Left explicit instructions to put pallet in the middle of the driveway as the house was a vacant investment property. When they delivered the pallet, they did extensive damage to a new brick planter and a brick wall was knocked over as well that borders the property. They (Jennifer Husband sales manager) admitted liability, even stated that they damage property all the time and not to worry it would be fixed in 5 business days. 2 weeks later they stated a foreman was in the area, inspected the damage and would fix it the next day. When another 5 days went by without fixing the damage they stopped all contact with me. They have even left vulgar and profanity laced voicemails on my cell phone. This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with and should not be on any list let alone Angie's. Take a look at all the other online reviews and it seems to be a common theme, I only wished I had seen them as I would NOT have done business with these individuals.

I purchased 3 pallets of grass and told them I absolutely needed it Friday or Saturday, as I had people lined up to install it for the weekend. I placed the order on Sunday, called back on Tues to verify and they had no record of it (even though I received a confirmation email and number). Placed the order again, received shipping confirmation on Thurs saying it would be here Fri. Didn't receive it Fri so I called and the lady that answered the phone (Barbara) was not helpful at all, saying all she sees on her side is that it shipped, and will likely be here Sat. Then I never received it on Sat, so I called and spoke to Barbara 3 more times, and she said she can see the GPS of the truck and it was in my area, and it will likely delivery it soon. It never came on Sat, or Sun, then at 5:45am on Monday morning I get a call from the truck driver saying he's at my front door and wants to deliver it. I went out there and told him to turn around and take it back, bc I needed it over the weekend bc now I had no way of installing it since I had to go back to work. He was confused as to why the company dispatched him, saying he didn't pick it up until Sunday in Houston (I live in Dallas). I went round and round with Barbara about all this, told her a number of times I do not want it unless it can be here on time, and I caught her in several lies in our conversation, and she has still yet to refund my money. She will not let me speak to anyone other than her, even though she is just an operator. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company, and will never,ever use them again.

First I re-scheduled an order because of weather. The delivery showed up anyways despite 5 days notice on my part. After that I was weary of their organization. So the week of my new delivery date I called several times to make sure everything was on track. I was assured everything was fine the day before and the day of delivery. I had a crew waiting all day until I was told at 4:30pm that the grass was set to be delivered the following Tuesday. Besides the fact I had to pay a crew for nothing, I work Tuesdays! I asked that they cover the install. After several follow up calls they determined that they would not meet with me half way and they cancelled my order without asking. So I was left with a dirt lawn prepped and ready to go that needed grass before the next rain. The Zoysia I wanted was sold out in Georgia so I ended up installing something less ideal after spending thousands including money lost on pointless labor!!! Anyone want to start a class action?

Do not use this company! The only positive is that they grass delivered was very high quality. But the rest of the ordeal takes away from any positive of the actual grass. The lies, broken commitments and poor workmanship make this the WORST company I have ever hired to do any work. 1) The delivery was delayed 4 times. 2) The installation was delayed 3 times. 3) The "professional installation team" had never laid grass before that day. 4) I completed the job because they would not return to complete it as promised. 5) They offered no refund on installation and only threaten lawyers. They apparently focus on hiring lawyers instead of customer service reps and installation professionals. Hire at your own risk. Check elsewhere for reviews and you will see common threads.
Description of Work: Finally delivered a pallet of grass after multiple delays. Installers had never laid grass and had to be coached to complete properly...and did not complete the job.

I had previously completed several sod orders with Grass4Sale for my back yard (23 total pallets) and for the most part the orders were satisfactory with minor issues. The initial orders were delivered in a somewhat timely manner, mostly late in the evening of the date they were scheduled, and the grass was in fair to good condition. What I should explain here is that Grass4Sale is cheaper than most, so my expectations were not that high, and I believe I received essentially what I paid for. Having completed the back yard I ordered 10 more pallets of sod for my front yard. As stipulated with the company, to receive an order on a specific date you must pay a $75 service charge, which I did. I had this order coming in on a Friday since I had people coming over to install on Saturday. On the scheduled delivery date I contacted Grass4Sale to see where the order was and they informed me it was on a truck for delivery. It actually showed late the following day with explanation that the delivery truck had mechanical issues. Since the grass had been sitting out for a long time much of it was too dry/dead to be used. While laying the sod I was surprised to find that it did not cover the area needed and I ordered 3 more pallets. After the fact I went back and counted the sod in the first order and found it was shorted by about 300 sf. The second order was also scheduled for specific delivery date and was not delivered until late night (after I was in bed) two days later. This order was reviewed and also found to be short by about 150 sf and had a significant amount of unusable grass. So, in a nutshell, two very late orders in a row with both being short of the square footage ordered. I have attempted to work thru this with the company and have come to know their true colors. The truth is that once you order from this company and they take your money, they could virtually care less about you afterwards. I found the company at this point to be harsh and seemingly frustrated that I would not just let things alone. Bottom line is you are 'shooting dice' with this company. Their prices are okay and their products are fair, but if anything goes wrong they will summarily tell you to go away. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY...I have certainly learned my lesson the hard way.

