Renovate Paint & Design

I am pleased with the interior work that Renovate Paint & Design completed at my home in April 2023. They scraped popcorn ceilings, painted 3 bedrooms and hallway, installed new baseboards and doors. Blake, the project manager, stayed in constant communication with me throughout the project. He stopped by daily to assess progress and quality of work as well as answer all of my questions. Elgin and his helpers did beautiful work - being attentive to details. He exhibited pride in his craft. The workers were very respectful and professional. I love the results!

We purchased a home that needs some refreshing. Lex came out and worked up cost We are very happy with the results Everything promised was delivered They were always prompt and professional Took great care in protecting our property and cleaned up everyday I highly recommend this company Nelson is an expert at his profession. Renovate Paint are the best painters that we have used over the years. Their level of service, the quality of the work, the professional level of care and follow through was outstanding. From the first time that I met Charles, I could tell that he took pride in his company and that we were in good hands. They were patient to wait for the rainy season to end and wanted to ensure that the house was at the correct humidity before they started the job. The onsite supervisor, Barbara was there every day ensuring that the crew was taking care of all the details. Nelson and his crew were outstanding, hard working, detail orientated and excellent painters. I cannot express how pleased we were with the results and the quality of work. Our home is stucco with metal railing and metal light fixtures, they know what they are doing and the attention to detail was impressive.

Charles came out to our home to take measurements and talk with us about what we wanted. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and was able to answer our questions easily. He gave us an estimate quickly, and was even able to have a crew come do the work starting a few days later. They worked efficiently and even finished half a day earlier than the estimate they gave us. Charles came out to the site several times to make sure all the work was done to our satisfaction. The crew was professional and did a thorough job--the painting was even and neat. The only complaint we have results from discovering that some paint was dumped into one of our landscaping beds in the front yard and then covered over with mulch so we wouldn't see it. Upon bringing this up to the crew's foreman, he seemed disapproving, but no action was taken, to our knowledge. The only detraction was that I found a small amount (~ 1 pint) of leftover paint which was poured into an empty flower bed and covered up with mulch.

Higher of all bids- but well referred by neighbor- Negotiated on price well. Provided quality materials as agreed- They were prompt, through, professional, clean up was meticulous. The paint crew was very polite, and respectful- they appeared to know their jobs well and there wasn't much chance to correct them because they just did a 100% job Only thing I thought but never mentioned was one of their ladder devices looked sorta risky- Huge high roof line so maybe there was no choice-Supervisor was relentless about quality, site clean up and detail work. Painters looked quite experienced Nice Job Will use them again and also for interior.

The Sales Rep was very professional and courteous. His estimate was done by computer and he offered me a price that was in line with two other estimates. I chose the company over two others because I had used them with good result on a small project about 7 years ago. The problems started with the painting sub-contractors they assigned the job to. Their prep was minimal. I had to point out areas I wanted worked on continually as they progressed. I contracted for two coats of paint on everything, but I only got one coat and touch ups as I pointed out things that they missed. Their replacement/repair of wood problems was poor. They were not carpenters. I was on them constantly to redo areas.. I had to make several suggestions as to how to proceed for me to call the repairs satisfactory. They had to be watched constantly. They started painting the arbor the wrong color. They ordered the paint with the wrong base. The paint for the porch was ordered by the Service Rep and because they only put one coat on it, they had two gallons left over. They did not clean up after each day, leaving that chore to me. The final day was long because the did hot use drop cloths or tape (masking) when they painted the porch and had to (at my direction) clean up their spills and scrape the windows. They left everything they moved on my lawn for me to replace. Several times they left me with workers that did not speak English making communication very difficult. The overall proficiency of the workers as painters and carpenters was barely marginal.

The owner, Charles, responded quickly to our call and met with us himself to give us an estimate. He was very professional and knows his stuff. He provided us with a list of references and gave us advice on type of paint to use. Charles' quote was a little higher than we expected. In a comparison to other quotes, it was about 20% higher. Based on the quote, we decided to go with another company.

The company has a very nicely put together brochure complete with customer reviews of their work. All the people we dealt with were very nice. The written estimate we received was very thorough and specific. The crew showed up on time, worked diligently and did not leave a mess. HOWEVER, we will not use this company again nor will we recommend them to others. Even though we had it in writing as to the grade of paint we wanted, they switched to a lower grade paint. They spilled paint on our tile roof and did not clean it up appropriately, thereby leaving a permanent stain. We had to call them back out to the house to paint the window casings as we had specified originally and it took them FOREVER to get back out here even after promising us that someone would show up. We complained mightily about all these faults, especially the inferior grade of paint. WE RECEIVED NO CONSIDERATION WHATSOEVER AFTER REPEATED COMPLAINTS.

PAINTERS WERE PROFESSIONAL, NEAT, DEPENDABLE, ON TIME AND CLEAN. EACH DAY THEY CLEANED UP THEIR TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT AND DID NOT LEAVE A MESS.
