OUT ON A LIMB

When Mr Bixby showed up for the quote, I was impressed by his professional appearance and punctuality. He seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy and told me he is an arborist, so I hired him. Unfortunately he did not come to my house the day the work was done. I have no idea if any of his crew were arborists or not, but was most unhappy with what happened to a tree right outside my family room window. That tree had some lower branches that we would hang bird feeders on. But the fellow who trimmed that tree stripped all of the lower branches leaving a little cluster of leaves at the end. The branches are now long and scraggly and the leaves on the end look ridiculous! No more greenery out my window, just long ugly sticks. I was very sad that the owner didn’t come to supervise. The foreman hadn’t even spoken to him because he said he only had written instructions for the work. Worst part is that another company warned me not to let that happen to my trees, and when I talked to Mr Bixby, I didn’t see that coming!!

Absolutely terrible. Randy's responsibility was to complete my job entirely, before attending too anyone else. Instead he cut my time short so he could do what the neighbor wanted him do. We never even discussed the job as completed, because he began to work with the neighbor. As a result, I asked him to return which he did to complete the job. Mr. Randy did not handle this issue professionally. He should have finished my job to my satisfaction first, then gone over to my neighbors. Instead while his men were still working on my job he began working on my neighbors. I believe it's because she handed him an envelope with money. In any case, Mr. Randy handled this job very unprofessionally and it was also observed by several other neighbors in the subdivision.

We did not go forward with them. It was a good quote. He was late and we had to reschedule.

Have used Out on a Limb for several years and always pleased. On this particular job, the tree trimmers failed to do the job we had requested. When I called them back the owner had them out ASAP and got it done. They are top notch.

I had a couple estimates. Out On A Limb was great! The guys came out and were very polite and professional. I was impressed with the work and would not hesitate to hire theme. There price was reasonable and the work and fantastic. Great job!

They came out about a year ago. I would say an A for service and maybe a B for cost. I did recommend them to somebody because they asked and I told them who I had and gave them there name.

Also see above. It went real bad. Two trees are ruined, in our opinion. I used this company because their bid was 1000 cheaper than the real arborist's. You get what you pay for. I had to go to the nursery and buy $700 worth of shrubs to fill in the cut out area against our house. 4

Called the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and they responded but weren't able to get to the house for the job until Tuesday after Labor Day - which was understandable

I am extremely happy with the work done. All of the trees look great and I was very impressed with how well they cleaned up my yard after the trim. The work crew were very freindly and made sure I was satisfied before leaving for the day. Getting a hold of the office was a little frustrating as they seem to use a third party to take the calls and you have to wait a bit for a call back. Nonetheless, great overall experience using this company.

originally scheduled early morn but were delayed from other job (potential rain issue ?). Owner called and said would be later in day. They arrived later than what I thought. the team of 3 got busy and did the work appropriately. they pruned and the tree and selaed accordingly. they were very nice and asked what I wanted to do with certain pieces of wood. I had trim an extra neighbor limb that was getting to far in the yard. overall, very professional team. they cleaned up well and made sure I was happy with outcome. this was my first experience with a tree service. I would call again.

Very good experience. The estimator (Randy I believe) met me on schedule and recommended a good course of action for the work I wanted done, which was removal of one tree and pruning of the other, plus shrub removal and stump grinding. Crew showed up on schedule, did all work safely and professionally, as well as efficiently. Would recommend and will hire again for future trimming.

They arrived when they said they would and checked in with me to go over what the owner of the company and I had discussed. The crew began work immediately. They didn't mind that I gave them some special requests in the pruning. They were very efficient with their work and very fast, being careful not to damage any of the statues or fences I have in my yard. They were careful not to let limbs fall in the pool and cleaned up the pool from all debris when they were finished. When they were through I changed my mind about a tree and asked them to remove it also. They did so without hesitation and said that the company would just send me a bill for the change of plan. I was totally happy with their service and will definitely call them again for any tree service I should ever need. Mr.. Bixby is a certified arborist and was very helpful in giving me advice on what needed to be done and what didn't. This company is excellent to work with.

Randy and team were very punctual. They performed the work as they said they would and they took the time to thoroughly clean up. My trees look awesome. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Everything was done with professionalism and done exactly as promised.

