The price was okay, it was something that I could afford and that’s what I go by. I liked the salesman. In fact the owner of the company, Mr. Hicks personally came and took the measurements and showed me the samples and stuff.

The quality and responsiveness stands out the most.

Hicks Carpet One Floor & Home They were very aggressive in selling his materials. Hicks wanted me to pay him for the install, when he was contracting out. So I didn't pay him that, I paid them myself. I wasn't happy with the installers, and Mr. Hicks kept calling them away form my house to go on other jobs. I had to do some of the work myself. But the floor does look good. He represents like the installers work for him. But they don't, they are sub-contractors. I will never use them again !

The company is independently operated by the Hicks family, and the elder family member performs the in-house estimates and handles the scheduling and related questions and issues. I purchased the carpeting at the store, but could not find the particular ceramic tile I wanted. They were easy to work with and they installed tiles I purchased elsewhere, as well as baseboard I found elsewhere. They picked up the materials and installed them after deconstruction. The work crews are highly specialized in that the tile installers only install tiles, carpet installers carpet and vinyl flooring only, and finishing crew only does finishing work. The flooring installers were middle-aged and very experienced and professional. They are actually subcontractors, but have worked for the company for many years. The company is very careful about who they have do the work, in large part because they rely on their reputation. Although they were not most expensive, they were also not the cheapest. However, the quality of workmanship and standing by their work is well worth it. The cheapest bidders stated additional costs may be involved if they run into any "problems" and did not leave me with a good feeling regarding their professionalism and reliability. Hicks stated the price would not change even if they run into any "problems." Although the work took longer than they anticipated, they took their time and did it right, and I paid the price they quoted up front. The quality of workmanship was impressive, and I am not impressed easily. They always answered the phone right away (I never got voicemail), and they called me after the work was done to ask me if everything was to my liking. Hicks states they will come back to fix any problems for free no matter how long it has been. I have not called to take them up on their guarantee as 2 1/2 years later, I have had no problems.

The estimate was for $6300. We had the floor at the back part of our house redone. This year we are having the floors in the kitchen redone. Mr. Hick himself came out and measured. He was kind of an aggressive salesman. He picked out what he wanted us to use and said that's what we wanted. I chose not to use them and went with the competition. They will be coming out in a few weeks and redoing our floors. I had been happy with Hicks Carpet One Floor & Home before. They do excellent work and stand behind their products, but I felt he was trying a hard sell this time. That bothered me and I didn?t like it. We were extremely happy with them earlier. In fact they have done good work and have been very helpful for us in the past. They had fixed something that had been done three or four years ago. That was good.

The work was good. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was they were going to install granite countertops for me but we ended up not having the countertops installed. I had prepaid and I never got that money back even though they said that they would refund it.

The price was good. The quality and workmanship on the job was excellent! They were on time. Everything was fine.

Larry and Carlton were friendly, courteous, and helpful. But we ended up going with another company that offered a significantly lower price.

I did not select them for my project. It was a comparable price but I had a better experience with the other company I chose to perform the work.

It was quite a bit of money. I was really unhappy with them. They had the equipment to do the work. There were certain times when they wouldn't show up at all, or they wouldn't show up for a couple of days. When your house is that torn up, you want the work done. We couldn't get into our bedroom for ages. We were terribly unhappy about that. The workers that were here had a boombox that they kept loud. We had a little cat that was very disturbed by that. They were terrible. There were a lot of things that I didn't like about them. We used them because they had done a beautiful job with our neighbor's floor. We didn't find that to be true when they did our work. We weren't satisfied.

Everything was great and it was a good experience. I called them once to come back on something I found and they were right here without a problem. I would definitely recommend them.

The owner came on a Saturday to show samples and give an all inclusive price. After a call back to the company to agree to the price a date was set to lay the floor covering. Hicks worked around my schedule for installing. Everyone from the owner, Larry Hicks, the folks in the office and the installation crew were great. The installers were very professional and did exactly what they said they would do, when the said they would do it. Could not ask for anything more.

It all went well. The installers were very professional and friendly, and did a great job. It took 3 days for the downstairs, and 3 for the upstairs. (The carpets didn't arrive at the same time, so there was a small time lag.) They treated my furniture carefully, and there was no damage. I should add that we have a LOT of furniture! It was a lot of money to get the carpet replaced, and we wanted to be sure that the end result was satisfactory. We are both very happy with the outcome, the carpet is beautiful. The stairs look especially nice, very even. I didn't realize how bad the old carpet looked until the new one was in. I would definitely do business with Hicks Carpet One again.

