G.L. Hunt Foundation Repair

It went well. Although the foundation of my home has settled it was within a reasonable range and there was no need for any repairs to be done. The representative that came out to my home made some simple suggestions to minimize any future damage. Overall, I am very pleased.

I had a solid experience with this company. I called them unsure if my foundation had any issues and if they could recommend any drainage solutions due to water pooling by the house due to holes in the dirt. Josh Kovatch came out to the house for a free inspection. He was very professional and diligent. Instead of trying to sell me something that I don't need, he was honest and told me that I had no foundation or drainage issues. He recommended that I simply fill up the holes. I appreciate his time and professionalism.

Dustin was very curious and knowledgeable. He worked diligently to give me a repair plan that fit my budget.

The reviews were positive; one review talked about what a good job they did with the landscaping. When I talked with the representative, he said they would dig up the plants with a ball of dirt to keep the roots moist and then replant after they were finished. The workers showed up on time and started to work. I looked out a little later and saw a mound of dirt with the plants laying on top; they had not kept a dirt ball around any of the plants. We also a rock perimeter around the landscaping that was destroyed as they dug up the landscape around the front of the house. They did offer to replace the plants, but I was upset about the way the landscaping was replaced and told them not to bother.

Bad weather required a few schedule changes and the company was on top of that with clear and prompt communication. It was a pleasure listening to the crew singing and enjoying each others' company as they worked. Work was done efficiently, again with excellent communication throughout the day. Cleanup was spotless. The guys even threw in a couple of little extra yard clean ups at no cost. The fee was reasonable and saved thousands off someone else's estimate for work that wasn't required. Honest, efficient, professional, and easy to work with. Wow! I couldn't be happier.

Josh was very informative, professional and fair. He explained everything and gave me what options were available. The work done was great! It is a great relief to have the foundation repaired. They left everything clean and put back together.

It was great. He was very professional, respectful of my home and kids. I did not feel pressured in any way. He made me feel like he was personally wanting to make sure I understood his findings and ready to assist when I was ready to move forward. Made me comfortable enough to ask other questions and concerns when we discussed other options alternatives.

The crew actually came out the day before we were supposed to begin due to the forecast of possible showers. On the actual date, the office sent out a double crew due to the same reason. I was able to see these men in action and how they worked as a team. They were very polite and never stopped except for a lunch break. My husband and I provided them with cold water bottles throughout the day. This is physical job and we never heard the gentlemen complain. The job foreman walked us through the process as they were working and answered our questions. After the foundation was complete, they caulked all of the windows and also repaired the rock located on the front of our home with mortar. Several cracks appeared with the lift of the house and all was repaired. This was a little nervous for me, because this was a large amount of money and of course we wanted to make sure it got done correctly. What we can say about G. L. Hunt is that they were very professional from the moment Joshua came to present the work package to us, till the moment we signed that we were pleased with the work and paid the second amount due to Pedro, the foreman. We have already recommended G. L. Hunt to three of our friends and have those referrals ready for Joshua. Thank-you G.L. Hunt. You all are totally AWESOME!!!!

G.L. Hunt gained my trust and answered all of my questions. This was a big decision for our house hold and I couldn't of gone with a better company.

When I started this process of finding the foundation company that I would use, I thought it was going to be more difficult than it actually was. I had MANY other companies out to the house and I could have saved myself so much time if I had GL Hunt out there first! For starters they have been in business for over 30 YEARS which says a lot. There was no comparing Dustin Ruhd to any of the other guys that went out there. He was so genuine and honest about what we actually needed done. I never felt pressured like I felt with other companies that had come out before. He spent as much time as I needed for questions to be answered clearly. They offered financing also, which was such a relief because we didn't want to pay $7k all at once (which was still more reasonable than other bids I had gotten). We also received a lifetime warranty that's transferable as well so when we decide to put our home on the market, the next owners won't have any issues! Please do yourself a favor and call GL Hunt first and ask for Dustin. You won't be disappointed! (And on a side note.. He's not too bad to look at ;)

After inspection, the guys at GL Hunt installed 12 piers into my foundation. The crew were friendly and showed up on time. Most importantly, they stayed out of my hair and got the job done quickly. Due to the climate near San Antonio and Texas generally, almost everyone including me has some type of foundation problem. I really felt the guys at GL Hunt put me at ease and the job was done really professionally. Everything was explained so even I could understand it as I am not a construction/home repiar expert. I am VERY satisfied and would use again (although I hope I don't have more issues).

The work was lousy. They messed up the floor and they stated that it will cost $1000.00 to repair the issues by the front door and nothing else. I am still having issues with them and they have been here 6-7 times since I hired them. They checked some of the doors and windows but not all of the them. They stated that it was a floating foundation. Within the first few months are started having issues and I am still having issues. One day they came over and forgot their jacks and had to go back to the office. I would not hire this company again.

Dustin came out to evaluate the project. He listened to me explain the problems, he used an instrument to measure the level of the house in different areas. I had explained the moisture problem, but he first quoted the cost to level the entire house which was not what I wanted. We finally came to the conclusion that we needed to dig down under the house to create a better crawl space. All of this without looking under the house. He then called a crew and had them put two fans under the house through a small access door from the outside of the house to start the drying out process. They were going to begin after the weekend and this was Thursday. The next day I called and said that I wanted to postpone the excavation until after the torrential rains that we were experiencing in San Antonio. I was worried that digging a hole under the house would not be wise during the huge storms. Dustin said, "I'll send someone to pick up the fans today." Since I was not currently able to live in the house I left for the day. That night we had a 4-5 inch rain. When I stopped by the next morning I heard sloshing sounds and when I went outside the fans were still under the house, running, but in 4-5 inches of water. (pictures attached) No one had come to pick up the fans and close the access door. When I called Dustin, he said, "Probably no more water than usual." I explained that I did not have water under the house before. (see picture) Two days past and finally someone came with a tiny pump and pumped out the water, however the floors had already started to ripple in the house and the moisture under the house was horrible. I called Dustin again. He said we had no contract so it is not their problem. I asked to have fans so that I could dry out the space, and his response was, "the fans don't really help" Then why were they under there in the first place!!! That was insulting. They have damaged my most important asset, my home, without a single bit of concern. Another phone call and he said his manager would call. No one called. I tried their Dallas office they referred me to San Antonio. Again no one called back. Do not trust them. They do not value your home and they do take responsibility for their actions.

It went well. They started on Friday and finished on Monday. Mike was the foreman. they explained all they were doing. they did a very professional job and I was very pleased with everything . I was given a lifetime warranty. They also removed a tree for me and cleaned up very well. They did more than what I had bargained for

Such excellent service! Felt very confident in the information provided. Even though we did not need repairs at this time, the representative told us what to monitor. We will call them again in the next 2-3 years for a re-assessment. Definitely recommend.
