Here's more items: 6. Warranty not provided. After 2 months, the Air Conditioning unit broke down and he would not fix it. I paid $170 to another A/C service company to provide warranty work. 7. Misrepresentation. Texas Residential Construction Commission TRCC Warranty. Keuper represents that he is a TRCC registered builder. However, he did not honor the warranty required by the TRCC to be provided. He has not done any warranty work for my home. We have filed a TRCC complaint against him. 8. Incomplete/defective work items: a. kitchen cabinets, Keuper was to install them per the home improvement store's cabinet design, he didn't. b. 30 defects in the first floor tile work. The tile has to be totally replaced, it's so bad. c. Electric lighting not installed properly or completed. d. Steel beam was installed, pushing up the upstairs floor. He did not install it according to the architect drawings, causing the 2nd floor to be bowed and defective. Now I will have to rip open the drywall, and remove the steel beam and install a new one. Basically redo all his work. Then install new drywall on the ceiling. e. Kitchen plumbing, was to be all new, replacing galvanized old pipes with new PVC. f. Kitchen faucets/sink and Appliances were not installed g. 5 add'l HVAC Ducts, registers and covers were not installed. h. Kitchen Stove Hood vent and associated Exhaust vent to the roof was not installed. Keuper has ignored my complaints, the quality issues, and my pleas that he rectify them. Kueper's response, up to now, has been to do nothing. He refused to return to fix the safety hazards, as well as to fix the Air Conditioning, leaving me with out air for 4 days in the July heat. KC didn't install the heater. Mr. Maldonado, the Director of the San Antonio City Mechanical Inspectors department asked him to correct the issues, he refused. Finally, the HVAC sub-contractor installed the gas heater so I could have heat this winter. He did this only after Mr. Maldonado insisted that he couldn't leave a customer without heat in the winter. The subcontractor asked me to pay him to install the heater, as Keuper did not pay him. My experience with Keuper has turned out very bad. I paid $37,000 to Keuper for the work he did. In return, Keuper has overcharged me; billed me for work not done; caused safety hazards in my home; refused to fix the hazards; told the city inspector he wouldn t fix them; installed items with city code violations; misrepresented his expertise; gouged me on pricing; refused to honor warranties; and the list goes on. Keuper will not accept responsibility for his actions, and those of his workers and sub-contractors. Do not hire this contractor.
Description of Work: We contracted Keuper Construction to remodel our kitchen, replace our HVAC system, install new first floor tile, paint and texture our first floor. This turned into a nightmare for us. Keuper left our home with hazardous conditions that jeopardized the safety of our family. The City of San Antonio reported numerous code violations. Keuper would not fix them. I have had to take my college funds that I was saving for my children to pay for all of Keuper's mistakes and defects. He has turned out to be the most unprofessional and irresponsible contractor I've worked with. My home has numerous defects, such that I will not be able to sell the home without additional major repairs and investment. Do not hire this company. We have tried everything to allow Mr. Keuper to rectify the problems, he has totally ignored us. We filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and nothing came of it. Here's some of the info on our complaint: Keuper Construction Better Business Bureau Complaint CASE#: 90111395. McBride Complaint.
