G.L. Hunt Foundation Repair

The scheduling and actual work went perfect - no complaints. My complaint is followup work. 1) we called approx 1 year after work performed to confirm no additional movement. Attempted to schedule multiple times before actually having someone come out. Pretty frustrating as had 0 problems with the initial repair. 2) Once they finally came out and confirmed repair was still good we ID'd some brink/mortar work needing repair. Not only did I experience the same problems mentioned in #1 - but they failed to show when an appointment was finally made. Too much hassle to call again - I'll hire a mason to fix the brink/mortar. Hopefully I will not need to hold GL Hunt to their "Life Time" warranty in the future.

They explained what needed to be done and gave multiple options. They came and had it all completed over the span of 2 days. Still you would hope they themselves would send the certificate without me having to prompt them

They were very professional, clean, prompt. The cleaned up nicely after all the digs. They honored their original estimate even after a time span between the original estimate and when we had them come out. Everything they state in their contract is exactly what they did. We had used MitchCo foundation previously and they did not honor their warranty or contract, therefore we had to have this job redone by G L Hunt.

Our engineer found several areas in the floor that did indeed need additional support. All in all, 3 more beams and some re-shimming were needed. GL Hunt's warranty only covers beams they install, so at first they quoted us $2,100 in additional work. I was upset because the year-old foundation work had already cost so much. However, after talking with management, they agreed to install the additional beams at no cost because they value customer satisfaction. After this situation, I would recommend them because management was extremely polite and contacted me several times to allay my concerns. While technically they didn't have to do the extra work for free, they were willing to sacrifice profit for customer value. I really appreciated their efforts.

The repairmen showed up on time and started work promptly. The price quoted was not changed although it took a bit more time and work by repairmen. I have not had any problems with foundation.

Went above and beyond anything I could imagine, service was great.

The technician, Coy Smithhart, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. After he completed his inspection he explained that I had no foundation issues. I was impressed with the technician's honesty which is a reflection of the company's integrity. I have already shared my experience with friends and will certainly recommend G.L. Hunt Co. to anyone who has, or may suspect, foundation issues.

On time, professional, had enough manpower to complete the job in a timely manner. Foreman was courteous, respectful and present for the duration of the project. Also a Quality inspector from GL Hunt stopped by and asked me if I had any concerns. Crew showed up at 8:00am and put in full days to complete the job. They cared for the yard by placing plywood down to put the soil that was dug out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY FOUNDATION WORK. Ask for Brandon (Salesman), Alex (Foreman) and Mike (Supervisor).

My house was shifting, so they fixed the problem. There was a problem six to nine months later, they came back and redid it. The first time was great when they did it. Then the second time they came out, after he left, I started having plumbing problems. The second time didn't turn out so well. The guy who came out the first time was nice and efficient. I think they were a good price. They were always on time and were professional. I have a lifetime warranty.

I had prerviously written to you giving this company a bad grade because they never returned our calls after coming out and giving us an estimate (which we accepted) .for work to stop our garage from flooding when heavy rain occurred... About a week after my review Vincente Neavez contacted my husband with an apology. He stated our paperwork had been misfiled and asked if we would consider letting him come to our home and give us another estimate if the company did it for half the original price. We accepted and he came out and did a thorough inspection and explained all the work to be done. It was to take one day. The men arrived on April 27 and were unable to complete the job because they discovered additional work that had to be done. My husband agreed and the men returned the following day. After completion Vincente and another boss came out to inspect the work and said it was unsatisfactory and they would have to redo it the following day. The next day the job was completely redone, thoroughly cleaned up. They even did some shoring up of our neighbors tool shed and storage box. --we have a zero lot line situation on that side of the house.. The work was beautiful and they did another inspection before asking us to approve the job. It finally rained hard yesterday and, praise God, our garage remained dry ! The drains operated perfectly. With great pleasure I rescind the previously review and highly recommend this company

They did a great job and the pricing was fair.

They talked me into doing the whole foundation instead of where the cracks were in the back area. Afterwards, I started getting cracks all over inside the home. In about 5 different places, there are cracks running from the bottom of the windows to the floor. Some doors won’t even close now. They were supposed to come back to fill in a hole they made but they never came back.

