Description of Work: Enthusiastic lady who paid attention to what I liked and offered suggestions and a complete design for several rooms. She tried to incorporate as much of the furniture and accessories that I owned already in her design and did a pretty good job of web searching new items for me. She also picked paint colors and had Benjamin Moore send me color samples of them. Overall she did a great job,

Description of Work: Worked with us to come up with a plan on redecorating our living and family rooms. She used our existing furniture to suggest a new layout and helped us develop an electronic workbook to select fabrics, furniture and accessories. She followed with email with answers to our questions. It gave us the tools necessary to complete our redecoration without actually having buy from chosen stores she designated as many decorators do. We were very happy with the results of the plan especially for the cost.

Presented us with an invoice on the spot that ended up being double over what I had requested. Would never do business again with this person although she is very knowledgeable in her work.

 + -1 moreI had recently downsized and I had too much furniture and was having trouble visualizing what was best to use. She figured out quickly what I really wanted to do and worked with me to do it; including placing furniture, 'borrowing' from other rooms in my house for lighting and accessories, and suggesting size and style of additional accent pieces. Then she sent me multiple 8x 0 paint samples that are hanging all over the room. It was FUN and the money was very well spent. Even if you think you can do it yourself as I always have, having a fresh eye is very beneficial and, in this case, she saved me far more money than I spent!

Diane was prompt, professional and in addition to leaving me with a group of great colors to evaluate and pick from, she gave me some good tips on shopping for some of the elements to update my homes exterior. The project is nearly complete and I'm very happy with the results. I don't believe I could have done this without Diane's help.

She used furniture and artwork that I already owned. We hung pictures and moved furniture and floor rugs. She also made suggestions for other pieces I could add to finish the design on which we agreed. Diane also gave recommendations on where to shop for additional items. She was a complete a professional, and gave a detailed plan on her recommendations before she left my house. She reviewed the plan with me to ensure my understanding and to answer questions I had. I would highly recommend her!

She asked what I had in mind for the room, took measurements to determine the size and layout for the furniture and looked through catalogues so I could see examples of what she had in mind. Diane left the pictures with me as well as a printed recap of the items we discussed. When I first spoke with her to schedule the appointment, she told me I would be ready to shop at the end of our meeting; And she was right! I finally have the vision and direction to proceed! Diane is not only amazing at what she does, but a wonderful and interesting person as well! Thank you!

Description of Work: I need help decorating a new town-home I was purchasing - it was at drywall stages and I needed to go to the design center to pick out everything - cabinets, flooring, lighting ...etc. I can do the usual decorating - but that was a little overwhelming for me. Diane came to my apartment to see my current interior design and my furnishings. She then came with me to my new town-home to see what it I would be working with. She then accompanied me to the design center and helped me pick out everything and took the time to figure out my like and dislikes.

We were able to use many of my existing furnishings & accessories in her overall design of the room. She moved all the furniture, hung the artwork, & arranged the remaining accessories while she was here. My living room looked wonderful, & she also left me with exact measurements & suggestions for remaining items she felt would look good in the room. I am going to have her come out & help me decorate 2 additional rooms.

She was so reassuring & very up-front about how her services and prices work. She made absolute sure I understood everything & she made me feel so comfortable. Diane arrived on-time & we hit it off right away. She spent FIVE HOURS with me one day figuring out my entire living room decorating scheme all the while asking me if I had questions and really listening to my ideas too. She has some very slick tools to help with the design project that she can print out on site and leave with you. She was so thorough. She left me with such detailed plans that I have the confidence I need to go & pick out everything I need for the room. She has followed up on the phone w/me to make sure I'm on track & she is always available for questions at no additional charge. She has a great newsletter too. I can't say enough about Diane and her services. She's great!

 + -1 moreDiane was on time and when she was unable to complete the job in the time allowed she did come back later the same day to finish. I think she was as disappointed as I with the overall outcome but that was not reflected in the bill to my satisfaction. She charges by the size of the room and she gave me $135. savings because she did not recommend paint colors or drapes or carpet. Still I feel $335 for 4 hours consulting is a little steep. She is a very nice lady and easy to communicate with.
Description of Work: Diane was coming out to move furniture in one room and help with lighting problems. She physically moved the furniture several times and took a picture. She brought up lamps from the basement and also from the upstairs bedrooms. The result was that the room arrangement, with fireplace on one wall and stairs on the other, was less than I had hoped for and the suggested changes did not seem large. She did switch out 2 of the lamps and gave me clues to organized groupings to eliminate 'visual clutter'. Another suggestion was to purchase 'daylight' blubs for more light.

She stayed far longer than she had originally intended to finish the job. I love the way she rearranged and re-grouped - it makes me smile to walk in the front door.

Is fun to work with, takes the stress out of the work, and I am so excited to move forward on the plans. Before she left the furniture in the dining room and living room had been switched, paintings rehung, and china was in full display and the room is exactly what I always wanted. I have enjoyed it ever since. She energized me and my home. I will use her again and recommend her to others.

 + -1 moreIt was a very good experience. We all love the appearance of our living room now. It had potential, but was awkward; now it feels more elegant and comfortable. She is also good at making attractive table top arrangements. We have more than 12 color choices for the living room and the hallway and will use them when we are ready to paint. She either does not like wall paper or advice on paper is a separate service; I'm not sure, so I'm on my own picking a wallpaper for the hallway, although I'm using the paint suggestions as a rough guide.
Description of Work: Diane rearranged our furniture and decorative objects and lamps in our living room, and provided paint color selections for living room, foyer, and hallway. She actually moved the furniture herself. Finally she gave us a typed list of suggestions for the future should we purchase any new furnishings.
