Mustard Seed Moving Co of San Antonio is unique in that we are dedicated to staying small, to keep our reputation big. Instead of growing the company to add more trucks and teams, we remain as 1 small, skilled team. The owner of the company, Andrew Sengler, personally assists with the labor for 99% of the moves performed, along with his qualified team. Our website is very informative and includes information about our rates. We also are unique in that we can deliver and pick up good-condition moving boxes before and after a local move. Our box division is called Box-Go-Round. Box-Go-Round prepares you for your move by making it easy to get the right type and right number of boxes. We have a rolling warehouse of new and used moving boxes and moving supplies that conveniently goes to your location, helps you formulate your order and immediately delivers your moving boxes and packaging supplies. We also have packing service available, even if it is just your kitchen you want packed. If your move was a local move, we will pick up your boxes after you are finished with them (free service for 30 or more boxes), or you can bring them back to our warehouse. We offer full refunds for new, unused boxes that you purchased through us. We also buy back any gently-used boxes that you purchased new through us and bring back to our warehouse. Our local delivery is free, as is our local pick up service, as long as the minimum size order requirements are met. All of our prices are posted on our website and they are always current. We carry new and used boxes including wardrobe, dish pack, mirror, small book, medium, large & x-large. We also carry tape, blank newsprint packing paper, moving pads, markers and other important moving and packing supplies. We are based in San Antonio, TX and our warehouse is near Culebra and 1604, on the NW side of town. Cost is determined by the job. Additional DBA - Box-Go-Round. Additional address- 8223 Leslie Rd, San Antonio, TX 78254.

We move the contents within a home, not the physical house structure. You'd be surprised how often we get phone calls to move the entire home structure.
I had some old, fragile furniture (a small table, two matching chairs, the "shell" of an old radio standing about 3' tall, and a heavy carved teak chest) that I wanted moved from my father's house in San Antonio to my sister's house in Austin TX. After reading the various reviews, I knew Mustard Seed was the company I wanted to use, even if I had to wait. I called Andrew and, based on his outgoing voice mail message, contacted him via email. All of our arrangements were made via email; I would have been more comfortable if we had spoken on the phone at least once, but it all worked out. He was running a little late on the morning of the move, but called to let me know and arrived when he said he would. Andrew handled my move while he was handling another move, charging each of us only for the time he was spending on our individual moves. I don't know if the other move also involved a trip to Austin. Andrew and his partner worked quickly and efficiently, and left my place within about 30 minutes of arriving. He was leaving my house to go to another job, but gave me an estimated time of arrival at my sister's. He was able to unload the furniture at my sister's earlier than expected, but called her 15-20 minutes before arriving. Everything went smoothly and my sister and I were both pleased with the results. My sister has the paperwork so I don't know the exact breakdown of the cost, but I know some of the cost was for extra insurance I purchased. I was very happy with Mustard Seed and would definitely use them again.

My husband and I have moved many times during his career in the oil business, but never have we been more pleased than we are with our current movers, Mustard Seed Moving. The owner, Andrew, and his crew had to move us out of a large 2 story home into mini-storage, then 3 weeks later move us again into our new home. They were truly professional about the entire operation and everything arrived safely and in great condition. Kudos to the whole team at Mustard Seed Moving!

The move went awesome. Andrew and Greg were on time and started work immediately. It was an all day job but they were hustling all the time. Everything was handled with skill and care. All of the furniture was wrapped and protected. Nothing was lost, broken or damaged, they also set everything up at the other end. I would absolutely use Mustard Seed moving again. In fact, they moved my mother's house the next week and it the experience was just as awesome.

