IES Texas Solar

IES installed my system in March 2023, and informed Sunlight that the system was good to go, even though Centerpoint had not approved and it needed fixing. IES did not come out to fix the system until 4 months later, in July, but did not inform Sunlight about the system not being approved, and I kept getting charged by Sunlight in the meantime. IES promised to reimburse me 3 months of payments I made while system was not active, but later backtracked on their promise. Bryan Garcia and Brandon Rickett have given me the runaround for months and ignored my calls, texts, voicemails, and emails. The price is cheap, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and they will completely block you out once the system is installed and they get their money. Beware!

We can’t say enough good things about IES Texas Solar! We wanted to take advantage of the solar tax rebate program and spent time getting quotes from many solar companies which resulted in a lot of unclear information. However, Kristen stood out as an extremely patient Solar Consultant immediately and took the time to answer all of our questions about calculation, layout, installation, and explain every step of the quote and process to us. We never felt like we were being persuaded to buy more than we needed, in fact when we suggested adding more panels Kristen explained why it wasn’t beneficial for us based on the exchange rate with our local electric company. Kristen was really honest with us in setting expectations throughout the whole process. The crew who installed the panels were also very friendly and professional. Roy, their electrician, was super knowledgeable and was always available to answer my questions when he was here working. Dan, the manager, also played an important part in our overall customer experience. Aside from the great people at IES, one of the main reasons we chose them over other big names was that they have been around for decades and are Central Texas based, including their customer service team. Overall, we had a great experience with IES and we highly recommend them!

I rated them as a 4 but maybe it's more like 4.5. The sales rep was very knowledgeable about their products as well as my appliances and HVAC. Initially, I suggested 20 panels (~7 Kw system) and battery storage. The cost of that system would have been about $30K so I decided to "dumb it down" . My garage faces south so I chose 14 panels on the garage and no storage. So far, Oct-Nov, I'm averaging 20-25Kwh per day. This system is out-performing my expectations. So, why not 5 stars? They bumbled around a lot trying to get the Wi-fi to talk to the panels. I was expecting that part of the project to be the easiest.

I highly recommend IES. What I liked most was that they had good reviews, they did not pressure me, they had the best price by far, and they were punctual and professional with the installation. I worked with Dan on the proposals. He patiently explained everything and answered all of my questions. And, he was always available by phone, text, or email to answer questions. I took me a couple months to review other companies and ultimately decide, and he never pressured me at all during that time. The price from IES was far better than the 2 other companies I got proposals from. And even when I directly asked the other two if they could beat that price, they could not. Kate got all of the permits and inspections in order. I barely had to do anything but review some documents. Then Judy took over to set up the installation and final details. A team of 5-6 guys showed up at 8am sharp and were finished before noon. They were very courteous and professional. Two days later the city inspected the system, and the day after the electric company completed the final inspection. All tolled, from signing the proposal to installation and power on, was 2 and a half weeks! Impressive! I was a little nervous to pull the trigger on this decision, but IES made it it so easy.

Judy came to my house and with some help from "Envoy central" connected the solar box to my newly installed wifi that replaced the wifi I had at installation. A bonus was that once connected, the solar box uploaded all of the data from the last 2 weeks that it had been disconnected. Judy took the time to come to my house saving me the cost of a technician visit. Thank you very much! And again, another example of what a great experience it has been as a customer of IES.

Installation was professional, though not in the location the salesman had indicated. Arrived promptly and stayed until work was done, even though there were high winds that day. The big problem was with the IES interface with Oncor. I was told that they were familiar with Oncor's procedures and would make all arrangements with Oncor. This did not happen. I had to make a rushed call to Oncor to arrange for a disconnect/connect for construction since only the person on file can make requests. Major problem with getting permission from Oncor to operate the solar installation. IES never filed the correct paperwork with Oncor. After multiple calls, I finally found the correct department within Oncor and was emailed the Interconnection Agreement and Tariff Application which I signed electronically. The next day I received permission to operate.

originally contacted another solar provider to get solar panels installed on my roof. My plan was to use the 1st company for my project. I only contacted IES as a double check of my original decision. As it turned out, IES showed me a better plan for my house. So far, it was a very good decision. I waited to review IES until after I received my 1st CPS bill. My target savings was 80%. Every month will be different. But, my 1st month's savings was just under 83%. I couldn't be any happier with the entire process including after installation support and actually achieving my target energy savings. I absolutely love it when a plan turns out even better than expected!

Team was very professional. From signing contract to HOA approval to getting cobstruction permits to install to electric company turning on the system was less than 2 months after a 1 week delay I caused. Was told installation would take a full day, but the team completed it in just 4 hours and cleaned up well afterward. Other than the panels being on my roof, you would never know they has been here. Would definitely recommend.

A rep came out and then I never heard from them again. Messaged the Company Office got a phone call but no resolution. No actual quote or work was done. A mystery.

A huge disappointment. I wanted a custom, ground mounted, solar system with off-grid (battery) capability. IES quickly produced a design and helped me obtain a solar loan ($50K) at a very competitive rate. Up to this point (Sales) everything seemed fine. It was when the project moved from Sales to Delivery that it quickly became apparent they couldn't deliver and deliver on-time. Based on my experience and perspective, they simply didn't have the experience and/or expertise to design and install anything other than standard roof-top solar installation. I ultimately had to cancel the project. I wasted several weeks, secured a loan that I ultimately didn't need and missed the 2017 tax credits opportunity. I'll try a different company in 2018.

