I first contacted Dan Potter from Lone Star Fence Staining on Oct 1st. 2009. He quickly came out for a free estimate. I chose to contact him because he did a neighbors fence stain job which did look nice initially. He did offer a military discount however his price wound up being slightly higher then another company in this area. We wanted our fence staining completed by November 5th, 2009. I thought nearly 5 weeks would have been enough notice to get this job done. Instead we were given the runaround and many excuses. He did come over approx one week after our initial date we got the estimate. He just appeared at the door saying he was here to bleach our fence. I thought this was unprofessional and that he should have contacted us first. I felt as if I was put on the spot and didn't appreciate that. I contacted him almost a week later to see when he would be able to complete the next step to actually stain the fence. We were given many different excuses over the course of 5 weeks. I will say that Dan was very pleasant in the beginning but quickly turned once he completed step one of the job. (bleaching) He did contact us on November 4 and said that he was able to come do the staining. At this point in time we were fed up with the excuses and decided to get estimates from other companies. I told him that we decided to go with another company and that we felt he was unprofessional and had poor communication over those 5 weeks. He became angry and proceeded to yell at me. Once he stopped yelling he told me that I owed him for the bleaching job. I said that was fine and asked what that cost would be. He paused for a moment then continued to yell. He then hung up on me. We are truly glad that we saw his "true colors" before he was able to complete the job. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in my life.
