Ready Set Redesign

It was an excellent experience! The amount of detail that Diane gave me was just incredible. She really put in her time and effort into our interactions.

I really like that Diane was able to schedule us within a week of my initial call. I explained to her that we didn’t want to spend a lot of money, but instead just cover the basic. I thought that she may have gone a little overboard with some of her suggestions. For example, she suggested laying tile down where there was carpet. That being said, she did make helpful suggestions such as centering a bookshelf on a wall. She also sent us some great paint samples, and followed up afterwards to see if we had any questions.

Overall, I had a good experience. I thought Diane was very attentive and listened to what I wanted. She provided me with two different design plans, so I had some great choices. I’m giving the price a grade of an ‘A’ because I got a coupon, but I don’t know that I could afford her regular rates.

It was great! Diane was fun to work with and brought a professional's perspecitive to our decorating projects. We are very happy with her recommendations.

Overall, it was beyond what I expected. I expected to have some kind of diagram to tell me how to re-arrange the furnitute. To my surprise she rolled up her sleeves and started moving the furniture right away. I immediately had a vision of how it was all going to look. The result of the rearranging was that the house is more inviting. It’s arranged in a way that is more functional too. Also, we picked out wall colors and she wrote things down including how tall my table lamps should be. I plan to have her back in the future! It was wonderful! Also, there are discounts for repeat customers.

I used the Angielist special deal for $100. She was really impressive and she did exactly what she had advertised and said that she would do. She gave me great ideas on rearranging furniture and being able to use the things that I have in different ways. She was very knowledgeable and very perceptive in terms of listening to what I wanted and helping me make that happen.

I was very happy with the service. Diane had helpful suggestions for increasing our seating space in a way that blended with our existing furniture. She had creative ideas for increasing balance in the room through re-arrangement of furniture (and relocating furniture from another room). I liked her idea about painting some of our casual chairs and tables to help them blend better into the room. She provided some helpful suggestions for window treatments, area rug, and room accessories. Her suggestions were all within my budget. I would definitely call her again.

Diane was punctual and listened to what I thought I wanted and then offered other viewpoints. She was able to very quickly determine what I would like even though I was not able to articulate my thoughts well. She spent almost 2 hours listening and offering advice. She then placed it all on paper and reviewed it with me. This way I would not forget what she told me. It was very helpful.

I was amazed at Diane's ability to quickly analyze the issues I was facing and offer solutions. I appreciated that she listened to my circumstances and how the room is being used, and tried to help me maximize what I already owned to put a room together that I would really love. She brought a fresh perspective that was extremely helpful and helped me see my problem room in a different light. I am excited to complete her vision for the room and really have a central living space that we all will love and feel comfortable in. I highly recommend her services, even if you feel you have a good sense of design. Her perspective was extremely helpful when you feel things aren't coming together the way you want. I hope to continue to use her in the future. I look forward to loving my house again!

Fabulous from start to finish! Diane came over to my house, got to know me and my style, worked through a lot of ideas with me, and gave me a written design plan for my kitchen: walls, floors, counters, windows and lighting, everything - all in two hours! We talked about how I use the kitchen as well as how I want it to relate to other areas of the house (a rather unusual house, Bauhaus-style). She understood my style, my likes and dislikes, tastes, and also the constraints as well as ideas and possibilities I had accumulated. She showed me colors and textures, using samples she brought and also in books and samples I already had. She also came up with new ideas including shelves, lighting, and window treatments, things I hadn't even thought about, that would actually help with problems I was struggling with (such as how to mount the huge microwave oven). She ordered samples to be sent to me and left me with a list of steps to take and places to find the materials. I've done a lot of work on the house already, but I had been overwhelmed by the kitchen since it needed everything - leaving me with no starting point and too many ideas. Thanks to her experience and vision, Diane was able to pull everything together into a coherent and stunning design that I think will become the showpiece of my beautiful home. I wish I had known about her services eight rooms ago! I look forward to using her company for future work and I'm excited about my fantastic kitchen.

Diane was so helpful, I'm already putting together a list of other questions to get help help with. She arrived on time (a little early but I was ready) and spent time getting to know our styles, preferences, and objectives overall. Then we looked at each room and discussed primarily color choices but also other ways to make each room look better. She also recommended some ways to minimize cost and avoid major remodeling. We're both so greatful for all her advice and can't wait to see the color samples.

I wasn't very impressed with them. I felt like we were charged us a lot of money because we just used information. I exchanged emails with her about it but we just weren't happy with the results. I wouldn't recommend them. I just saw that there was a lack of a full design. We asked her to come in to help with the bathroom and that was literally all she would do. She wouldn't look at anything else while she was there. I was looking for a full design workup for the amount of money we paid but that was not what I got.

Diane and her team were such a blessing! They showed up the night before they were scheduled to unpack to set up our beds and ensure that we would have a comfortable place to sleep for our first night in our new home. The next 48 hours were a whirlwind of unpacking/organizing/decorating, leaving my husband and I in awe of how settled we were into our new home within 48 hours of moving in. The Movin' Mavens labeled where they unpacked things and were happy to move things around if after seeing them, we felt they would be more functional for our needs in a different set-up. This was the most relaxing move we've ever done, and I would definitely recommend Diane and her team for assistance with unpacking related to a move. Having a design plan in hand with exact measurements, colors, etc. for things we can work on as time/budget permits will also be very helpful as we slowly make our new home exactly the way we want it.

