Maid In America

Raul and his crew have been taking care of my house weekly for the past 6 years. The day before our appointment he calls to give me a guesstament of what time they will be arriving ... this is usually a fairly accurate time ... give or take a half hour. When they arrive, the ladies ... a team of two or three ... fan out and start to work. For the next hour they mop, dust, scrub and wax every inch of the house ... including book shelves. They furnish all cleaning supplies except for the cleaner I want used on my marble counters. The individual members of the crews have varied over the years, but they have been universally friendly and cooperative. I think the biggest benefit of having this weekly cleaning service is my house is always ready for company. Suggestion: The team can do a better job, more quickly, if they don't have to work around a mess. They aren't there to pick up clothes or wash dishes. Give them a neat home to work with and you will end up with a spanking clean house.

My wife noticed that she had pills missing from her medicine cabinet, after they cleaned the house. When I contacted the owner of the company about this very issue he didn't seem to concerned and said his staff didn't do this. We have since contacted the police department and wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. This is in response to the providers response: We had Rauls cleaning crew at our home two weeks prior to this particular incident. It was not until later that evening when my wife was retreiving her asthma medication from the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom that she noticed the contents had been disturbed. Upon further inspection she noticed that the contents of a particular pill bottle had less pills than she recalled.This weighed on our minds heavily. Rauls cleaning crew was scheduled to return in two weeks. The morning of their arrival my wife counted the number of pills in the bottle and indicated it on the back of the bottle. Upon her return home that evening she inspected the bottle and counted the number of pills. That number was less than she had counted that morning and was indicated on the bottle. It was after hours when my wife contacted Raul. As expected he was defensive and imformed us that this had never happened before. He contacted Martha his crew leader before calling us back. As we anticipated, Raul stated that Martha denied it . She also stated that we had two carpet workers in the area of the master bedroom. There were two workers in our home for 20 minutes making a repair on the master bedroom carpet where it meets the hall. I was home at that time but not standing over them. I can also tell you that the workers were not in our home two weeks prior when the first incident occurred. The cleaning crew was there for at least two hours. Raul was unable to explain that part. I would like to clarify Rauls use of the word, "drugs". They were a prescribed narcotic. My wife is a Nurse and she is well aware of what she can and cannot do when it comes to the proper handling and storage of prescribed medications. We would not have contacted the authorities if Raul had been more professional regarding this incident. He does stand behind his employees 110% but unfortunately at the risk of his business and reputation. Our trust and the santicty of our home has been violated. Raul would like you to believe he is the victim.

When they came in and started cleaning. I requested that they use my mop and bucket. They did with no problem. I will use the service regularly.

The ladies were amazing. They were 2 hours past when I was told, but when I called, Raul said they were running late from a previous job and would be here by 4. They were here at exactly 4. They were very friendly and professional. I will definitely use them again in the future for deep cleaning. My house looks great.

They were very responsive and reported ahead of time what time they thought they would be there on the day. They called that morning to let me know what time they were going to be here. They did a great job and were very accommodating to where I could leave payment for them.

They did a very thorough job, even cleaning the leaves of silk plants .

I called and left a message; the owner, Raul, returned my call right away. He was friendly, and I gave an honest, detailed description of the work that needed to be done. After I listed and explained everything, he told me that the company could not do it because all his people were allergic to cats. Every of them. So he refused the job, and I have to begin searching for another company. Raul has every right to refuse to work for anyone, but it would make good business sense for him to hire someone who is not allergic to cats. I had to wonder if he just did not want to take the job, and so used that as an excuse. Perhaps, perhaps not. I gave a grade of C because I cannot speak to the quality of the work, when it is done. My impression from the reviews is that Maid in America does good work for a reasonable price. I was also going to hire then to come to my house for a deep cleaning and possibly regular work, but we have two cats, so I could never use them either. What a shame.

The owner of the house we moved out of the rental commented on how clean everthing was on the final walk through they did a fantastic job. We had them clean the house we were moving into the service was the same fantastic. I had to change the date of them a few times as you know things change when buying a home, They accommodated us with no problem.