We will not use Grass3Sale.com again. They delivered brown grass and said the grass was in shock because of the heat. Yes it was August in Dallas but if it was harvested the night before there would have been some green in the grass. When I called that Friday I was told Jennifer was the only one who could assist me and she would call me on the following Monday. I still have not heard from them two weeks later. I posted pictures on their Facebook page of the install and brown grass but they were removed within 24 hours. Buyer beware. They are a broker only with no vested interest in you returning as a customer.

Description of Work: I chatted with James. I printed out chat for verification. He quoted me $75 for delivering 4 yds of topsoil. I though was a great price, I confirmed again, dirt and delivery, yes. So I ordered it. I asked if I will be getting a receipt by email. Yes. When I got it the amount was $233 with $148 of that in delivery charges. I immediately called them and cancelled the order. Another guy picked up the phone, not professional and couldn't look up my order. James got on line and was rather rude. I did get my order cancelled. I will not be doing business with them in the future. They are in NY. I will do business with someone local.

The delivery was great, the driver made every effort to place the pallets where I needed them in my driveway. I purchased another pallet a few weeks later but picked it up myself, no issues with that either.

Overall it was an awful experience. The order was placed online and was confirmed by email almost immediately. Communication was non-existant after that. I believe that most of the failure was due to the local landscaper that Grass4Sale used as a subcontractor to fulfill this order and I am also leaving negative feedback on that contractor. However, Grass4Sale took the order, failed to follow up on its sale and ultimately failed to honor its extended guarantee. No one showed up on the scheduled delivery day and we ended up sitting home all day waiting. We called several times and left messages with the installer, none of which were acknowledged. The next day the delivery truck and installation crew just showed up with no notice. A thin Raleigh St. Augustine lawn in a shaded area was being replaced AmeriShade, a shade tolerant variety of St. Augustine. The installation crew removed the existing grass with a weed-wacker which left runners and associated root system which later rotted. No other cultivation of the soil was done, and AmeriShade did refund the extra amount paid for cultivation. However, I remain convinced that the underlying soil would have benefitted from cultivation which is why I purchased it in the first place. No rolling was done although the description of the service on the website was very specific that this would be done and described the reasons for doing it. The end result was that there are lumps all over and there are uneven gaps between sod pieces. When I questioned the crew chief about this he said rolling wasn?t possible because the sod needed to be soaked for an hour prior to rolling. He did agree to come back later after I had soaked the sod, but after multiple soakings and multiple failures to show up, I ended up renting a roller and doing it myself about a week later. The pallet was short about 50 square feet of sod. The crew chief said he would have to go to Home Deport to buy some more. I pointed out that this was supposed to be AmeriShade and was not available at the local big box stores. It is the reason I ordered from Grass4Sale in the first place. He said he would have to go to the sod farm then to get it. I have no idea if he did, but it caused me to suspect that what I was receiving was not AmeriShade. Long story short, the grass died. Later my neighbor installed AmeriShade from another source, and on inspection I noticed his AmeriShade had a completely different texture than the grass I bought. I took a square of his grass and planted it in my yard, and suprisingly, it is thriving. This confirms my suspicion that I didn't get what I paid for. I then emailed Grass4Sale to honor their extended guarantee (which I paid extra for) and this email was again ignored. I am now faced with replacing the grass in this area again. But I've learned my lesson--don't buy grass over the internet.

I asked the telephone salesperson "Michael" how much sand was in the mixture? He said he didn't know. I told him I did not want a sandy loam mixture.Michael said he didn't know what sandy loam was but no one has complained in the 5 years he has worked there. Truck arrives and contained what the driver called a "Contractor's Mixture". The dirt was LIGHT BROWN in color and NOT BLACK as shown on the GRASS 4 SALE website. It would not form a firm ball when squeezed in the palm of your hand and had to have been well over 50% sand mixture. There was no BLACK SOIL (only brown) in mixture. I did not accept the dirt. I called GRASS 4 SALE and again talked to Michael. I told him that the dirt was not black topsoil as shown in the website photograph. Michael said I should not rely on the picture, because it would look different every time a photograph is taken. I told Michael I wanted to cancel my order. Michael said HE COULD NOT HELP ME but I would have to write an e-mail to the sales department. Michael said I ONLY had a 48 hour time limit to cancel the order from the time I ordered it. I ordered the dirt on Monday and the delivery date was the following Thursday. I told him the dirt delivered was not what was advertized. He again told me to e-mail sales and then MICHAEL HUNG UP ON ME when I asked him if I had a 48 hour grace period from the time they attempted to deliver the dirt.

