JAY'S LAWN & TREE SERVICE

Jay's does not possess much knowledge about trees and arboriculture. They do not seem to care about or value trees but just want to collect a payment. I am not impressed by their work or their pertaining knowledge about trees in Texas and how to care for them. In addition, they do not spray their cuts on live oaks to protect from oak wilt.

They did not put enough of a concrete base in to avoid it cracking of the wall in several places in the first week after the job was done. We had asked for a rock topping, but they gave us bark dust on part of the project and a fine layer of crushed rock 1/4" thick on the other. They said if their topping didn't work they would give us the river rock we had asked for, but what they were using was better. We were originally told that we had a one year guarantee on all of their work, but they failed to come out to make the repairs. They would not answer our calls so we turned them into the Better Business Bureau, but they were not members and they just blew the BBB off too. They will promise you anything, but fail to keep their promise

Jay's Lawn & Tree Service provided us with a great guarantee however they did not live up to that. They had told us that if the sod was not doing well that they would come back and replace it. I have tried to have them come back out as the sod is not healthy looking and they haven't fulfilled their end of the guarantee. I do think that they ordered too much and didn't have enough employees to do the job. I don't think that they knew what they were doing to begin with and it was very hard to communicate with them as they didn't speak English. I really don't remember the exact price that they charged me however I do know that it was way too much.
