The price was decent in comparison to other quotes we obtained, but the sales person we were assigned was inexperienced and often displayed an "I'm too busy for you" attitude. Still, I liked the way they approached the job (laser measure and cut, slab-smith to see the layout, decent people in the shop). We found our granite at Triton (those people are amazing) which raised our price a little. Stock granite will always be cheaper because they buy it in bulk. 80% deposit was more than the 50% others wanted. Got the contract and found an issue stating a time to complete in relation to the install date, however, no install date was included with the contract. When I approached the sales rep with this issue, she stated they would work that out once the contract and deposit were in. I stated, I can't sign a contract that refers to a date that isn't included. Emailed the owner and the contract was revised to show an approximate date. Install date was actually pushed up in response to this issue. Funny to think how many people sign that contract without a date. Time came for the install... The installers showed up on time and everything turned out beautifully. Precise cuts and good seams, looks amazing. Installer was top notch with a high attention to detail (I don't know if he does all their jobs). We did have 2 issues to discuss with the sales rep. No samples and a grimy feel to the counters. This call was met with an "I'm to busy for you attitude" and excuses vs saying we'll make it right. I emailed the owner. Next day, installer brought samples and re-cleaned the counters. When I called to settle up the balance, no thank you for your business or anything like it. Not even an email from the owner asking if everything turned out well. My take: Decent prices. Good people. Current technology with laser measure/cut and slab-smith. Top notch installer. Poor customer service, maybe just inexperienced sales rep, but I think it runs deeper. There are many granite installers out there, but the others we contacted had more serious issues for us. Natural Stone Design was trying to nickel and dime us, Granite Brothers were using outdated techniques, and Pantet Granite/PG Stone was way over priced. If you pick Keystone Granite you will get top quality using current techniques at a decent price with no hidden fees.

Description of Work: I just went to court over services not done with this contractor, Kirk Heymann. Angie's List tried to work with him over a year also. He would said he would help but never showed up for work promised. He took money of approx. $5000 from me and only performed 1/2 work. The judge awarded me over $1000 for the 5 burner cooktop he took out of my house. Kirk said it was broken after he unplugged from wall so granite could be placed. He said he would be back with it the next week. This never happened. I also had to replace the backsplash in kitchen and complete bathroom. The judge did not reward me the work that was not done because I had no receipts for work replacement. The court policemen told me he had to escort me out of the courthouse to my car for my safety. He said that Kirk was not behaving normally after the judgement. I had seen his temper before and would not want him back inside or outside of my house.

