They did such a great job! I have used Mangold Roofing several times in the past on all types of roofing, Shingles, Metal Roofing and now Concrete Tile. The hailstorm in April 2016 damaged my roof, since my tiles were no linger made I needed a complete new roof. When the crew came out to replace my roof, they did a great job. They showed up on time every day, were very respectful and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves every day. No nails were left laying around or found in the street. I was the last house on my street to replace my roof and other roofing companies made my street a complete mess, every day I had to look in the street for nails and pick up their trash - but not with Mangold. There were no dumpsters or trailers parked weeks on end at my house like other roofing companies are doing. In fact 3 of my immediate neighbors told me they were very impressed of how clean and efficient my crew were, and how they wished they would have used Mangold instead. Larry Mangold is easy to talk to and has always made sure every detail was done to my satisfaction. My first experience with Mangold Roofing was 20 years ago, they were great then and are still great! I will only use Mangold Roofing for my roofing needs. Truly a great experience from start to finish.

RoaThis was a relatively small job for a company of this size, but they handled it as if it were a huge commercial endeavor. Mangold installed the gutter and downspouts here approximately 20 years ago, and even tho the job was just a downspout repair, the entire staff at Mangold's was courteous, professional, and patient. I cannot say enough about Nathan and all the rest at Mangolds. They are a great organization and would and will recommend them without reservation.

I was deployed to Afghanistan, so my wife was on her own to deal with the crew from Mangold. She thinks it was a sub, and they were abrupt, rude and patronizing to her (ladies take note). Old roof removal: the Mangold crew removed the old tar and gravel and basically let it drop where it fell. We had gravel running down all our vents inside and all surrounding surfaces around the outside of the house had a buildup of tar, dirt, leaves and gravel which the crew did not remove. Installation: the Mangold crew installed all flashings backwards, so the first time it rained, we had water pouring straight into the house all along our back sun room and also into the living room. To make matters worse, Mangold could not identify the problem nor patch the leaks. Bottom line: non-leaking but old roof before the replacement, waterfalls in the house after the new installation. Insurance claims: Since Mangold could not figure out that there was an issue, nor could they figure out how to make the repair, we had to hire a contractor as a consultant and file an insurance claim. Two claims later, it stopped leaking inside when it rained. We still have one last claim open due to persistent mold issues. Claims included replacing insulation and sheet rock in numerous rooms and repainting paneling, ceilings and walls. Recently, we have seen discolorations on the living room ceiling, so we called our insurance again. Our adjuster found a suspected leak, so we asked Mangold to come look at it under warranty. They reported to find nothing and then charged us $150 for the trip. (Due to their past history of not being able to make reasonable repairs, we're not sure if the leak remains and will have to continue with insurance.) Do not use Mangold. If they make a mistake, you'll have to live with it for the life of your roof. (Price above does not include $7000 out of pocket for items not covered by Mangold or insurance.)

If you live in San Antonio and are looking for a company to do work on your tile roof, these are your guys. They did an excellent job on our tile roof and it's now been 6 months and not a single issue. They use only the highest quality underlayment, which is not cheap, but lasts much longer than regular tar paper. You can count on these guys to do a good job as well, they even repainted all of the vent pipes and other areas on my roof so that it would match the tiles, which looks much nicer. I will definitely use these guys again for my tile roof work. There are lots of companies that can do regular asphalt roof work, but if you have tile, these guys are the best around and you can trust them.

They are great. They replaced some of the broken tile. I knew it was going to be a difficult roof because it is an antique tile. They aren't cheap, but they are worth it. They are very reliable, they have a great product, they do a great installation, and they do quality work. The interaction with them was great, and the roof is looking great.

The professionalism from sales, crew, and ownership was the best experience in a long time. The quality of the craftsmanship and how they performed vs other companies is very different. They take longer to get the job completed, because they do all the little extras others do not. From cutting in the metal so there are no chances of leaks to custom molding gutters that are superior to anything out-there. The 18" standing seam looks amazing.

it gives you confidence that your home is being protected by a company whose only desire is to do the job right the first time. I think they are the best in San Antonio.

They were very good as far as if you had anything extra, they didn't mind. They took off all the gutters. We had a metal roof put on, and the leaf guard thing didn't work so right, and so they made them right for us. We had solar lights on the roof, and they are black pieces of stuff that come down, and we bought some paint so that they could match the roof, and they painted them for us without a charge. I didn't like one little piece of thing and they came back and replaced the section. They were responsive to anything you are not happy with.