What I liked best was that Diane walked around my house asking me questions about what she saw. What is my favorite piece of art work? Which room best reflects me and my tastes? Diane really took her time and in the end, she took art work from my upstairs hallway and brought it down to my dining room and suggested that it should be the focal point as it contains all of the colors from the downstairs and chose paints that would tie it together. She is ordering large paint chips for me to hang on all 4 walls of each room so I can live with the colors and choose which is best in all types of lighting. Diane was thorough and answered all of my questions and I never felt rushed. It was an extremely pleasant experience even though I am not artistic and am not talented with color selection. I feel much more confident redecorating with her help.

Diane arrived precisely on time and organized and hung an extensive collection of photos acquired during a professional career in the arts. She also hung a couple of trophy fish and some antique musical instruments in the same room and made them all look wonderful. She gave suggestions for drapes to finish the room. My husband is absolutely delighted with his "new" office/music studio and says the results are better than he could have ever hoped for. We both love the new look achieved with Diane's help!

Diane was able to come out the day I called her. She was prompt, very friendly and professional. We were having a problem decorating a large great room with a built in bookcase at one end, an entertainment unit in the middle and a stone fireplace at the other end. The room was off-balance and we wanted to make the fireplace more of a focal point. She began by moving some furniture around, which immediately made the room more cozy. Then she gave us suggestions for adding new chairs, moving some furniture we already had, changing around some of the art on the walls, etc. She gave us a list of items we might want to add as our budget permits, including sizes, colors, etc.She took measurements to help us gauge what size rugs, fireplace painting, shelving, etc. to buy. After she left, we went chair shopping. Armed with the list of what items would work for the space, we felt very confident that we could find what would look the best for the area in front of the fireplace, as well as the whole room. We were very pleased with her suggestions and are excited about putting them into action.

She is very helpful in picking out with designs. She has a good eye, especially with colors.

She used both furniture that I already had and furniture that I could look into in the designs. I was pleased with their service. I give them all A's. I would work with them again in the future.

My wife was very happy with her suggestions. My wife felt she need an independent third party to assist her in the kitchnen remodelling project. Someone who did not have a vested interest in the outcome. Diane is evengoing to send my wife a few color swatches for the wall paint.

Excellent. I have used Diane's services prior to this visit. Her prices are so reasonable I would not select paint color without her. She has a great eye for design and color. I just finished painting my dining room and living room and the colors are fabulous. I would have never picked these colors on my own.

We moved a house full of second-hand furniture into a smaller apartment, and it felt very cramped and looked like a college dorm room. We decided to get Diane's help with the living room and dining room, since those are the rooms other people see when they come over. Diane arrived on time, and we showed her around the entire apartment, and let her know what furniture and decorations we liked and what we disliked. She was able to identify our style very quickly. She helped us figure out what furniture to get rid of, and helped us re-arrange the rest of the furniture in a way that looks amazing - the rooms are now so open and inviting - while maximizing storage space! She had great suggestions for a few items to buy and more great suggestions for where to shop for them. We thought we would have to buy a lot more new furniture, but she made a lot of the furniture we had work really well, so she saved us a lot of money. She helped us hang art and pictures on the walls and decorative items around the room in a way that just looks perfect - like the space was just made for what she put there! After spending an afternoon with her, we had a really nice living space, and some instructions for things to buy and to follow up on. It's been a couple weeks now, and we just love it! It made our living space such a pleasant place to relax and hang out.

We were able to get an appointment right away and she was on time and somewhat pleasant on the phone. However she really was not able to give us a solution to our problem areas. She was ill equipped coming with only some graph paper, but not even an architectural scale. She asked to see our blue prints which we had, but then was not really able to figure out sizes of rooms and measurements correctly. Even when using a rule in the house came up with wrong measurements because opposite walls were of different lengths, and she assumed they were the same. Her initial recommendation involved MAJOR reconstruction, which we had already told her on the phone that we didn't want that. after awhile of coming up with some ideas that really wouldn't work because of wrong measurements on her part, my husband made a suggestion of an idea that he came up with, that immediately became HER solution. She sketched it on a piece of graph paper, but not to scale. Why have graph paper if you dont know how, or are not going to use it. That was the end result of her appointment. She spent 2 1/2 hours at our home, we paid $175, ended up with a sketch on a piece of paper, not to scale and a folder to put itin as well as a business card advertising her OTHER business(es). During the course of her visit she snidely asked "what's the babybed for?", as I still have a cribin my bedroom, when I answered "for future grandchildren" she kinda chuckled, as if that were ridiculous. My children that she met are 11 and 12, but what she didn't know was that we also have 5 other adult children as well. She should keep her personal thoughts to herself and stay on target with what she came for. After 2 1/2 hours, it must have been her time limit, because she was DONE. Even though I didnt feel like we had solved anything, it was evident she charged a flat fee of $175, but her hourly rate was $70/hour. When I talked to her on the phone I knew it sounded too good to be true, I should have gone with my gut instinct, or researched further. I believe what i really need is a design architect. That probably wouldnt have cost me any more for equal amount of time spent.

The whole visit did exactly what I wanted. Diane listened to me, took into account the parts of each room that couldn't change and helped me pull together a cohesive plan to create great looking spaces. I could bounce ideas off of her that I had been thinking about, and she was full of great & creative ideas for me to use. As finances allow, I will be implementing many of her suggestions. Even my husband & kids think the ideas are great. She was fun to work with and all in all it was a great experience. I couldn't be happier.
