Lone Star Tile & Grout Cleaning

Jeff and Jessie were on time, clean, friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond in meeting my expectations. Even left me some paint to help with some chips on the tiles to keep us from having to replace so many, since we are looking at a new floor in the near future. They did a test spot, and explained their whole procedure to be sure we were satisfied. I would readily give them a 10 for customer service and quality of work and professionalism.

I found Lone Star Tile and Grout Cleaning from their awesome ratings on Angies's List. Now I am not usually that impressed with businesses I hire to do home repairs to fill out a review, but the work done by Mark ( the owner ) and his staff was exceptional. Mark agreed to not only do the job on a Saturday for no extra fee but he himself came out to do the work after I had to reschedule from our original date. From the initial phone call to the handshake at the door as he left, the entire process was handled with the utmost level of professionalism and skill. These guys are really good! They arrived early and were ready to go; they demonstrated their process and let us see what the results would be BEFORE we agreed to pay anything. They finished a little earlier than they estimated and not only gave us extensive recommendations for the care and maintenance of the tile they had just cleaned and sealed but also our tile bathrooms and showers on which they had not even worked. They also left us with enough floor cleaner to keep the area clean for the next two years!

Initially, responsiveness, promptness and professionalism were good. Tile cleaning was fair. Caulking was unsatisfactory. The company owner turned our case over to his son after the job was done. The company owner and son were then unresponsive to our concerns and complaints. We were unable to get them back out to our house to correct the unsatisfactory caulking.

Very good first experience. Prompt, professional return of phone calls and excellent communication throughout entire job. Work crew was friendly and respectful to home. Gave good advice on how to properly care for tile and grout. They missed a few areas of caulk (about 18 inches in total), but left enough extra material that I was able to correct this small error myself. They also left a large bottle of tile/grout cleaner that will last us many months. On the initial inspection, Mr. Mullis noticed that the corners of the shower were done with grout instead of sanded caulk and included correcting this problem for no extra charge (we were able to purchase the sanded caulk ourselves). Will not hesitate to use Lone Star in the future.

Jeff called that AM and told me when to expect him. He and Jesse showed up right on time. He discussed the price and procedure, then did a test area to make sure I liked the results. They did the job and the tile looks great! He said it wouldn't be 100%, but d say it's pretty close. I really appreciate that they went above and beyond to make sure all of th tile and grout was clean and pretty! They had to do extra cleaning, because apparently the builder put the wrong kind of seal on. Yet they did it without complaint, and still gave me the quoted price.

We talked, they were very responsive and we scheduled an appointment. At first, they agreed to come out on a Sunday even though I had a small project, but then I had to cancel the day before when I realized that other contractors were not going to be finished with a hardwood flooring install. After I canceled, I had to do a bit of negotiation to find a time that worked. Eventually, they came out and I was not able to be there, but my fiancee met with them. They did the free test cleaning, but our grout was so discolored and stained (I don't what the previous owners had done to it) that we discovered that we needed to actually restain the grout. They came back a couple weeks later (today) with the stain and did the job. They were right on time. The technicians were professional and courteous, and our ceramic tile and grout looks 1000% better. Both me and my fiancee are thrilled with the results. They cleaned, stained, and sealed the kitchen, laundry room, master bath, guest batch, upstairs bath, and fireplace tile. I don't believe my fiancee had even mentioned the last two areas, but they went ahead and did them at no extra cost. I highly recommend their services.

Easy process--Mark was very helpful in explaining the process, scheduling the service, and reviewing the work after he was finished. Very low-stress for us, and we are pleased with results.

Mark Mullis provided me with an estimate shortly after I contacted him. Due to my painting and carpet replacement projects the tile cleaning was done after the other projects were finished. Jeff and Jesse arrived at the expected time and immediately went to work. I was amazed at what the tile looked like after it was cleaned! It was installed when the house was built in 1984 and to the best of my knowledge had never been professionally cleaned or resealed since at least 1999 and likely much longer. It was difficult to wash (little sealant left) and my frustration was ongoing. The next day Mark arrived to apply the sealant and after two coats I was more amazed by how great it looked - super clean, and super shiny. Mark explained to me the negative effects of inappropriate cleaning solutions and give me explicit instructions on the care required to extend the life of the sealant. On another note, Mark, Jeff and Jesse have very upbeat personalities which I found contagious. Not only did I no longer have look at a dull and dingy floor with dirty grout, I enjoyed having these gentlemen work in my home.

They were fantastic. I felt totally comfortable leaving them in my home. The group that came in was very professional and polite. They did exactly what they said they were going to do.

Mark & Jesse arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Mark was very personable & described the work he would do in understandable detail. The grout cleaning proved to be excellent in our kitchen, which was very stained over the 4 1/2 years since we purchased the house and installed the tile. Results with grout in the bathrooms were acceptable, but not as good as the kitchen, likely because the bathroom tile was installed when the house was built 11 years ago & apparently had not been cleaned previouisly. Overall we were very pleased with the work done. The price was within range of the cost per square foot that we were quoted.

I contacted the Owner, Mark Mullis with the intent of contact several other vendors as well. After a 30 minute conversation where Mark described his company, the services offered, the techniques and equipment used, I was sold and did not shop around. Mark's pricing is very competitive and I was not disappointed in my decision. Mark's employee arrived on time and conducted a thorough demonstration by cleaning a 6' x '6 section of my tile & grout to ensure I would be satisfied with the results before we even signed the paperwork. I was genuinely surprised and how my dark brown grout and tile was actually a bone white color after cleaning. We signed the papers and Lonestar went to work. I was so pleased with the outcome, I added my master shower to the list. A few hours later, several hundred sq ft of floor tile and grout was clean and sealed and my master shower looked great. The entire house is bright and fresh as a result of Lonestar's quality service. Lonestar offers a Military discount which is a plus. As a Veteran, Mark understands the sacrifice service member and the families make and is quick to offer a discount to recognize our sacrifice and service. I plan to use Lonestar to seal the grout in a custom home I'm building as well. I will be a repeat customer for years to come.

