This experience was terrible. The business did not follow thur with the agreement on work to be completed on, stated that he will not ask for pay until work is 100% complete then comes back demanding to get paid a portion because 30% of the job is complete. The quality was poor and messy. Then he threaten to make police report and was staying that he will stay inside the house knowing told him I need to inspect the work at this time I had paid 1/2 of the work already. But was presist to not leave the house knowing that my renters were females and felt uncomfortable. After I paid him 2000 more to leave. Found out the work he had done is terrible and I felt I was scam. This is dangerous business and will not recommended him.

[Member Name Removed] you are a liar and a scam artist, , you just don’t wanna pay the balance because you were scamming us the whole time. I was asking for payment because you are in Arizona and the job is in San Antonio. Job was 100% complete. You had been making excuses the whole time we were working at the house over thanksgiving holidays and all, now you wanna blast me here to make it seem you are a victim, pictures are from someone removed quarter round from cabinet and made glue deep out after we had blue tape to secure bull noses overnight. I had it in my gut feeling that you were going to burn us and then make excuses but you are a manager at a Walmart and maybe that’s the way you work there as a scammer.

Excellent work, done quickly and professionally. Carpet was removed in four rooms, and vinyl plank flooring was installed in 3 bedrooms, living room, hall, dining, kitchen and bathroom areas. Mr. Rodriguez and his crew worked well together, did a superb job, and cleaned up everything before they left. They obviously take pride in their work, and were cheerful and very polite. I would hire them again and refer them without hesitation. I love my new floors so much that I sent photos of them to my large extended family & close friends.

spoke with Mike over the phone in November 2016. He said he would be available to start Dec 19th and that he typically charges $2.50 which includes mortar and grout. He said that he would service the New Braunfels area. I decided to go ahead and have him come to the house and give me an estimate. We met on Dec 1st. His estimate... All flooring 3071 sq ft @ $2.50 sq ft = $7677 Hardiebacker 25 sheets $570 installed Upstairs 🛀 surround $800 Undercut stone and entry way tile design $250 Thin set mortar/ tripcharge $500 Master bathroom tile design $2703 Total cost $12,500 Pretty pricey. He didn't take cabinets into account when doing the measuring which is why o think he came in higher than my other bids. Also the trip charge was a surprise, but he said he could start Dec 19th and he came recommended by a friend. So I chose to go with him. Dec 10th, he texted me and told me he would not be able to start until after New Years Day. His excuse was that he had a few others jobs he wanted to finish up so that his guys could pay full attention to my project. This was really disappointing because we can't move into the new home until flooring is complete. It set pur closing date back to Jan 13th. I said okay though. It was the holidays and I thought that this might happen. I texted Mike on Dec 27th and Dec 29th. I called a few times just to get confirmation that his team would be starting Jan 2nd and to make Sure i had everything there for him and his team. I finally got a text back on Dec 30th stating his ta would be delayed another 2 weeks. Again, super disappointing. I told him that this was terrible and that he has already delayed our move in date by 3 weeks. He said he could move it up a week and start on Jan 9th. I said okay, but now I'm back in the same boat with him again trying to get confirmation for Jim to start in 2 days and I have not heard from him. Worst communication ever. Really has impacted my entire family's life in a major and negative way. We have 2 special needs children who need a home and some consistency in their lives. Mike has been delayed us getting into our home unnecessarily because of his dishonesty and lack of professionalism and time management. I think he is probably a good choice for minor $500 projects but nothing more than that.

[[customer] is a general contractor and already had all the total sq footages and was in the process of ordering materials. In December when we could not start her job said she already had someone else to do her job. , I also .did not ask a trip charge for estimate. I don't include a 10% for waste and then have too much materials left over so what comes out of cabinets when I measure is my waste% to save customers money plus there were no cabinets when I measured. I gave a fair price , don't think I was the highest bidder for 3000 sq ft floor tile , a master shower with a mud bed and design all the way to 10' ceilings, upstairs tub surround with flooring hardibacker and I was supplying all thinset and cement boards. I'm sorry I could not start your job as we planned after thanksgiving but we were working on a house remodel and customer kept adding, ended up doing a full 100% remodel as we tend to do one job at a time to give our clients 100% attention. I sincerely apologize and am so sorry we delayed your move in date.