Company called asking to move delivery date up which was not possible due to my work schedule. I was given a three hour window for delivery of grass and was told the installation crew would arrive once the grass was delivered but during the three hour window. When they did not arrive during time give, I made three phone calls to company. First person said he guessed they were running late, left message for salesperson I had spoken with previously who never returned my call, third person was female who said she would check to see where the delivery was. Two hours after the end of the window time, I received a call telling me that they were not going to come today - no reason, no further information was given. After attempting to make another appointment, I was told the time from would be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no guarantee. The person calling then told me that the original salesperson was the only person who had any answers. I asked to speak with the supervisor of the sales person and was told that he did not know who that was. Because of the difficulties and lack of professionalism with this company, I cancelled the order. After checking the Better Business Bureau, I discovered that the "sales person" is listed as the CEO of this company.

Ordered 8 pallets of zeon zoysia for delivery between 7-10AM on a Saturday. Nothing at 10:30. Called grass4sale asking for a status and he said they were having problems "getting the sod on the truck" and it would be 1- 1.5 hour delay. I asked why they didn't inform me and he said the guys at the sod farm didn't do that. He obviously knew, so they could have told me. Sod showed up @ 12:30 (which turned a 1-day project into 2 days). Delivery guy was great. However, sod was not. Had to toss almost a whole pallet total from the 8 because of weeds and poor cuts (many pieces simply fell apart just trying to pick them up), good thing I ordered extra or I would have been screwed. Very poor overall experience and would not recommend this company.Or

This is a place where you buy the grass on the internet and they arrange delivery and installation. You sepcify an installation date and they are supposed to verify. I buy the grass on Thursday and set Monday as the installation date. About noon on Monday, I have not heard from them so I decide to call. They say the rain fall over the weekend was so uch that they cannot harvest the grass. They would give me 24 hours notice before they came, but they were guessing it would be Friday. On Tuesday afternoon about 2, some men show up to prepare my yard for grass. I was surprised since I was told I would receive 24 hours notice and I had not received notice. He said they were prepping the yard and they would drop 2 pallets of grass in my driveway and come back in the morning to install. I was not thrilled with this idea, so I called in to the office in NY and spoke to a very nice man. He called the guys and they guranteed they would install it that night. At 8 PM, I get a knock on my door, that my grass was delivered to the wrong address and that they would return first thing in the morning. I tried to convince them to wait until friday when I could be there, so I could lock my dogs up. He said they could not wait and it would be in the morning. So before I left for work, I locked my dogs up and left the gate unlocked. I get home from work in the afternoon, and there is no grass. So, I called and talked to the guy in NY. He apologized and said they would return on Friday morning to install. This must be a fairly new business and they have not worked the kinks out of. Other than the mix up on delivery, they tilled part of my yard where grass was not to be installed. They covered 2 of my sprinkler heads and installed grass where I could not open the gate to the dog run

I ordered some sod to be delivered on 10/29/2011. It never showed up. I left messages and sent e-mails trying to find out what happened. I eventually got hold of somebody on the fold, and he was going to look into the situation and call me back. I never heard from him. I also got an e-mail response that said my order wasn't delivered because I was out of their delivery area. I never received a call or an e-mail letting me know my sod would not be delivered. I was told in the e-mail they would try to work it out and would let me know a new delivery date. I waited a few days then sent an e-mail asking where we were as far as getting the sod delivered. To date, I have not received a response.

Easy to order via the web and got responses quickly to initial order. Deliver date was only estimated, but I was never given an exact date/time. Delivery came and luckily I was near the house, so could come home to meet them. Installation was expensive because I had to have some dead sod removed. They really only raked the dead sod (instead of removing it completely) and laid the new sod on top of it, so we have some uneven areas. Told them if they had any leftover sod they could put it in another area, but they really should have used it on the areas of the grass that were not doing well. I wasn't home to supervise, so couldn't catch it when they did it.

They were very easy to work with. Although they are a national company, they know the different grass that is appropriate for different areas of the country. They have local grass suppliers and installers. You can order online or on the phone. The delivery and installation was available within 2 days of request. They did a good job and I felt it was a very reasonable price.
