Got Pool

Gary is a nice guy and means well but I think he either has too many customers or not enough help. I'll spare you the long version. Short version -- good service when nothing goes wrong. If something goes wrong, tough to get ahold of anyone and tougher to schedule something. Oh, and I know I said short version but does anyone else have a filter that requires them to purge water filled with what looks like white shale down their driveway once a month? Does make my house easier to find for the deliver guys. Anyway after suffering through two cleaning cycles (weekly service) I had to let Gary go today. My sort of last straw was finding my entire pool area sprayed with what looked like white paint -- the shale I'm guessing. And the pool stagnating because there was no pressure -- even though the pumps seemed fine. Called him Saturday. Said he'd be here Monday. Impressive right. Would have been had he been here. Finally today a new guy showed up -- with a cell phone -- which he proceeded to use to talk to someone who was clearly telling him what to do. Either he didn't ask the right questions or the guy on the other end didn't know much more than he did. I just shut down the pumps to keep them from burning up. Sent a note to Gary. He worked really hard today and he'll be here when he gets here. Actually the actual quote was "I sent my guy to try his hardest your pool will be cleaned up when I get the chance." Wow -- been a customer for at least two years ... Needless to say he will never have the chance. So, all in -- maybe this is normal for pool service. If it is, Gary is a really nice guy and you should use him. If it isn't...

My pool was a mess. I'm on well water and the scale build up was unbelievable. Initially we thought we could drain it and have the scale blasted off. This worked on the tile, rock and part of the plaster but it turned out the scale was too tough. This is when Gary Mays was called to the rescue. He had a crew, Steve's Plaster, come in to do the plaster work. They did an incredible job, very knowledgeable and even set some mosaic tiles I had purchased in the new plaster for me. After Steve's had completed their part of the work, they left everything clean and orderly. I then had the pool filled with part water that i had trucked in and part water from my well. My well water is the problem and no one before has been able to tame it! Gary was able to bring the water to crystal clear condition and he didn't stop working until it was just that~perfect. He even called on Father's Day to check that everything was ok! Gary went above and beyond. I highly recommend Gary for any of your pool challenges whether it be plaster, equipment or weekly pool maintenance.
