Pool Service Plus

John initially arrived as scheduled. He examined the pump motor and confirmed that the bearings were worn out and that the motor had to be replaced. He advised me that the motor may be no longer sold and he advised me of the options and the approximate costs. He said he would return to his shop and first check to see if the motor could be replaced with a matching motor, which would be the least expensive cost to me. He called me the next day with the good news that the existing motor type was found and that he could make the repair at the lowest price possible from my options. I advised him to order the new motor. He scheduled to return on Monday to replace the motor and he showed up as scheduled. He replaced the motor and we are amazed at the improvement of the pool pump. John was friendly, communicative, and most of all quite inexpensive. Given that he had to make two trips to the home and install the pump, his charge for service was under $100. I will call John in the future when I have a pool problem. I would recommend him without hesitation.

John is awesome!! Came over and taught us how to take care of the pool in our new home. We had no clue how to service a pool, and John spent several hours with us patiently going over all of the steps we need to take daily and weekly to maintain it. He also wrote down all the steps so we wouldn't forget. Called a few days after to follow up with us too. We will absolutely use Pool Service Plus in the future!

Pool Plus Service advice was accurate and outstanding. He was very explicit in what had to get done and gave me clear instruction on what was required to correct the problem. I highly recommend them given that they resolve a pump pressure problem that (3) other outfits could not resolve. He is now scheduled to do some pool valve repairs and I'll update this review with the results. Based on the results so far, I have no doubt that this outfit is extremely knowledgeable of pool issues and is able to solve even those "tough" problems.

For a long time, I had a very sticky valve in the Polaris line. Some time back, I tried to work it with a pair of pliers, and broke off one side of the handle to the valve. Recently, trying to work the valve with my hand, I broke the other side of the handle. When that happened, the shock force broke the pipe weld to the underground line to the Polaris. Bah! I took a pair of pliers and closed the valve, leaving myself without the ability to use the Polaris to clean the pool. Earlier, the screw to the handle on a different valve had broken, so the handle was not fastened to the valve. It could still work the valve, but could never be completely sure that the handle was lined up right so the indicator was telling the truth. I took some pictures of the problem and emailed them to John on 7/27, then called him n 7/28 to set up the repair. He said he would be in the vicinity on 7/29, and would come by in the afternoon. We reviewed the work to be done over the phone, using the pictures. He called that afternoon, and showed up right on time. He did everything I needed. He replaced the crummy red broken valve with a good Jandy one. He cut the underground pipe to the Polaris down a little lower, and extended the pipe so it would be closer to the booster pump, and put the whole business together with that plastic pipe weld stuff. He extracted the broken screw from the other Jandy valve and put a new handle on it, so I can work the valve and know for sure which position it is in. Additionally, he was very personable and easy to work with. He tolerated my hanging around, watching, and asking questions. He also advised me about the use of chlorinating tablets and general pool care. Altogether, an very good recovery from my situation, and meeting a very nice guy.

John is amazing. We have been so blessed that we came across John. John is not only professional but punctual. He is A+. We've gone through 3 different pool providers, they've all been kind of shoddy and he has been tremendous.

John is the definition of a professional. I first initiated contact with him on Angies List and via a phone call he attempted to help me through a few of the issues I was having. He referred me back to the pool builder, which was unresponsive and of no help. Eventually John came out to look at the few things I had going on and was very thorough in his work and his explanation of care and maintenance going forward. I will not contact anyone else for pool needs or services in the future. John is the guy to go to!

John gets top marks from both my wife and I. A+ is a more apt grade than A. John is a friendly, articulate and knowledgeable professional and he readily answered all our questions. We both have a solid understanding of not only how the pool works and what the settings should be for all of the associated apparatus, but also a basic knowledge of troubleshooting steps for common problems. His instruction eliminated the concerns we had about receiving zero explanation or paperwork regarding our system and gave us the confidence that we will be able to maintain our pool and enjoy its many benefits. A good example of the quality service John offers occurred last Thursday, just after San Antonio got a major rain . Our pool turned green and despite the fact that I wasn't yet a customer of his, John gave me the advice I needed to shock my pool back into balance. He offered to make an emergency visit, but I was confident that I could implement his easily understandable instructions. By Friday, the pool was back to normal. I would recommend his service to anyone who is experiencing pool issues or needs repairs. I asked for his card and will be calling him first if I experience a pool problem I can't solve. We are absolutely satisfied with his service.

Called John, made an appointment, he came out and spent about an hour with me. Reviewing my equipment making some suggestions and telling me how I could fix the problem myself. He said no charge! After he left I did the repairs and no more air in the filter. I will definitely call him again and next time I hope to spend some money with him. I am also recommending him to my neighbors and friends.

John came out to review my equipment and determine any work that needed to be done, in addition to the parts that I knew needed replacing. He gave me a fair and informative review, not recommending any replacements/repairs that didn't need to be done, and recommending beneficial changes for when I do need new equipment. John is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and I am really thrilled that I found such a reliable, trustworthy person to provide service for my pool. I would recommend Pool Service Plus to anyone with a pool.

