come out. How on earth after all of this did they book a rookie repair tech to come to my house?? So a tech finally arrives and its the same tech from the first visit. After two hours, he determined that parts need to be ordered!!! He said control board was fried. Yes the same control board that I just had replaced four days prior. Its funny, the reps on the phone will say, "you have a replacement warranty, just have the techs deem your appliance unrepairable and you can get a new one." And then the techs will say when they are in your house, "just call the 800 #, I can't make that determination...I just have to keep attempting repairs." Well, I'm not usually one to back down, but after a month of hand washing dishes, I decided to eat the $188 and I went to Lowe's today and bought a brand new dishwasher. They offered free shipping, and they have a 3 year warranty for $69, vs. Sears one year for $95. I called Sears repair and told them they had lost a customer for life. Over the last 15-20 years, I have purchased 3 refrigerators, 1 deep freezer, 1 microwave, 2 sets of washer/dryers, 2 ovens, 1 stove, and yes, 1 dishwasher. But that wasn't enough for them to provide me with good service. I can now finally see why Sears is dying a long, slow death. Do yourself a favor, if you DO buy a Sears product, at least think twice about buying their replacement warranty and using Sears Home Services for your repair needs.

We bought the dryer and washing machine from them. They came out to look at our washing machine the last time. The prices for service to the house has increasingly went up. My Kenmore refrigerator stopped cooling properly late in November. Sears sent out repair people 3 different times, and they were never able to make the refrigerator work properly. One even told me to get a plumber to replace the water intake valve for the icemaker which I did at my own expense. After the 3 visits plus the plumber visit, Sears finally gave me authorization to get a local provider to come in for the repair since they could only promise me another repair visit 2 weeks from the last visit! The local repair man came in, diagnosed the problem, and repaired it the very first time he was here. This whole experience was so unsatisfactory, it's hard to verbalize it. The master protection agreement did pay for the cost of the unsuccessful repair visits, it did not pay for the plumber's work which turned out not to be necessary, and in the end it didn't even give me priority for quick service. I am so sorry I paid for the master protection agreement, but I will not make that mistake again. Also, the repair people were always late for the time frame promised.

The refurbished control panel didn't work, so we called them and they came back out and replaced it again for free. The end result was positive but it took two visits. When I called them back to tell them that the part wasn't working, they tried to reschedule me on their normal service call schedule, which meant that we would have had to wait about a week for another call. I had to escalate it up one level in order to get in on a higher level and faster schedule. It was essentially an emergency schedule simply because I felt that they should respond faster to redo of a problem that they created. They eventually did it but I had to argue with them in order to get that done.

I was having trouble with my washer. He came out and tuned it up for me. It wasn't draining or wringing the clothes enough before they went to the dryer. I went on ahead and paid for the inspection of the dryer to make sure that it is still in good working order. It was easy to make an appointment, you do it online. They came when they were supposed to. We discussed whether it was worth repairing because my washer and dryer is 25 years old. I felt like he wasn't just trying to get me to let him repair it. If I said, "I don't want to spend that much money" he would have done a tune-up on my dryer and gone on. I thought they were honest about whether it was worth repairing. It has worked great and I haven't had any problems with it since. I think the price was fine, I didn't think it was unreasonable.