Due to recent hailstorm damage and the age of our roof, we decided to collect some bids on reroofing our home. Mangold Roofing was recommended to me by a neighbor, who is a realtor. In May 2013, I called and scheduled an appointment for someone to give me an estimate on replacing my roof. Nobody showed up for our appointment on May 13, 2013. and I never received a phone call. About two weeks later I called them back and was given Randy Mangold's voicemail. on which I left a detailed message and callback number. My call was not returned. I guess I am a glutton for punishment, because I called them again in July after going to their website, which I found impressive. After hearing that I had been "stood up" by their estimator in May, that my message left on his voicemail was not returned and that I was referred by a customer, I was transferred to Randy Mangold. Randy made an appointment with me to look at my roof on July 15th. I was delighted when Randy showed up at my door. He listened well, asked questions about my insurance claim and took time to sit an explain a couple of things that I did not know. he left me with a business card and said he would email me an estimate in a day or two. I was pleased with the experience and really looking forward to receiving the estimate. This was Monday. By Thursday I still had no email and I was kicking myself for wasting my time on this company. I called them Friday to inquire about the estimate. The woman on the phone took my information and said she would look into it and call me back. Do I really need to say it by now? You know what goes here.... nobody from Mangold Roofing ever called me back and I still have not received the estimate as of today, 11 days after Randy Mangold visited my home! If Mangold Roofing can't keep their appointments, return phone calls or email an estimate as promised, how can we trust them to re-roof our home? UPDATE: After my first posting of this review, I finally received the bid/estimate for work on my home (re-roofing). This was sent via email and receipted in my Inbox on 8/7/2013 at 7:02 pm. I first thought it was just another piece of spam because the sender appeared only as "Kim" (this is how she has designated it to look to those who receive the emails) - in actuality the whole email is Kim "at" MangoldRoofing.com. Additionally, the subject was: "Proposal: My Street Address" -- I almost didn't read it! I did change their grade on several Items because they actually did send us a bid, albeit late. Even though they sent one, there was never any real correspondence/phone call/email, etc. The quality only gets a C because they failed to mention our roof's hail damage in the bid. Randy said this would help us with the insurance claim. The bid that he sent to me has no mention of hail or roof damage. Responsiveness & Punctuality get Ds and not Fs because Mangold actually did send the bid....and they did make the appointment the 2nd time. Professionalism gets a D because although I thought Randy professional, knowledgeable and polite while in my home, it took a bad review on Angie's List to get someone at Mangold to move on my estimate. The original email that "Kim" forwarded to me containing the bid was sent to her on July 19th -- the same day as my 1st Angie's List review of Mangold! Additionally, the email I received had only the words "Please see attached." in it. When you are as late getting back to a potential client as Mangold was with me, they should at least put a note in the email -- even if it doesn't contain an apology. Again, I must say to the contractors out there: Pay attention! Follow through, communicate, promptly return phone calls and treat your clientele with respect. Additionally, review how your employees communicate with the public. Does it appear professional? I generally don't open emails that come from someone I don't know (i.e., "Kim").

With the recent high winds, we had one tile hanging (very heavy) off the edge of the chimney about 30 feet up. They were working in the area and dropped by 3 day after i called, I was really concerned for our safety, they removed it no charge. What a relief. We will hire them again in a heart beat.

about 5/10/2013 - Contacted Mangold to get an estimate for a new roof. 5/21/2013 - Estimator called me and said he would like to inspect the roof that day. Said I did not have to be there and he would email me the quote in a day or two. I told him to go ahead and inspect the roof. Gave him my email address. 5/28/2013 - Called the office to find out the status of the quote. Office spoke with estimator and called me back. Told me he had the figures in his truck. He would bring the figures to the office and I would have the quote in a day or two. Gave the office my email address. 5/31/2013 - Estimator called me and said he had lost the figures and would have to remeasure. He told me he had been so busy because of the rain (rain occurred AFTER I was supposed to have received the quote). He came to the house that afternoon - heard him on the roof. 6/7/2013 - Called the office to find out the status of the quote. Office spoke with the estimator and said he would bring in the figures that PM and I would have the quote by Monday or Tuesday of the next week. Gave the office my email address. 6/17/2013 - Still no quote

We are very please with the professional service and the final results.

They came the first time then after it rained it was still leaking so they came back. It hasn't rained since then so hopefully it's fixed. They were great. We have a builder friend who uses them which is why we used them. Then we looked them up on Angie's List. The one main leak that they could find they were able to fix, it's the other one that was a mystery. We never had a set time for them to come.

They matched my existing Ludiwici tile roof and did a remarkable job

It went very well. Mangold did an excellent job and we would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

I was very pleased working with them. They have been good to their word. They had come back as they had to weather proof some place. There was still some leakage and they came back and fixed it.

I didn't use their services to get the work done. Installing metal roof is much more labor intensive, as it involves a lot of work. It took a whole week for the roofer to install a roof for my neighbor.

Mangold Roofing did an outstanding job. They were on time and the quality of working was great. I have had no problems with the roof. I can't say how happy I am with the outcome.

Mangold Roofing did a really good job. We were really pleased with the finished job and also the courtesy shown to us while doing the job. The sun roof is really good looking and didn't take long to do. It only took a day. It doesn't leak around the edges and the placement turned out to be perfect with the light hitting in the right area. They were very professional in all manners and left only after cleaning up and getting our approval.

Mangold Roofing did an okay job. It doesn't leak. They did leave a mess around our house. Nails were left all over the place and the crew was very rude. It took them a long time to finish. The only reason that I would use them again is that the owner came out when I complained and got the place cleaned up and said that he would take care of the rude help.

Mangold Roofing has a very dependable, professional crew of men who did a fabulous job on my roof. The men certainly knew there business and when they were finished with the roof every thing was cleaned up with a large magnet. The company does top quality work in a very efficient manner. Their prices are reasonable and we would recommend them to any one looking for a roofing company.

After initial phone call, second was prompted for the guy to get back to me. After I got in touch w/ him it was w/in a week that the roof was repaired. They did a great job at a reasonable price.