The owner negotiated $550 price and verbally provided a 1 yr workmanship warranty. My wife and I had bought Cali Bamboo fossilized bamboo hardwood flooring, base boards, and floor moulding from LOWE'S store #1504 through special order and unpacked and inspected every board; acclimating it to the room for over a week. When it came down to the installation , his team was initially punctual and courteous. The installation seemed to be going OK until they started the laying of the boards as they started from the entrance/exit of the room vice the back wall; essentially blocking/trapping them into the room and forcing them to walk on the flooring to get out and make the cuts down in the garage. This traffic resulted in adhesive being tracked throughout the entire flooring and several areas of our carpet in the loft outside of the bedroom. His team stated that this would be cleaned up easily after installation. I had miscalculated the amount of wood and was 1/2 of box short and had to special order the remaining product. In the meantime, his team attempted to clean the flooring with "GOO-GONE" after the initial installation and the adhesive stains could not be removed. When the remaining special order box came in, the contractor returned promptly to finish the job and left a team member back to again process the flooring with "GOO-GONE" and the stains again returned after the process dried. I contacted him shortly after to inform him that the adhesive stains were showing up again and needed him to come look at it to see if the flooring was ruined and needed to be replaced. He came to inspect and stated that he would have to take a few samples of the wood and run test on them at his home and he would send someone back to clean it again. He at that point stated that he did not have money to replace the flooring. A gentleman from his team came back, was very courteous and worked diligently to get the flooring cleaned but this time he came with the manufacturers recommended "BOSTIK" cleaner vice "GOO-GONE". As the young man cleaned the product was drying and the adhesive stains kept returning in several of the areas where you could still see work boot prints from the original install throughout the hardwood floor. The young man offered to return the next day to do another round of cleaning and if needed to contact the owner to send him back out. So I contacted the owner via text and asked him if he could send the young man back out to clean it again because the stains kept returning. At this time is when the relationship became strained. His response to me was that he had cleaned it with the manufacturer's recommended cleaner and the problem was not that he tracked adhesive on the flooring but that I had bought a defective product and had to take it up with the manufacturer and LOWE'S. So I spent the next week having to go through the trouble of contacting LOWE'S and CALIBAMBOO (Manufacturer) sending photos and inquiring on whether this was a defective product issue or workmanship issue. Both separately stated that this was a installation and cleaning process issue because the excessive adhesive tracked on the flooring and cleaning with "GOO-GONE" (too harsh for the wood product and tended to strip stain from wood) was not the fault of the manufacturer or LOWE'S. When I relayed this information on January 5th to the contractor, he immediately called me back and became, to say the least, a bit more aggressive than I would expect from a contractor to a customer. He claimed that I was screwing over the little guy, he did not have the money to replace the product, I was going to bankrupt him, that I did things wrong by not paying him to go out and get the wood from his own contacts, and if it was so easy why did I not do it myself. I mean it got weird. I stated that I did not want to argue with him and reminded him that he had he guaranteed his work with a 1 yr workmanship warranty to which he stated he was not going to be able to honor because he did not have the money to replace the product. He then stated that the manufacturer and the LOWE'S both were going to be saying whatever was in their best interest; to which I made a point that he was doing the exact same thing and had been from the start of my insistence of floor replacement if the cleaning did not correct the issue. During this heated conversation, I repeatedly told him that I wanted to know if he wanted to work this out between us or if he desired for me to work this through Angie's List. To this he stated for me to do whatever I wanted and that ended our phone conversation. As a side note, this flooring was supposed to have 1/2 of a Christmas gift for my daughter as the other 1/2 was the furniture I bought her which is still sitting outside the bedroom in the loft area because I can't put the furniture in until this issue is resolved. I am coordinating to have LOWE'S come out to the house to physically look at the condition of the wood to assess if this was a workmanship issue or product defect issue. While I was typing this up the contractor texted stating he would come back and remove the "defective" flooring and see what he could do to "help" with purchasing new flooring. I am submitting this not because I don't believe him but because it is time to get Angie's List involved and the fact that he is still claiming its a defective product and most of all over the last heated exchange I experienced with him.

