I had this company come out to give me a quote on a 5 year old coil that was leaking (that they installed). They charged $300 to determine if it was leaking (this is a non invasive few minutes of waving a wand over the metal). I figured I'd get other opinions, and 4 other AC companies came out and did the leak test for FREE and laughed that Radiant charged $300 to do this. I feel sick. The other best part is Radiant was the highest of all the quotes that I got (well over $5k to replace the coil), while I paid $3500 with another company. RUN.

The technician arrived on site in a timely manner and was very professional. He did an outstanding job and cleaned up some old wiring around the area too. He did well with explaining the work that was done and answered any questions I had. The price was affordable and I would hire him again for future AC issues.

Services are incredibly overpriced; ultimately I had to call another company to complete the repairs. Unless money is no object I would look elsewhere for a more reasonably priced option.

I have been with Schmidt Mechanical, and Cameron, as my HVAC company for about a year. I had been with a so called premier HVAC company for about 8 years. I left them because of inferior service. My daughter had huge HVAC issues that no HVAC could solve. Schmidt Mechanical solved them all, for a very reasonable cost. Cameron is the most outstanding HVAC technician that I have ever had. He serviced my AC unit today--outstandingly.

They charged me $300 .00 for Freon and I called several places ,they told me a tank of Freon 10 LB is for 200.00! And $69.00 for service.

Schmidt was very quick to respond to my purchase of the Angie's list coupon for a a/c tuneup and 2 lbs of refrigerant coupon for $69. I got an appointment for 7/16 which was one week from my purchase date. I got a 4-6 pm window time. Schmidt did a great job with communication. Called day before and sent text updates day of, complete with pic of the tech. Tech Juan showed up at four thirty. He went straight to work looked at my system checked it out and quickly found a problem. A bad capacitor. He was very honest and willing to work with me on how much I wanted to spend or not. He took the time to answer my questions about what was wrong with my system. I decided that I just need a fix for now, so I paid for the capacitor replacement. At that time I did ask him for a quote to replace my entire system. As of today I received a quote, and I will be reviewing it. My system is an older unit (over 20yrs old), so I know replacement is going to be necessary in the future. For now I am happy with the work/price I received from Schmidt Mechanical Group.. He completed all the work in less than two hours, and had the part needed. I paid a flat $300.00 for the service/replacement. He credited me the 69.00 for the Angie's list coupon. I feel it was a fair price.

On a service call, it was found my evaporator coils were rusty and leaking. I could replace the inside unit with a one year guarantee or replace the entire system with a ten year warranty. I opted to replace the entire unit for $8000. The install crew arrived on the scheduled day and had the cold air going by 6PM. There were two minor items that deserve comment. The proposal included free blown in insulation and when this was not done I was told I had sufficient insulation. It also included a "high efficiency air filter", I was told I already had a clean filter. A bigger item was on their Angie's List page it states 10% discount for seniors. One supervisor told me that only applied to repairs (the page does not concur) and the salesman told me that the discount was already built in to the quote. sure it was. I would not hire this company again

I filed a service request – the furnace was not blowing hot air when the furnace / heating system was on. I put my hand up against a vent and could feel warm air, but the air was not blowing out. Schmidt Mechanical sent out a technician who assessed that the problem of no air flow was caused by a dirty coil. The technician did not show us the coil or provide evidence of the dirty coil. We trusted his assessment of the issue. Schmidt Mechanical provided a cost to clean coil - $2,600 and a cost to replace the coil - $2,100, we opted to replace since the cost was $500 less. Again, at no time did they show me the coil or provide photo evidence of the dirty coil. We trusted their assessment of problem. A technician from Schmidt Mechanical replaced the coil the next day but did not test system. My wife asked if he wanted to come into the house to verify the repair, but he declined, saying that the repair had fixed the problem. He mentioned that whoever had installed the system had done a poor job of closing the duct system tightly, thus allowing the dust and dirt to collect in the coil. Of note - Schmidt Mechanical installed the system 3 years ago, so he was mentioning that a technician from his company had not properly sealed the ducts around the coil. When the system came on a few days later, the issue of no air blowing remained. Again, I could feel heat at the vents, but it was not blowing out. I found that the issue was the blower fan was clogged with air filter material it had sucked in. I cleaned the blower fan and the system began immediately blowing air again. Their assessment that the dust on the coil was the proximate cause of the problem was incorrect. The cause of the problem was the blocked blower. The company will not deviate from their assertion that the coil was the problem, when replace the coil did nothing to solve the problem. They did not test or verify their work. From their perspective I am out the full cost of coil since that is what their technician decided was the problem and that is what they fixed. Be aware – if they get it wrong you still pay full price, and they will argue with you about it, hoping you will just give up and go away. I would not recommend them or use them again. I have asked my homeowners warranty company to never send them on a call to our home again.

Great. Technician was on time and professional. They do my regular maintenance check ups every May and November. Have always had great service and experience with Schmidt.

Since we recently purchased a new system from Schmidt Mechanical, this visit for a heater check-up was free of charge. We received a courtesy phone call ahead of time, and I also appreciated the text message updates and live tracking of the truck on its way to our place. Ray, the technician, was punctual, polite and professional. I'll be reaching out to Schmidt Mechanical again in the spring to schedule our AC checkup. Thanks!

Quick response. A/C went out (?power surge during storm) and Raymond was at our house within 2 hours on Saturday. Had a big repair and had to wait for the proper part, but it was back up and installed promptly within 48 hrs by Richard. Excellent communication by dispatcher. Schmidt has been doing my maintenance work annually for 5 years. Would definitely recommend and plan to continue annual maintenance plan. Getting a surge protector in the near future for the A/C.

Just plain excellent. From administrative staff to technician, all were professional, courtesy and knowledgeable exhibiting compassion to get the work done with the highest quality and timeliness.

Schmidt was here MINUTES after we called (a bit desperate about the situation with a baby in the house and everybody dripping sweat, though we did not say so) and JAMES not only fixed the problem but he educated us on preventative measures, got us set up with maintenance in the future -- he was a gentleman and just plain saved the day. Another great experience with Schmidt Mechanical! I discovered water dripping from my air conditioning unit and called Schmidt Mechanical at 8:30 am. My phone call was received my a very polite woman and I was told that a technician would be over that morning. Eric B. and Ray arrived within one hour of me placing my call. The two technicians quickly diagnosed and corrected the issue. The two technicians were the definition of professional, well done!