John, the owner, is great. He was very patient in explaining what was wrong with our pool. We just moved into our home four months prior to noticing we had pool problems. We had another service taking care of the pool before we found John on Angie's List. The other service did not have a clue what to do with our leaky and noisy pool. Decided to look for another pool service. Switching to Pool Service Plus was the best move we made. John is very knowledgeable, professional and honest. He won't try to take advantage of you like the big pool companies around town. We also hired John to take care of our pool on a weekly basis. You can't go wrong with Pool Service Plus! Mr. Fisher is a true professional. He is easy to contact. He promptly returned my calls. He came out to my house as scheduled to diagnose the problem. He got back to me promptly with a quote on the work required. He did not try to up sell equipment that I did not need. He clearly explained why replacement was preferable to repair of the equipment. He called ahead as promised when coming to the house. His prices were much better than I expected. The quote included a breakout of all charges. His labor charges were also much better than I expected. I would have gladly paid more for thee quality job that he performed.

John was absolutely wonderful. I just purchased my home with a pool, called Pool Service Plus from the ratings on Angie's List and yes it was a pleasure doing business with John. Basically I had a "pool maintenance" lesson and John was so patient which is rare in this day and age. He was prompt, professional and right on time. Pool Service Plus will be my pool maintenance partner from this day forward. So blessed I got a good one.

I called John as my two pumps had stopped working. He came out and initially checked them out to see if it was only the starter capacitor that had gone bad on the pumps. He showed that one of the pumps had totally seized up and the other was emitting a burning odor. He also saw that the back flush water exhaust was pointed directly at the two swim jet pumps. He gave me a quote for the repairs including rerouting the exhaust water piping. He gave me a detailed quote and we agreed upon the price and the date/time for installation. He followed up the night before to verify and was right on time. He installed the two pumps, primed them and verified operation. He also re-routed the exhaust plumbing so it will not cause these issues again.He answered all my questions and was very easy to work with. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely be using him again.

The day after I scheduled John to come to my house and replace a worn out booster pump, I had a death in my family in another state. I called him to reschedule, and he offered to go to my house and ensure my pool equipment was in good enough condition to be left for a week. It was such a relief not to have to worry about the state of my pool while I was trying to leave town in a hurry. He sent me a very nice text and said everything was under control and to let him know when I returned. After my trip, he took the time to teach me everything I needed to know about my pool and the equipment - since I'm a new homeowner. I wasn't yet comfortable with it. His rates were better than reasonable, and his knowledge and ease of explaining things in terms I understood was so much appreciated. I will use his services again, and have already recommended him to friends!

I called John to ask if he would come out to fix a blown shaft seal on the boost pump for my pool sweep. When John ascertained my level of competency he walked me through the process of fixing it myself. So I will end up fixing it myself. He was very helpful, recommended someone closer to me, and then took the time to explain the parts required, where to get them, and the process for the repair. John was kind, helpful, and courteous.

Brand new pool owners and must admit we know nothing about proper pool care. We've had nothing but excellent, prompt and very patient interactions with John. We've had him at our house now a few times since moving into our new home in June and each time he is very thorough with our service. Admittedly the reason we keep calling him out is because of our ignorance in pool care, but we're learning and John is great at helping us along the way.

Great service. Jon returned my call immediately and was out ASAP Even though it was the day before Thanksgiving. We scheduled the repair for the next week (not an urgent repair) and he completed the repair quickly. We will definitely use this pool company in the future.

I found Pool Service Plus on Angie's List about a year ago, and have been happy with their service ever since . They will have a customer as long as I own a house with a pool. I highly recommend Pool Service Plus.

John is awesome! We just bought a house, and we're stressed to the gills. We hired a pool inspector to come out and inspect the pool. He said that all these things were wrong with it. Sand filtration needed to be replaced, Polaris cleaner was broken, sand was back washing in pool etc. total cost to fix it would be up to $1,000. I'm so happy I didn't listen to him and hired John. From the minute I spoke with him, I was happy and less stressed. He came over the next day and inspected my concerns. The filter was fine it just needed a new gasket which cost like $2.00 and the Polaris was missing a screw from the wheel, which one was left by the seller. Within 24 hours we were swimming. The pool looks great and we couldn't be happier. He will be cleaning and maintaining our pool from now on. Plus, he has given all of us a great education on pool maintenance.

I left a voice message at 4pm. John called at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, he was busy for the next two weeks and wouldn't be able to come see my pool (it was very green and I couldn't fix it). I'm a new pool owner and I was disappointed that he couldn't help me, but I appreciated his quick response and his advice for me to drain the pool.

I called John in the morning, and he was here that afternoon, which was really great because we were going out of town for a week on Sunday. The pool drain was plugged, and John did a temporary fix because he did not have his air compressor with him. The temporary fix was enough to get the pump running well, and as soon as I get back from the trip, he will come back over and finish the job. I had a lot of questions on a variety of subjects concerning pool maintenance, and John answered all of them. He is a really friendly guy that knows what he is doing. The $85 I paid covered his visit on Thursday and his return visit when we get back from our trip. I have paid more than that for one visit from another company that was not nearly as responsive and helpful as John. I was very satisfied with John's work and highly recommend him.

Best pool repair experience I have had in San Antonio, by far. He has high level of knowledge and skill, is friendly and courteous, maintains good communication about his schedule and arrival time. Everything works beautifully. Will definitely use him again.

John came over right on time for a Friday night look at the pool at our new house. He went into detail about how everything worked and what chemicals to use to keep the pool crystal clear. He even took our Polaris apart and checked the insides. Very professional and has a great understanding of all things pool related. We decided on the spot to use his routine maintenance. He has been by a few extra times to work on one patch of touch yellow algea. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