My husband talked to Mike on Monday afternoon. We live in New Braunfels and Mike's business is on the opposite side of San Antonio. Even though the distance is great, Mike and Manual were here the next morning! Not only were they punctual, they were a little early. He explained everything that needed to be done. They moved furniture and vacuumed before the furniture was moved back. The carpet looks great! It's flat and all the humps are gone. There is a slight discoloration where the humps used to be, because the carpet was creased for so many years. It's not super noticeable. We may put a small runner down the hallway or try shampooing the area. The main thing is that the humps are GONE! We are very pleased with the work. I would recommend Mike Rodriguez to anyone that needs carpet repair. A++++++

Mike and his crew were courteous, professional and did amazing work. I never thought my floor could look so beautiful. We discussed other services that he offers and will be hiring him again. We were about to purchase our tile but Mike recommended that look at The Tile Shop. So glad we did, we found a tile that they were not going to manufacture anymore. We ended up purchasing a gorgeous tile for $2.50/sq. ft that was originally $6/sq. ft. Great deal, thanks for the recommendation Mike!

Living room had a 1 inch gap about 10 inches long where the carpet met the kitchen laminate. The staples were exposed. He stretched the carpet to fix the exposure and to remove the insightfulness of the fray. He also trimmed the carpet and ensured there was no bunching in the carpet around. In our bedroom, the bunching was about 1 inch high and about 4 feet long. He stretched that one as well. He was extremely professional. He even told me Happy Mother's Day! We will be utilizing him to lay our hardwood flooring. Highly recommended!

Mike is very professional and takes pride in his work. If it doesn't look correct to him, he makes sure it is corrected to his satisfaction, and more importantly, yours . He makes your vision of what you want the room to look like come to life by coordinating and incorporating color schemes that compliment each other. I would refer to him as a perfectionist , and very skilled pertaining to tile application . I have and will continue to recommend Mike to anyone in need of a reliable person who does great work, at a very reasonable price .

We bought the tile at deltile, Michael arrived a started the demo process to clear existing flooring a combo of carpet and tile. It took around 2 full days to prep floor which consisted of chipping and braking up floor to clear. He started laying floor in a random pattern and finished within 4 days. Final touches to the floor were made sealing, quarter round was installed on base boards. Buffing and cleaning work area was done also. I was extremely pleased with the finished product and would get him to do other floor projects in the future.

Mike is experienced, capable, flexible, and fair on his pricing. He is also very pleasant to work with. Mike quoted and completed the initial job (demolishing and removing the existing tile flooring) to our satisfaction. After that job, we just started adding on and on and on. We mostly agreed on everything verbally, but I'm sure he would take the time to write up everything in a traditional quote format for you if needed. The "B" rating on professionalism is for the lack of formal paperwork. However, we had no issues with doing the work with a handshake agreement. I'm only noting it for others to request written bids if it's more comfortable for them. No problems there. He does work other jobs concurrently, as most do, so just work with him on the schedule. He will definately try and get it done within your timeframe or let you know what to expect. We hired him mainly for his flooring expertise but he can get a lot of other work done for you if needed. We had the normal amount of "punch list" items that needed to be addressed and Mike completed the touch up/missed items as promised. Happy Customers!
Description of Work: Mike and his crew did some fairly extensive work for us. He is a flooring expert but can provide many other services if you need him too. First of all he removed almost 2000 sq feet of ceramic tile. He then installed 1600 sq feet of hardwood lamitate, 500 sq. feet marble tile in a diamond pattern in the bathrooms, re-tiled the fireplace surround, installed carpet in three rooms. He also brought in painters for approx. 2500 sq ft. interior paint job and several other miscellanous small jobs.