Great, Brandon and his team were very professional and prompt. After looking at other companies to do the work, Brandon's price and straight forward communication sealed the deal. He under promised and over delivered on the remove and replace of the panels, came on Saturday with his team and quickly took care of business, as soon as my roof was completed called him back and they came and put them up. They also recommended that I have the electric conduit go thru my attic which really made the look of my panels even better. I am very happy!!!

I wrote this review in several sections based on what people are looking for. Those looking to be “green”. Right now, I can’t think of a better way to invest in the future of our planet than solar. I was provided an “app” which showed me the equivalent of how many trees would have been planted, how many light bulbs (energy) I saved, and how much CO2 emission I have prevented from going into our environment. The app also showed each “panel’s” production to ensure all are functioning correctly. This provided me peace of mind that my system is working and I’m making a different for our planet. Those looking to saving/make money. Whatever your system cost, you should get your money back within ~10 years (or less). Then the system should provide you the same amount for another 10 years. You basically double your money after 20 years total. Of course, you will save/make more money provided that the system last over 20 years, which I’m optimistic mine will. In today’s unsteady market this was a viable investment for me. Those looking for excellent customer service. I was very pleased with the communication before/during/after. A review of my house was done prior to coming and I was provided a professional cost proposal clearly illustrating the cost and benefits. There was no “hard selling”—in fact it ended with think about it and let us know—this was excellent. All options were available for communication (I spoke with a live person on the phone, I texted, and I emailed) and I was always answered very promptly. The installation was done in a day, by professional people, and the amount of time my home was temporarily without power was minimal. Excellent customer service which I truly appreciated. Overall my experience was great and I encourage you to review to see if solar is right for you. If it is, this is the right company to do business with.

In January 2017 IES Texas Solar installed an 8.96kW array and inverter on my home. Their work was top notch, quick and very professionally done. They handled all of the CPS paperwork and rebates and I've been thrilled with my array since. I did extensive research and the solar equipment installed was top quality and very good performing. I LOVE the real time and historical monitoring included with the package. In July I elected to add 4 more panels to raise generation to 10.14kW. IES gladly took the job and did great work once again. Pricing was fair and work quality was VERY good. These guys really know solar arrays. After CPS rebate and tax credits my total cost for both jobs was ~$14,500.

Went very well. Very professional and efficient install and love the product. It was a little difficult to get in touch with the salesman at times but when we spoke it was always very well done.

Overall good. Liked that we got a monitoring program with Angieslist membership. Only minor issues: Rain delayed the install...was told they'd call and re-schedule, but they showed without a call the following day. Luckily, I was around. Other minor gripe is about the monitoring system...seems to drop offline often, even though it's attached directly to outlet and within 5 feet of the transmitter....needs to be rebooted often. Overall, would recommend. Install seemed easy and efficient, pricing seemed good, in relation to other offers.

The consult, pre-install paperwork and install went fine. They did have to skip the first install day due to rain, and said they call to reschedule...then showed up next day without a call. Luckily someone was around. I am still a bit confused, as the 4.1 KW system is producing just over 3KW on a bright and sunny summer day. The Inverter was supposed to take about .4 KW. I have called multiple times to have someone check the system...I did get a quick 2nd-hand phone tutorial on how to check all panels were working, and that checked good...but still not word on the apparent doubling of the inverter loss or in-efficiency of one or more panels. Overall, I am torn...good up-front stuff...pretty poor follow-up. Cost was about 12K up front, about 5K after rebates & credits.

Went great. Still waiting for the final CPS approval but turned it on for test for a while and it worked great. Best of all the companies I interviewed for the job and especially the most forthcoming and honest. Would recommend to anyone

It went extremely well. I highly recommend IES and would not hesitate to use them again. It has been a year since our system was installed. It has worked flawlessly and when I have had a question regarding the system, they have answered.

IES Solar gave us a fair price and did the removal and re-installation efficiently and promptly. The company coordinated with the roofers so that the panels were removed just before the roofers arrived and re-installed shortly after the new roof was in place. As a result, both operations were done smoothly and with a minimum of interruption to our own schedules. We are happy to add our heart-felt recommendation to those whose favorable reviews we saw on Angie's List when we were shopping for a new solar company.

Extremely well. They handled all paper work to get me federal and local rebate programs. Had a previous company install some panels but they did not accomplish what they sold me. IES did accomplish what they sold me and since installation about 2 years ago they have taken care of me and my panels -- had to have a new roof after hail damage - they removed and reinstalled the panels (had to replace some) and got my software up and running again. Most of all they were totally reliable and professional - came when they said they would and all personnel were very professional. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with IES. They are one of the few companies that come when they say and that have professional persons to render high quality work.

Note the cost was financed at a really low rate and IES even helped with rebates, which made it a true "no brainer" for us. We have a large home with pool, jacuzzi and fountain, and our average electric bill since solar was added has been $15-20, even in the peak of the summer! We are SOOOO thankful we chose this company with THIS solar product! And no, it doesn't HAVE to be put on a roof! We work from home full time, and now we can do so in COMFORT!