They were a pleasure to work with: from helping us choose the right carpet for us and giving us different estimates, to installing the carpet. They were always punctual and very professional. The installers did a great job also. But most important of all, they were able to get us the right carpet and install it within a very short period of time. We bought a new house and we needed to paint and change the carpet before the movers came in with the furniture, so they had to accommodate to work within a very tight time frame. They did a great job.

Where do I begin. I looked on Angie's List and saw that this company had high ratings and what appeared to be great customer service. My experience has been so different that I wonder if I have the right business. I told the company that I would not be available on a specific day, but was assured that I would not need to be there for the carpet to be installed as it was a straight forward install. I received call after call all day long about basic things such as how to lay the pattern of the carpet even though this was already on the diagram that the salesman had drawn up. Even how to finish off the doorways. I thought these people did this for a living. I was not able to answer every call (as there were many) throughout the day as I already explained I would be busy so they shut down the operation. When I got to the house all they wanted to know was how to cut the stair carpet and they were not even doing the stair carpet that day. One of the floors squeaked and I was assured it was no problem to fix before the carpet went down. Well the floor still squeaks because it was not done before the carpet went down and then I was told we can't take the furniture out now. When i reminded them that this was supposed to be done before the carpet went down and it was their oversight I was told "someone" would be in touch to set up a time to fix it. I am still waiting to hear from "someone". (Yes, I have made several calls myself) The carpet in the bedrooms was installed dirty and the owner told me it would clean up nicely. I don't think I should have to clean new carpet. I then had to listen to the owner and installer complain about other customers who were still not happy with their carpet and that is when I knew I was in trouble. The runner on the stairs was just stapled down rather then tacked down and looks horrible. I am having it ripped out and redone by another company. As if that is not bad enough I had secured the work by using a credit card and then would pay the other half with cash. The company not only charged my card the deposit, but then went ahead and charged for the rest of the carpet at what they considered the end of the job even though the stairs had not been done. There is no way I would recommend this company or ever use them again.

I had used Hicks before to put laminate in my den and had not had any problems. This time, though, they sent a freelance crew of father and son to do the work. They tore out the old vinyl and carpet one day, then the next day they just didn't show up. I had the father's cell number and called him. He said their truck broke down. I called Hicks and their manager called the crew and told them to get to my house ASAP. They did, but with a very bad attitude. Finally, Hicks sent four of their own employees to finish the job, which was done to my satisfaction. Still, I don't think I would use the company again because there's a lack of trust now.

I did not have them do the work. They were kind of high. The cost was too expensive compared to other bids that I received. They didn't seem to be real honest and I didn't trust them. When I told them I was going with somebody else, they came in with a much lower bid. They should have done that in the first place. I think they were trying to rip me off.

We used Hick's since about 1970 and never had a problem and they always did good work. This has been a disappointment this time. I would not recommend them at all to anyone. After i told them that i would never work with them again they came back and went above and beyond to right what was wrong. They came back in and replaced all of the carpet in our den and down the hallway. That eliminated all the problems we had with the previous carpet that they installed.

This company was really professional. The carpet color clashed really bad with the color of the walls in my house. I wasn't happy that it didn't match, so they tore it out. They gave me a different color and they only charged me for the cost of the extra installation. I thought that was wonderful. They advertise that if you don't like the carpet you picked out they'll replace it at no cost. They really stand behind that which I didn't expect. I felt like the cost of their carpeting was rather reasonable.

I went to the showroom to pick up the new flooring as the old ones had opened up and could not be repaired. I had limited myself with the price range for the flooring. They greeted me at the door. There was a young lady who showed me where to go and which ones were covered. They had excellent choices and I loved their collection.

I got a really cheap carpet that I saw and I had to remove things from a china cabinet, but the workers were very nice and they did nice work. They put in the carpet well but just some workers were rude.

The quality of their products were bar none. The price was a bit high, but you get what you pay for. They were pleasant.

They were very friendly and professional when they came out to measure our home for the carpet. It was ordered and came in a timely fashion. They were quick to schedule the installation and did a very nice job. I would buy carpet from them again.

The owners worked diligently to make sure the products were what we really liked. The installers were prompt and did a professional job. Everything they promised, they delivered on time. The price was reasonable compared with other reputable stores.
