We have Trane A/Cs with heating elements. Tim answered the phone on Sunday morning. He seemed very familiar with A/Cs and heat pumps in general. We scheduled a service time for Monday, then he suggested a few things I could check myself including the outside breaker box. When I said that if a breaker trips, there is a reason that should be investigated, Tim disagreed strongly. When I started discussing delayed action circuit breakers, etc., Tim cancelled the appointment and hung up. If you hire Tim, let him be the expert. He is a practical guy and doesn't want to explain things in any depth. On the other hand, getting the actual mechanic on the phone on a Sunday morning can be a big plus.
Description of Work: Scheduled then cancelled appointment.

Tim has always done his best to get to me when I need him as soon as possible. I have never had a bad experience and would recommend him to anyone. In this last case, the capacitor went out and he had it replaced and the unit up and running in less than an hour and his rates are very reasonable. I love that he is willing to work with you to extend the life of an older unit rather than immediately recommending a replacement. When you factor the cost of a new A/C and divide that by the years it will actually last, repairing and maintaining a slightly older one can make a lot of sense, and I know I have spent far less on repairs than the depreciation would have been on a new one. Tim is very honest and will definitely give it to you straight, with your best interests in mind, not his.
Description of Work: Tim has been maintaining my now 8-year old A/C system for four years. He has replaced the logic board and breakers back when it was under warranty and since then the capacitor and evaporator coils, as well as charge it with refrigerant a few times.