Dealing with the owner - Mark Mullis - via email was easy and he was quite responsive. I was not there when the work was done, so I cannot speak specifically to the punctuality, but the whole service was quite professional, so I'm sure they were on time. Overall I am very happy with the service.

I was pleased with the outcome. The price at first seemed a little high, but after seeing the equipment needed to clean the tile and the work involved, the price seemed worth it to have the job done right. I would definitely use this company again.

Jeff and Mike did an excellent job. I had a lot of square footage of tile and they took their time in making sure everything was clean. Services were explained and maintenance was reviewed.

It was outstanding service. They arrived at the appointment time and they gave me a demonstration. I feel they went above and beyond and it is very good to work with people that you can trust like them. Now my tiles look almost brand new. They gave me instructions on how to maintain the grout.

The estimate I got was for the shower only. My request was for the entire bathroom, so I ended up paying more than what I expected. The two men did a professional job. The grout they used to fix some cracks does not match the original grout. I was told if I was not happy, they would come back and dye it. I have not decided to have them back out to fix it. In the future, I will definitely have them come out again to clean and seal other parts of my home. Thanks, guys!

They arrived exactly on time, provided a brief demo and prepared me for what to expect for the duration of their time there at the house. I was totally amazed with the results. The floors have never looked better. The grout is perfectly clean. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it.

We had 11yo master shower grout repaired and/or color stained. Only owned home 1hr so we are unsure what had previously been done to shower, it looked awful and nothing would make it look better other than removing grout and re-grouting. There were also several cracks and these were repaired as well. Mark called the day before to confirm appointment and 2 man crew arrived exactly on time (even in the downpour of rain this am!). Took a look at situation and told me exactly what they would need to do. Explained the potential dust to me and asked if there was anything I'd like to remove from the bathroom so it didn't end up covered in dust. They put towels around the door (their own towels, not my good ones!) to keep the dust contained and wiped off surfaces once they were completed. They even cleaned the shower glass when they were done!! They asked me to come inspect the work before collecting my payment. Guys were very professional and courteous (even to my dog). MY SHOWER LOOKS BRAND NEW! I wish I would have taken a before pic! I am so ecstatic that I am going to have them clean and seal my floors when they come back to seal my NEW grout. I mentioned my plans for marble counters in my bathroom and they kindly warned me about how easily marble can be damaged, even by toothpaste (what?!). They said they are fixing marble in bathrooms at least twice a week. Thanks for the free advice, they could have just let me go down that path knowing I was sure to need them in the future! :) I will definitely recommend Lone Star to my friends and I can hardly wait to get my grout sealed so I can use my beautiful shower! This company is outstanding! Jeff did the work in my home and he did a great job. He even cleaned baseboards and the dryer vent out for me. I never had the privilege of having the person performing the services go above what was paid for before, but Jeff did. They are very reasonable, and my tile looks new again. Both Mark and Jeff were prompt, professional, and conscientious.

The tile got cleaned, but my cabinets were damaged to the tune of over $2000. This process involves high pressure spraying of your floor that results in splashing up on nearby surfaces. BEWARE that you must do 2 things before you let this company into your house. First, take detailed “before” photographs of everything in the splash zone. Second, cover everything in the splash zone. We did not know we had to take these two steps and, after several months of calls, we got a letter that said “see you in court” if you want this company to pay for the cost of repairing your cabinets. FOREWARNED is forearmed.

Simply outstanding. Provided a very acceptable quote for the work to be done. Several tiles were damaged and had been there since the house was built 25 years ago. Agreed to try and find the tiles if at all possible, but explained what could be done to repair the tiles if replacements could not be found, and stated what the price would be for the repair. Comfirmed the appointment time several days before the work was done. Arrived at the appointed time. Two workmen were most professional , congenial, and well groomed. Very careful in providing protective covering for areas that could be affected with the cleaning and polishing. Arrived with the matching tile, found from a vendor who deals in tile remnants. All traces of scuff marks, scratches and acid burns were removed and the floor returned to the luster of 25 years previous. Both my wife and I are prefectionists, and are critical of service people who overpromise and underperform. We can honestly say that we feel Lone Star underpromised and overperformed. A delightful experience.

JEFF CAME AND WAS VERY NEAT, RESPECTABLE, POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE CLEANED OUT REDICULOUSLY FILTHY GROUT IN OUR KITCHEN AND FAMILY ROOM AND SEALED IT FOR US. (SOMETHING OUR BUILDER SHOULD HAVE DONE, RIGHT!! BUT WE DIDN' T KNOW WHEN WE MOVED IN!) HE FINISHED IN A MATTER OF A FEW HOURS AND WE FEEL LIKE WE HAVE A NEW FLOOR AGAIN. HE ADVISED US OF THEIR OTHER SERVICES AND AM SURE WE WILL USE THEM TO CLEAN OUR CARPETS AND POSSIBLY SEAL THE ROCK ON OUR HOME AND STAIN OUR PATIO. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO CALL THEM AGAIN!!! THEY USE EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS AND GO TO ALL ENDS TO TO KEEP UP-TO-DATE ON METHODS OF WORKMANSHIP. HAPPY ROCKWALL RANCH HOMEOWNER
