Ready Set Redesign

Diane came to my house to help me with decorating our great room. I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure if it would be worth the money to have someone come out. It seems like every time I turn around I'm spending money on things/services that weren't worth it. Diane was worth it! First she interviewed me to find out what my styles likes and dislikes were. Then she went to work measuring and making notes about things. I stood out of her way. She looked at items I already had but wasn't using in that room to see if they would work in that room (so that I'm not having to buy all new stuff). She then drew a sketch of what her ideas for the room were, which was really helpful for me because I have a hard time visualizing things. Then she wrote a point-by-point description of every aspect of the room, ie what colors or patterns she suggests for the sofas, chairs, curtains, carpet, and walls; where to put artwork and floating shelves and lighting; what to put on the fireplace mantle (including what size things like vases should be); what artwork to use over the fireplace; how to paint our existing armoire so that we wouldn't have to buy a new one; the measurements the furniture should be; placement of everything (ie "curtains should be hung 7 inches below the ceiling and extend 10 inches to the right of the window"). It was everything from the ceiling to the floor, just like she had said when I called her. She went through some catalogs and tore out pictures of items to give me examples of what kind of furniture. She also got on my laptop and I showed her all of the bookmarked pages that I had gathered of things I like. She told me "yes" or "no" to each item, which was good because I have a hard time determining how things will look together. She put the sketch, the catalog pages, the step by step instructions, and some other lists such as what to do first in a folder so I would have it all in one spot. She suggested that when I see something I like put it in the folder or make a note and put the note in the folder. Oh, and here's the best part: I get to call her or email her with unlimited questions!! It's been almost 4 months and I'm still emailing her with pictures of things so she can advise me on whether or not they would work in the room. I think this is huge because of course you have questions after the person is gone! It was worth the $$, for sure. And she is really nice to work with too!

It is always in the works. Everything is fine with them, no problems. They are flexible in their scheduling. They took the time to look at what I had and work with that instead of coming up with a new design. They had great suggestions.

Diane did an early walk through of our old house to understand how we live and what we have. She then did a second walk through of the new house to she could plan out her thoughts for the new home. The active process took two full days of work. At the end of the time we had an organized, decorated home. The ladies were fun to be around and approached their work with a joy and energy that made the whole process pleasant and very much worth the investment.

This was a return visit. Our furniture was delivered on a Thursday, and I called to set up an appointment as soon as possible, as the electricians were coming Monday. Diane returned my call that evening, stating she was out of town, and was flying into Columbus on Saturday. She agreed to come to our house on Saturday, so that I wouldn't have to reschedule the electricians. Upon arrival, Diane arranged the new furniture and decided where outlets should go. My husband had never seen Diane work and was really impressed with her creativity. Everything looked great. I was really appreciative the she was able to come. Diane will return after the painters come to arrange our paintings.

She came in and re arranged pictures picked new paint colors and moved around the furniture. She was very knowledgeable, personable, and very effective to work with. We highly recommend her.

It was an excellent experience. I never used a designer before, but she set me at ease with her expertise and suggestions. She even gave me two options to consider using. I did use the exterior designs she gave me and I am more than satisfied with the results now that I have completed the upgrades.

She really worked hard to redecorate my home the way I wanted it done. She tried to get to know me so that she knew what I wanted. She showed up on time.

She was really good and helped solved some decorating issues. She gave me some more decorating ideas that would help add to the room that were simple. Diane always really good ideas.

The color selection was right on. Recommendations for where to place pictures and accessories were appreciated, Diane is very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I don't think I'd ever select paint color without her again.

Overall, it was very disappointing. I did not receive what I was expecting. I doubt that I would hire an interior designer again based on this experience. It was a far cry from the interior design consults shown on interior design shows like those on HGTV. I had hoped for true renderings to help me envision new spaces, not rough pen sketches done on lined notebook paper at the conclusion of her visit.

Diane showed up on time, got to know me a little before she made any decisions regarding my living/dining room areas. Asked what I wanted to use the space for, my entertaining habits, etc. She helped me choose paint colors, fabric suggestions, art placement and furniture placement. She even took other furniture from other rooms and re-arranged the living room for me to get a better idea of what I was looking for. I'm a recent widower and Diane made me feel comfortable with the assistance she gave me.