Andrew (the owner) and his team are prime example of exceeding expectations. We recently move back to San Antonio and had to place all of our household goods in two large mini-storage units while the home we purchased was being renovated. Andrew and his team are hard workers. They do charge by the hour, but they work extremely hard and fast the entire time so that is not a concern. In fact, this is much better than a "fixed price" total. All of these young men are neat, clean, respectful and take a lot of care in handling our possessions. The equipment is immaculate and Andrew keeps his truck and it contents in order in a way that would please a drill sergeant. The two units had been packed by a professional moving firm and they were full side-to-side and floor-to-ceiling. These were the contents of a huge moving truck that brought us here from Houston. Whenever the crew came across a broken piece that was damaged by the original movers they would show it to us. When delivering the furniture, they assembled what was needed. We are going to be using them again in about two weeks for a final move from a temporary home to our new home. We have moved all over the world in our 43 years of marriage. This was THE best moving experience ever. Frankly, I told Andrew that his rates were too low. We added large tips to both moves - which Andrew shares equally with his crew.
Description of Work: Moved two completely full 10' x 25' mini-storage units to our new home. The cost was for two full days of work. One day was $900 and the other was $800.

Andrew and Michael were great. They took great care of my mother's furniture etc. They had lots of patience with her and were always looking out to make sure she wasn't overdoing it trying to help. Everything was put exactly where she wanted it at the other end and she was extremely happy. We both would recommend Mustard Seed moving to anyone needing moving assistance. Andrew and his team are professional and do a great job. After being in the military for 20+ years and moving countless times I can say that this was one of the best moving experiences we have had.

We've moved all over the country, and the guys at Mustard Seed Moving Company are the best we've ever worked with. Very professional, careful, and quick. They worked late on a Friday evening to make sure we had beds and other things ready for us to stay in our new home that night, then returned on Saturday to wrap things up. Very personable team - I really enjoyed working with them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I would never have known about Mustard Seed Moving had it not been for Angie's List, and I truly appreciate all the good reviews, which prompted me to hire them. Andrew, the owner, was very prompt in initially confirming our moving date (set about a month beforehand) as well as providing additional info the day before the move. (He corresponds via email because if he answered the dozens of calls he receives each day, he would not get any work done!) Andrew and his crew arrived promptly and spent 12 hours securing all of our furniture with moving blankets, bundling shelves, hauling everything out to their truck, and then unloading once we got to our new home, located about 10 minutes away. I was blown away by all three men's industriousness; they did not waste a minute! They were extremely careful with our furniture and placed it exactly where I requested. When my husband lost a screw while trying to repair our dryer at our new home, Andrew went above the call of duty in helping him try to locate it. Also, his two workers graciously helped me remove items from my car after they were officially "off the clock." At the beginning of the day, Andrew said that tips are appreciated, and I did not hesitate for a moment in wanting to generously tip all three men. They made our move stress-free and seamless, and I truly appreciate their excellent customer service! "

Mustard Seed Moving company is a professional outfit. They did an exceptional job moving all of our belongings in to our new home, and did it without damaging a single thing. You may find that you'll wait a little longer to hear back from the owner, Andrew, but it's only because he is usually out on the job moving other customers when you call. It is worth the wait. You can be assured that if you hire Mustard Seed, Andrew will be a part of the process from start to finish, ensuring that all is done well. We could not have been happier with our experience, and the price was exceedingly fair considering the work involved.

Time frame and price range agreed with the quote I had received. I was very pleased.
Description of Work: Packed up furniture in 1400 sq ft home and moved it to storage unit across town. Also moved boxed items. As I already had items in storage unit, they rearranged items and packed storage unit for ease of access and maximum protection to furnishings. I am very pleased to find no damage to furniture - especially as some were antiques. I found them to work at a steady pace and give appropriate care to my belongings.

Another great move with Andrew and the crew from Mustard Seed Moving! This is the second time in a year that I have used Mustard Seed Moving and both times the moves went smoothly with no surprises. Andrew is a pleasure to work with because he is totally professional, explains every aspect of the moving process and goes to great lengths to treat your belongings with the care and respect they deserve. He is totally upfront in the way he charges his time and makes sure to explain how he comes up with the total cost of the move. Both times, the price for the move was excellent and the service was superior. Many movers won't take apart and put up a bed, but Mustard Seed Moving does! I would not hesitate to recommend Mustard Seed Moving and want to thank Andrew and his crew for a job well done.