I saw Out On A Limb trimming my neighbor's trees and loved how beautiful they were looking. Then I looked at our pitiful tree. There was a lull in the activity so I inquired about an estimate to make my tree pretty. I was quoted a price of $60.00. Then I asked them when they could get to my tree. The gentleman told me that they could do it later today. I was on board. About 30 minutes ago I got a knock on the door. Randy Bixby was at my door letting me know that I was all taken care of. I went outside and couldn't believe my eyes. My ugly tree was beautiful! We have lived in our home for 3 years and done what we could with it, but WOW! It looks like I have a brand new tree in my front yard! The guys at Out On A Limb were professional. My yard was cleaned up after the tree trimming was completed. I got an outstanding job for an outstanding price. I will DEFINITELY contact them again!

Randy came out day after I called and gave us a fair estimate to remove one tree and a great deal after we mentioned that 2 old ash trees needed to be removed. He was very patient and professional in answering questions about the trees and shrubs in our yard...we are new to San Antonio area and are not familiar with some of the plants here. He provided advice about what to do to take care of a live oak and its roots that have lifted the concrete of our driveway. Next day the crew arrived and took out trees, ground stumps and cleaned up very well. We did have to call Randy about a fence picket that was damaged by a falling limb, and he responded quickly after we left a message. We will use them again.

I called out on a limb two times today to find out what time they would be here. SHe transferred my message to Ran.. and he was suppose to get in contact with me.. He never did.. Maybe he was and quot;Out On A Limband quot;. The final call came at 3:46 from a woman in the office that said she made a special trip back to the office after having jaw surgery and told me not to give her any attitude. She asked for the estimate and there was never a date/time set. I told her Tuesday was the date but with no time estimate given, and she said that it was a mis-communication between me and Ran.. I told her that she had the attitude and lack of professionalism. And i would find someone else.. Wow, never in my life been treated with lack of respect via a well known business here in SA. Where are the Work Ethics????Plus I know a few things about Jaw Surgery. She would be in recovery and not driving..

I took bids from 7 tree guys. Selected this one for price, based on a bid from owner. Waited 2 wks. for an available date. Crew arrived and the foreman immediately balked at the dangerous nature of the job. He was a rude, non-communicative, arrogant, macho peacock in full bloom. Stayed 20 minutes, complaining. Then just got in the truck to drive off without a word to me, standing right there. Unbelievable!!! The owner called me back after an hour to say that, yeah, he had had problems with that moron before,and that he would be fired. The owner has good people skills and apologized nicely but never said let "how can we make it better, or ow can we help." It was basically, sorry. Bye. I later had the marvellous good fortune to call Texas Tree Service who performed this difficult job with courtesy, and infinite skill. Truly "surgeons" who made short work of that tree monster with no damages, mess or misteps. Soooo disappointed in Out on Limb.

. We got an estimate first and were very happy with the amount. I thought it would cost twice that much. We scheduled the service for their next available date. The Crew arrived promptly at the appointed time, all 3 were very polite and professional. They immediately got to work and were VERY careful of the surrounding plants and gardens. They were all very skilled in their work - those huge branches were gracefully and carefully lowered to the ground after being cut. No damage to any surrounding structures. They chipped all the limbs and left the chips for me, as I requested. There was no extra charge for their leaving the chips, and they left them exactly where I requested. It only took about 3 hours start to finish, and they cleaned up all the mess. This is the 2nd time I've used this company and will continue to do so.

We wanted to get the work done before the leaves fell into the pool. They didn't have a full day in December to do all the work but were able to send out a crew to do the tree by the pool. Their willlingness to accomodate our needs saved us a lot of leaf removal from the pool. They came back in January to do the other two. The trees looked great and the price was very reasonable. Their price was better than the other two companies I contacted. I recommended them to a neighbor who was also pleased. We will definitely use them in the future

Very well. We got an estimate and were scheduled as soon as there was a vacancy. This is at least the second time we've used Out on a Limb and can recommend them highly.

This company gave me a firm estimate, performed the work as described and cleaned up after they were finished.

He is really good. I have referred him to many people. I have worked with him since 2000. I think his prices are the most reasonable. I feel confident in his work crews. When they come in, they have the big grinder on their truck so they clean up everything extremely well before they leave. Randy is very easy to work with.