Buyer Beware / Still In the Dark After months of visiting Fabricators, Slab Yards, and Combination Fabricator / Slab yards I chose Key Stone Granite because of all of the hundreds of granite slabs I viewed, the perfect slab for my project. was one I had seen at Key Stone. During those months of research I visited many of the slab yards, fabricators and the combination of the two several times. On my first visit to Key Stone I dealt David M. Upon leaving he took my personal information and xeroxed my copies of the project. *The first page was a detailed drawing of the 3 counter tops and 1 breakfast / serving bar including the the dimensions of all four pieces. *The second page included figures including the length times the width of each piece for the number of square feet of each piece. I made my decision on April 4, 2014. At that time I was asked for a deposit of approximately half of the total cost. Fabrication and Install for the slab that I chose was priced at $66.00 a square foot. My calculation was 58 sq. ft. After conferring with the owner, John Monahan they gave me a 60 sq. ft. figure and I accepted. I gave them $2100.00. On Monday, April 7, Randall from Key Stone called to let me know that he would be coming at 1:00 to do the template. *Once there he looked over the Formica counter tops and the breakfast / serving bar that were in place. He determined that because I was having tile backslashes installed after the granite was in place, the Formica counter tops and breakfast / serving bar had to be removed to get a more precise measurement. As luck would have it I got a return phone call right after Randall left from Habitat for Humanity and they could remove the Formica that afternoon. I called Randall to let him know and he indicated that he could come back on Tuesday. I made two visits to Key Stone prior to install. *The first visit was to drop off the new stainless steel sink . *The second visit was to pick up the sink. I also sat with Eric and looked at the Slab Smith computer pictures of the counter tops and the breakfast / serving bar. The install date was May 5th. I called Key Stone and paid the balance that day of $2111.00 as was asked. After much cleanup, the installation of my sink and disposal, and hook up of my gas stove top I was ready to put my kitchen back together. As I placed the first of three bar stools at the bar my heart sank and I immediately got that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach! The bar was a full 8 inches short of the 23 inch width, with an overhang of a 17 inch clearance for leg room. He determined that because I was having tile backslashes installed after the granite was in place, the Formica counter tops and breakfast /serving s heart sick and devastated after all of the work and attention to detail that I put into this project that began for me in February. My first call was to Randall who produced the template for the pieces. I let him know in the message I left that it was in reference to the bar. I never received a return phone call from Randall. My next phone call was to the owner John Monahan. I spoke to the receptionist, Stephanie. I ask for two things, a receipt for the payment on May 5th and to speak to John. She said she would email the paid receipt and asked if my request to speak to the owner had to do with the bar. I said yes. She said that he was involved and not available but that she would let him know. Her email with the receipt, and quot;Nancy, I've attached your paid receipts as requested. In Regards to the bar top, I let the owner know to contact you as soon as he has the chance.and quot; It NEVER happened! To this writing there has been no contact of any kind from anyone at Key Stone! What I wanted from Mr Monahan, was to work with me, move forward, and replace the bar. I have learned since that a 15/16 inch bar is and quot;standardand quot; for some companies. *Please note the asterisks (*) I feel that each represents an opportunity Key Stone had to discuss the 23 inch breakfast /serving bar in the drawing and that I was charged for in the square feet total I paid them. Sublime Custom Stone to the Rescue I decided to call Sublime. I had talked with them several times and they had my paper work on file. I made an appointment with the owner Shawn Baumler. He assured me he could give me exactly what I wanted. He knew Key Stone and John Monahan. After our appointment Shawn called to talk to Mr Monahan about purchasing reminiscences of the slabs from my project . When asked what the call was in reference to he was told Mr Monahan was not available. Mr Monahan never returned his call either. Please see Sublime Custom Stone Reviews In closing.... I have my 23 inch bar! It cost me an additional $1755.00. Fourteen forty five $1445.00 of that was for the reminiscence piece charged by Key Stone. Sublime had a much smaller piece to work with and was still able to fabricate one piece...seamless! Not so for Key Stone. Beautiful job! Total Cost $5,966.00

We selected Keystone from the Angie's List recommendations and from the recommendation of a neighbor. We met with Terry and he explained the procedures and answered our questions. Terry was quite helpful on guiding us forward. Keystone displays many of their products in an indoor showroom. They stock granite in lieu of going to a separate stone yard. Keystone employees Kenny and Anthony removed the old countertop and tile backspash, they installed a granite countertop with undermount sink, and cut the space for a new cooktop. Keystone subcontracted the tile installation and the two man crew, Ferando and Albert, were excellant. The Keystone employees at the house were knowledgeable, friendly, hardworking, and as neat and clean as possible. Additional personal costs were to hire a plumber to remove the old sink and plumbing and to install a new faucet and reconnect the new sink. Keystone's recommendation for a plumber (Cowboy Plumbing Services) was excellant. This whole process took four days.

They were timely and professional and everyone there was a pleasure to work with. Once I had my granite selection picked they had it installed within a week...even though it was an out of town job. They did a beautiful job and even thou the kitchen was 40 years old they were still able to work with the older cabinets and countertops to make everything look perfect!
Description of Work: We had granite put in a house out of town and wanted a local company to do it. We hired Keystone Granite to perform the services because they had the best selection of granite and the color I was looking for.

Terry with Keystone granite is wonderful. Helped me select my granite too. Very professional and helpful. After they had installed our kitchen countertops, I called to see if they could do our bathroom too. They had it done right away. Did a great job. Terry and Dorthey walked me through the process and explained everything. VERY HAPPY with this company.