When communicating with Andrew, the owner, via e-mail I wasn?t sure he would respond timely but I was wrong. Not only did he respond within the same day (late in the evening or early in the morning because he does the labor during the day) but he answered all of my questions thoroughly. I gave him the option of a few days I was interested in moving and he was able to schedule on one of those days. I had contacted him about 1 week in advance. Andrew and Greg arrived right on time and with smiles on their faces which remained there the entire move. My biggest concern of the items we needed moved was a treadmill. The treadmill was in our master bedroom closet which has a narrow door; it needed to go over our new wood floors and down curved stairs. My concern was in vain. Andrew disassembled the treadmill and there was no damage to my door, floors or any problems getting it down the stairs. They moved a dining room table from one room to another which also required being disassembled due to the size and weight of the base alone. They reassembled it as well. Most of the boxes were upstairs and there were lots of loose garage items. I.e. bicycles, ride-on toys, etc. As the move progressed and the items scattered throughout the house became collected onto the truck I asked Andrew if he thought everything would fit into a 10x10 unit. He was a little concerned but only to the point of cheerfully stating that he would do his best and he actually enjoys the challenge. Once they got to the storage unit, Andrew texted me a pic of the progress telling me that it looked like it would all fit after all. And when they were done there was still room to spare which was a relief so I didn?t have to rent another unit and so I could get some more stuff in it that I had yet to box up. We hired movers in the past and had mixed results. Two of those workers were efficient but the third took calls on his cell phone and even used a curse word in front of my children. That particular company did nothing but offered a ?sorry we use local people??.basically they don?t know the people they hire very well. These are NOT concerns anyone will ever expect from Mustard Seed Moving. Andrew and Greg moved quickly and efficiently yet carefully. I?m always skeptical about being charged by the hour because you never know if people will take their time to charge you extra or go so fast they damage your belongings. Not a worry with Andrew?s company. When it came to billing Andrew showed me every charge line by line. From the exact time they left their facility, to the deduction of their 5 minute coffee break to the cost of the supplies. He even left the remaining bubble wrap he?d used to pack my frames since he charged me for the entire roll. Andrew remembered the Angie?s List coupon which I had already forgotten about. When/if we sell our house and are ready to move the rest of the belongings I will call on Mustard Seed Moving. I only wish they would travel across country to unload. ;) Keep up the good work and God bless!
Description of Work: This was not a full move but we were moving several big pieces, lots of boxes and garage items from our 5 bedroom, home to a 10x10 storage unit to stage our house for sale. Andrew also packed three framed items for me.

EXCELLENT all around. I never imagined this move would go so smoothly. Loading items in SA went quickly (3 hours or so). Owner Andrew S. and his partner stopped for lunch (not billed). Once in Austin, they dealt with crowded circumstances. One room was cleared for various furniture (to be placed later). The rest of the house was in transition with boxes and furniture in all rooms. They moved other furniture through narrow passage ways here and there, offered helpful advice on how to get things more or less settled. There was no way they could have known what to expect in Austin, so they worked the basic plan in the crowded space, plus the open room and the garage storage. They answered questions on furniture placement, offered good advice and suggestions based on obvious experience. They moved bookcases, boxes, books, and various loose items, part accumulation of closing down a family home (over 30 years). Even if this had been a "normal" move, I wouldn't have expected it to go so well. They returned to SA around 5:30, with well-deserved gratuities,

Mustard Seed Moving was great. They were quick, courteous, and professional. This is the first time I've hired movers, and something didn't get broken. Andrew and his assistant were on top of their game, even having just come off a full day move the day before. There wasn't one time I was worried about my belongings, and even when we asked them to move some furniture from one room to another, they did it quickly and with no complaints. I'm not a huge fan of moving in general, but these guys really took a lot of the stress out of it.

