Handyman Connection - San Antonio

Although we got an EMAIL CONFIRMATION of our appointment NO ONE SHOWED UP OR HAD THE COURTESY TO CALL THAT THEY WERE NOT COMING! NEVER HIE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT YOUR WORK DONE!

He did some carpentry and he got us a stronger rod to hold the clothes on. It was an average call or an average service.

He did a horrible job and I had to redo it myself. I will never use him again, I would not recommend him because he didn't know what he was doing.

I am in the process of selling my home and after reviewing options on Angie's List, I contacted Handyman Connection after hours and was pleasantly surprised to have someone answer my calls and schedule an appt. I received a reminder call and was told when I could expect the handyman to arrive at my home. I blocked out the time from the showing services to accommodate this appointment as I had a long list of things to accomplish and assuming we could agree on a price planned on doing as many as I could between 11 am and 5 pm today. I receive a call from the office stating that the technician assigned called in sick but they had another handyman who could come at 1 p.m. instead of 11 a.m. I agreed. I received a 2nd call a couple hours later informing me that that new handyman wouldn't be able to make it out until closer to 3 p.m. I calmly expressed my dissatisfaction at the unprofessional service and explained to her the reason I was needing this done today vs another day. She then stated that she couldn't even guarantee that the handyman being sent today would be able to do any of the things I needed since he was a replacement for the other handyman and since I was already dissatisfied that it would be better if I found another service. I waited several days to get this appointment in the first place and now I need to find another handyman to assist me. NOT IMPRESSED and I would never attempt to use them again. The only positive is that they at least contacted me to tell me the guy wouldn't be there.

I plan to continue using Handyman Connection for general household maintenance every 2 or 3 months. They surveyed the work needed, gave me a price, and the work was started at the exact time promised. The deck staining was the major portion of the cost since I live in a community that does not allow spray staining of decks, so it had to be done "by hand." (I indicated "B" on price because I think it was fair and reasonable. I reserve "A" for prices I think are unusually inexpensive)

If you can’t explain the problem very well, talking to them over the phone for an estimate doesn’t work. Then you have to pay them to come out to give you an estimate. I was surprised this was the way they did business.

The estimate was too pricey. I was not very happy on the way they gave the estimate and did not even talk about replacing the drywall from the water leak.

It went fine. He came when he said he would. I thought it was fair priced. Seemed like a nice person and I kept his business card.

His name was Juan and he did a really good job. It was excellent service. They do the Oak Wood area very well. His price is very reasonable.

We set up for an estimate appointment and were pleased that it was going to be on-time and sure enough it was on time. The remodeler looked at what needed to be done based on what we wanted, which was basically change out the fixtures, vanity, cabinets, toilet, lighting fixtures, and faucets. I was pleased to hear that for the faucets and commode, he said that he would schedule a licensed plumber. For the light fixtures and by the way a new vent, he would schedule a licensed electrician. It really didn't cost anymore, but I was told this was the right way to do it in the state of Texas. Oh and I had some tile work done too. The same guy that did most of the bathroom also went ahead and did our small deck outside the master bedroom. He power washed it and put down a really nice stain. I was happy but mostly confident because I knew if they get licensed guys in there I knew nothing could go wrong. I also get a 1 year warranty.

I am sure glad I paid by the job and not the hour, it was a week of small problems, both mine (prior appointments) and theirs.I marked the team of painters (Ray & Lucas) down on professionalism because they borrowed my hose, didn't bring the right kind of ladder, had to go and get gas for the equipment, and a part blew on the powerwasher.Scheduled for Monday but really did not start till Tuesday, due to the listed equipment issues. The guys did a great job of washing, they even caulked a problem area twice for me to keep wasp out. The painting was super and neat. Just wish they had scaffolding to save the plants in the front flower bed. I went with this company as they offered a great coupon.

I scheduled a job in the middle of the workday, which caused me to miss work. 10 minutes prior to the appointment time, the electrician calls to inform me he cannot do the services for which he was scheduled. This information would have been most helpful during or shortly after the appointment was made. I attempted to call the office in order to discuss this matter, but no one answered after 3 calls throughout the day.

They never contacted me so there was not work done.

They were prompt to arrive at the agreed upon time. They even called the afternoon prior to confirm. The guy that did the ceiling fan was different from the guy that did the other stuff. The ceiling fan guy was a licensed electrician. They got it all done pretty quickly.

As stated above, never got a call back from them.

They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and stuck to the original estimate as best they could. I admire a contractor whis honest, punctual and skilled at what they do. I won't hesitate to call them again when need a handyman.Work was completed to my satisfaction and we were very happy from start to finish. Work was completed in a timely manner and the quality of workmanship was very good. It is great to have someone honest and skilled!!!

I was going to have them back to powerwash and restain the deck in the spring. All-in-all a nice experience for a pretty good price.

The young woman who makes all the appointments for Handyman Connections, Mesa, was very helpful, courteous, and personable. I have no problem whatsoever with the initial contact of Handyman Connections. She made the appointment for the painter, Bo, to come to my home on Monday, January 23, 2012. Mesa kept me informed as to the time Bo was to be at my home. Bo arrived at my home at the appointed time. Walked through the job with my husband and I. He asked appropriate questions concerning the work to be done. As he was leaving, he told us a good friend of his had died unexpectedly. We gave him our condolences and told him to take his time getting back to us. As of Friday, January 27, 2012, we had not heard from him in either a telephone call or an email. I called Mesa and she was deeply apologetic for the lack of communication. She also informed me that Bo had been in touch and or working that week. Bo was the first to come to our home to give us a bid, January 23, 2012, and on February 4, 2012, we received an emailed estimate from him. By this time, we had received three other bids and clarafications and the work had already begun. We made a decision and obviously it was not in favor of Bo at Handyman Connections.

They came on time, when they said they were going to. They had to come the next day to finish the job and that was schedule as well. They brought all of the tools equipment necessary to complete the job. They did a great job and they did it on a timely basis.

Security light outside was dead. It's up in a tree, about 2 stories up. They tried replacing the bulb but the entire unit needed to be replaced.

They did a great job! When I called they answered the phone. I made an appointment and they came on time. They were don pretty quickly and did the work for a fair price.

There was a little bit of bickering between the father and son and they forgot their tools a couple times but other than the job turned out good.

We were very dissatisfied, especially with the price. There were a few unknowns. They did not break the estimate down into parts, it was lump sum.
