The company, Marblelife, confirmed the appointment and the technician Andrew called when he left to drive to my location. Everyone was nice, polite, and professional. Andrew arrived right on time. The repair was done and the countertops were polished and resealed. Andrew checked with me regarding the color of the fill epoxy to use. The smell of the Acetone during the repair was strong. The pit in the countertop was filled. It is almost perfectly level with the counter surface. There were some lines in the fill, in both directions. The patch is fairly obvious as it is a solid color and the rest of the granite is mixed in color. I believe I could have done as good of a repair as he did, perhaps better. The cost was $350. For an additional $100. they would seal and polish everything. I choose the $450 option. The countertops look good. I have to say that they looked good before the reseal and polish and I could not tell any difference; before vs after. What I know about granite I learned by researching on the internet. First that it did not need to be resealed if hot water was placed on the countertop for 20 min and the underlying area did not turn dark. All of my countertops passed this test. Andrew contended that resealing and polishing is required regular maintenance. He finished at the time he estimated. I put a large cutting board over the patch.