They showed up on time and were very good at following our directions and packing our things. They did a good job and worked hard. While packing took longer than expected (see below), we felt they moved us faster than expected. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. The price was right, and our stuff was safely moved. We had no damages to our items or either house, which is important to us. Unfortunately, the owner was on his phone a ton while packing and moving us. He kept having to stop working to take calls and deal with issues unknown to us. We feel it impacted the length of time it took them to pack and move us. To his credit, he did apologize in the end and give us a discount on the number of hours we were paying for, since he was on his phone so much. We realize that things happen in life that need to be handled, but it was disappointing it took so much time.
Description of Work: They gave us a rough estimate over the phone, and since we were looking to save money and wanted to support a Christian family business, we hired them to pack and move us from our 3 bedroom house in San Antonio to our new house in Cibolo.

Unfortunately, this review from the summer of 2012 is completely accurate, and I too did not feel that this was an "A" performance. During this customer's move, I had several issues come up that were beyond my control. A worker who no longer works for us did not show up on the packing day, and my other crew's moving truck had a mechanical issue that required a tow truck, which was a first time event for me. I also had an abundance of calls coming in from the summer rush of families moving, which is the busiest time in the moving season. I had to leave this job early on the packing day to get our moving truck towed from the other side of town to the mechanic, and I came back the next day to finish the packing for this Angie's List member, so that we would remain on schedule for the actual moving day, which the customer had scheduled for 2 days after the packing day. The packing process took a long time because I did the majority of the packing by myself, in the absence of my scheduled helper. Since my box truck was put out of service for several days, and my enclosed trailer was not compatible with this member's long, curvy, tree-covered driveway driveway, I rented a U-HAUL to complete this customer's move as schedule. I was so appreciative of this family during the packing and moving process, as they were very patient and accommodating. They made me food, told me stories, and I enjoyed interacting with them all. They made the stressful situations feel like it wasn't a big deal, and if I could rate them on Angie's List, I would give them straight A's. When I calculated their bill, I went through my phone call list and added up every minute that I spent on the phone, and I reduced their bill by that amount of time. I did this without having to be asked to do it, because I recognized that it had interfered with progress, and that it wasn't right for them to pay me to talk to other people about things unrelated to their move. Their final bill was around $1800, which was within a few dollars of what had been estimated. I was sad to read this review from them on Angie's List, but it is deserved, and this was just one of those days where things beyond my control put me out of sync with my normal operating practices and professionalism. I want and try to please every one of my customers, but it is inevitable that there are going to be a few on occasion that are let down, and all I can do sometimes is learn from it and move on. Ever since this job was completed (about a year ago), I have ceased taking most calls on moves, and I try to use email as my primary source of communication with current and potential customers. For those members reading this, please keep that in mind when you call, and try emailing me at the email address you will hear on the voice-mail. I usually respond to emails with 1 to 5 days, depending on how busy we are. Thank you, member, for your honest review. I hope that you and your family are enjoying your new home in Cibolo.

The movers met me at my storage unit around 7 that morning (they were definitely on-time, but it has been three years since I moved, so I don't remember the exact time). They quickly loaded my stuff and got on the road. They informed me that they would stop for lunch (not on my time) on the way to Houston, but that was the only stop they would make (other than bathroom pit stops, if needed). Upon arriving in Houston, they got busy and unloaded the truck to my third-floor apartment. I was amazed at their efficiency and speed. These guys go above and beyond what I expected from a mover. They helped my mom load a washer and dryer into the back of a truck. After the movers left, they realized that the hardware for my kitchen table was left in the mover's toolbag, and his wife actually dropped all the hardware off at my apartment the next weekend when she happened to be in town.
Description of Work: I used Mustard Seed Moving to load the contents of a (very, very full) 10x10 storage unit in San Antonio, Texas, into their moving truck, and they drove the truck to Houston, Texas, to my third-floor apartment.