We chose Hunt because they had a good reputation and their bid was the best we received. They arrived on time to start the work. It took 2 days longer than estimated because they had to go deeper to reach solid rock. We had paid half in advance when we signed the contract. However the first morning the foreman told me he thought their estimator had made a mistake and that we needed more piers. this would have cost an additional $1000. I talked to the estimator and he assured me that his plan would work. I feel they should have worked this out between them, and if additional work was needed because of a miscalculation on their part, just included it with the original price. Now, I'm left with a little doubt if their work is really sufficient. As far as I can tell, the work they did was good and the house seems to be settling as it should. The crew worked hard and were very courteous. During the work they did break some sprinkler lines. They sent a plumber out the next day to fix one break and to do a required sewage line test. The plumber wouldn't do the rest of the sprinkler work. Finally an inspector came out a couple of weeks later and he told me to hire a sprinkler guy and send them the bill, which I did. He also saw a couple of areas he was not satisfied with and said he'd send someone back out. I haven't seen or heard from anyone on these issues to date.

Scheduling was easy. He spent about twenty-five minutes looking around for the inspection. He assured me that that there was no work that needed to be done. He explained that for the time he spent, he doesn’t charge. He took pictures of a few areas that I was concerned about. He explained he was going to look them over with his colleagues and get back to me later if he decided there was any problem. They man who came out was very nice and professional.

The inspector, Daniel, was right on time, even a minute or two early. He was polite, very knowledgeable and extremely professional. He did a visual inspection, and took measurements of the patio to determine if it was level. After examining the exterior of the patio and noticing faint cracks in the surrounding sidewalk, he deduced that piers had been inserted below the slab at some previous time--which was absolutely true! I had forgotten that foundation repairs had been done about 12 years previously, and was not aware of the exact details as to what had been done. Daniel determined that the widening of the floor crack was due to slight shifting of the patio foundation caused by the extreme drought, and that no actual repairs needed to be accomplished. I sincerely appreciate his honesty and integrity, as I had been expecting thousands of dollars of repair work. No foundation repairs were necessary at this time, but if any problems ever arise, I would not hesitate a second to hire this company, G. L.. Hunt.

They were wonderful and they were on time. I just choose to not go through with the job at this time. The scheduling was very good. They sent one person out for the estimate and it was a good experience.

There were here when they said. They were reliable, and the work was done well. They finished it on time. They cleaned up after themselves and did quality work. They made sure we were happy with the work and answered all of our questions. They also came back to re-fill holes with dirt after they settled.

I was disappointed because they were inconsistent with the quotes and the price was excessive. However, they were professional in how they handled things.

Daniel came by and gave a very honest assessment of what needed to be done which was very reasonable; signed off on contract at that time. Office called to confirm date and work started approx 2 weeks later. David the foreman contacted me and gave me a detail of the work to be done. They were very professional and I was impressed with the whole operation. After work was completed, the areas they worked on, outside, even looked better than before work was done! I highly recommend them for your foundation needs. You can definitely put your complete trust in this company!

They completed the job in a very timely manner and they did a great job. They placed 16 piers under my foundation and got my house leveled. I am very happy with the job they did, it was great. The only problem was some bent fence parts.

Daniel came out & did an interior/exterior inspection of my older home built in 1950. We just purchased it last month & the inspection report mentioned the foundation was holding but it should be monitored for any movement. We have several small cracks in the house and I wanted to see if these were structural or cosmetic only. The previous owners had installed soaker hoses along the perimeter of the house and I was curious if this was a good idea or not. He came by and measured from one end of the house to the other, using a tool he pushed along the floor. I was pleasantly surprised when he said the floors were fairly level throughout except the kitchen corner which I figured anyway. He said he found no evidence of doors sticking or other common symptoms of foundation issues. He also mentioned not to water the foundation in the back, since the only place the hose can go is right up against the foundation due to the sidewalk along that side of the house. You want the hose around 12-18 inches away from the foundation if you soak it; if it's too close it will do more harm than good. He left me his card and said to call him if I notice any noticeable shifting or other issues. Didn't charge me a cent..This is a very trustworthy company and I would not hesitate to call them again if we experience any foundation problems in the future.

Daniel arrived in very punctual fashion and after inspecting what looked scary to me, pronounced it to be of purely cosmetic concern and not requiring action. We had a large corner crack that turned into a chunk of our foundation coming off. They came out to check it out. He assured me it was just cosmetic and gave me some solutions from it happening again. Nice, honest guy who showed up when he said he would.

I called 7/15/2014 and was able to get a next day appointment. Mr. Daniel Roden called prior to the appointment to confirm the time, and arrived a few minutes early which was not at all a problem. Mr. Roden was courteous and willing to answer all my questions. He seemed very knowledgeable and honest. I received a copy of the measurements for future comparison and no attempt was made to sell me services I did not need. Very pleased with the experience.