The individual arrived promptly. She first asked me various questions to ensure she understood my needs. She spent quite a bit of time looking around the house. She then pulled out various color wheels and starting asking my input on color options. Before she left, she provided me with a detailed recommendation/summary and explained to me the paint sample sheets would be mailed directly to me and how to place them on the walls to best make my color choice. She was professional and quite friendly. She insisted I call with any questions I may have after she left. I felt her services and advise were will worth the expense. AND the expense was quite reasonable.

Diane is professional and imaginative. I liked most of her ideas. She followed up with me via email to provide some additional information and to answer a follow-up question. This is a good service to use if you generally are already good at decorating, but just need some additional assistance brainstorming or pulling your ideas together.

I had several walls that had several pictures. I wanted to have them placed correctly. They were very reasonable on price, and spent time helping me.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the new layout set up by Diane, as it was one I had not considered. For all the perusing of interior design books, magazines, and websites, and all the time spent laying out possible floor plans with graph paper and scale model cutouts of my furniture, I could not put the whole room together in the time that Diane could. She has a trained and gifted eye, and the time she saved me was worth the price. She also leaves her phone number and email for any follow-up design questions. Diane was a pleasure to work with, and I am very pleased with the results.

The whole process went very well. Diane was professional and very knowledgeable. After setting up a meeting date, she arrived promptly and went right to work on the project. It took her about two hours asking me questions, surveying the room, and writing her recommendations for decorating the room.

I had never worked with a designer before and was nervous. I was totally relaxed with Diane, and she got right to work, moving furniture and hanging pictures. She is interested in using what you have, and saving money. We laughed all day. Before she left, I was given a complete design plan for my kitchen, family room, dining room and living room. She is quite creative and gave cohesion to our furniture and pictures. When my husband got home that evening he was amazed and very pleased. We plan to go furniture shopping together, and when that's finished, I plan to continue working with Diane for the rest of the house. She is wonderful.

Diane was very thorough and caring. She looked at my current set up, asked what I wanted from the project, and found out my tastes as well as needs. She gave me practical suggestions that I hadn't thought of. I love her plan for my room and really enjoyed working with her. The service was expensive, but I have no idea what this usually costs, so I can't compare price with what is typical for this service.

Diane's service was incredible -- effective, fast and fun. My great room, especially, feels like an entirely new room, which Diane accomplished by quickly assessing what needed to be done and then actually doing it in a matter of a couple of hours. Her design plan details additional touches I can add on my own, as I wish. Diane's enthusiasm and energy made the entire process fun, too -- an added bonus.

Diane came in prepared to help and she exceeded our expectations. The whole process started with Diane asking questions and listening, then there was some validation of the information, then we got to work looking at the furniture arrangement, existing accessories and artwork, identifying 'gaps' in furntiture and accessories, and discussing other considerations. After about 4-hours, we had our plan in hand and we are now armed to make the space both beautiful and functional. That's the great thing about working with Diane...she gives you the plan and you execute when your time and budget allows. It's not a "stop your life and do this now" deal. So, when budget and time allow, we're ready to go.

The paint is up and it looks great except for the master bedroom. This is our fault as the color that we selected did not work out as well as we expected. The room will be repainted. Please note that this is not Diane's fault, she can provide guidance but it is still up the customer to make the final decisions and sometimes these decisions are bad. We used her recommendations with the drapery company. This cut down the drapery selection time considerably. We only tweaked her recommendations very slightly.

she is a very very easy person to work with. She is interested in what I want. She is excellent!

This was the second time we had used Diane's services. She provided a solution for furnishing a difficult room and changed our minds about the bedroom arrangement. Diane suggested wall colors that we would not have considered (and we now love) in that room. We are well pleased and had fun working with her. Her ideas have saved us from making mistakes and help us get away from being too conservative while remaining in our comfort zone. When we had trouble picking fabric for chairs, she can to the store and helped us make a decision which turned out great. Because Diane does not work on commission, we were able to shop at our leisure and found furnishing on sale that saved us substantially more than her fee. We recommend her highly.

Diane had great ideas and did a terrific job with rearranging our furniture in the space. We have not been able to implement some of her ideas yet due to some house problems, but I'm confident that we'll be pleased with the final result. Diane is very gifted with space planning and is a visionary who is able to see the room in a totally different state than how it is when she first enters it. She uses her time wisely while at the house and types her ideas for you before leaving.