I contacted a number of them, interviewed and contracted Maid in America. I have them come out every other Thursday and I pay them $80 for the same. I think the price is right and the job is good for the money. I will continue to use them in future.

See above story. No complaints! Cleaned whole house. Vaccumed, mopped, dusted, cleaned 3 baths, cleaned ceiling fans, baseboards. Did all required to really clean a house!

When they came out, I have had them do almost a detailed cleaning. There were 4 or 5 people who were out here from 3 to as long as four and a half hours. They do an outstanding job. They just take over the house and it gets done. I think what they charge is very reasonable for the number of hours and for the number of people. They are very responsive. I have had absolutely no problems with them. They are very professional as well. I would hire them again in the future.

They do a very good job cleaning the house and they are very punctual.

It was a bad experience, but it revealed what I needed to know before spending any money.

I hadn't had it cleaned in a long time, and I really needed somebody to do a lot of cleaning for me. They did a fantastic job. He gave me the estimate on Saturday and did the work 2 days later on Monday. They were right on schedule, and they cleaned for about 5 hours. It really needed a good, professional job, and they did it. I trusted them and I couldn't be happier with them. They got rid of the odor, and Mr. Sampayo even gave me some hints on how to keep it clean into the future. He is also very respectful of the ladies that work for him.

You receive a recoding that you cannot leave a message, as their mailbox is full. This seems to be a poor business practice.

They (3 of them) work in every area of your house at once, so it is nearly impossible to be in the house while they are cleaning. Also they do not bring any of their own cleaning supplies as other services do. Felt they were pricey for the work done. Raul (man in charge) has something of a snippy personality; not very pleasant.

Mr. Sampayo answered my request promptly, though at first we had to reschedule a couple of time for him to look at the house and give an estimate of cost. He quoted a "deep" first cleaning at $195, followed by every two weeks at $120; we scheduled the first cleaning which was completed to my satisfaction. They brought their own cleaning tools and supplies; very professional.

Raul "dusted" my furniture with a dry cloth - no furniture polish, so he merely moved the dust around. There was mold in my shower and a bar of soap on the floor of the shower when they got there. The mold was still there, and the bar of soap was, too, after they finished, so they didn't even clean the shower at all. I had to ask Raul to vacuum the furniture (there was visible cat hair on it) and they vacuumed only one room of furniture. Raul asked if they needed to vacuum the furniture - this was the first time they had cleaned my house and they quoted me a price of $160.00 to get it really clean, but that didn't even include vacuuming the furniture. I have an ottoman on wheels, and the girls did not move it to vacuum/mop under it. Since then, I have found someone on my own who did an immaculate job cleaning my house, and she is the one I will be using.

I only got as far as a phone call. I could not understand the man who answered due to an accent. When I said that I was having a hard time understanding his accent, he became hostile. Obviously that's as far as it went by mutual agreement.

Company was on time, worked very fast, and cleaned everything we expected.

I hired this company to clean my mother's new apartment as I was not satisfied with the mediocre job the apartment staff did getting it ready for move in. Raul and a team of three employees were actually a few minutes early for our appointment. They got right to work, thoroughly cleaning the apartment from top to bottom. The cleaned the appliances, windows, bath and kitchen, swept and mopped the floors, wiped out the cabinets and all surfaces, vacuumed. I was amazed at one point to see them cleaning the hanging light fixtures with what looked like toothbrushes and soap! They were very pleasant, professional and fast. The apartment was sparkling when they left about an hour later. I would definitely recommend them and may hire them to clean my own house. Don't forget to print out the Angie's list coupon though; I forgot and so wasn't able to get the 15% off! Even so, the job was still worth it.

Raul and his team came over as promised and on time. They did a wonderful job! All three were very friendly and polite, I felt comfortable having them here as I left to run errands. Will call them soon to use them again.

Maid in America has been cleaning our house for almost a year. Every two weeks they come in and do a complete job, including changing the sheets, dusting the fans, etc. When we ask for something extra in the way of cleaning, it is done at that visit or on the next visit. The cleaners are very good and go about their duties without bothering the occupants. We have had no complaints.
