My third time hiring Gimme A Break awesome cleaning company this year. If somebody deserves the best cleaning service in town award, this is it- this company is genuinely concerned and trustworthy about cleaning help you need in the house. Boy oh boy, i was smiling cheek to cheek inspecting every room in the house if they had passed to my standards again! And they sure as heck did excel again🙌🏽🙌🏽 They not only cleaned everything as per my specifications but by all means did not even flinch once when I was nitpicking about a tiny stain on the floor that needed cleaning. They were working tirelessly and diligently. The ceiling fans were cleaned and so was the microwave and toasters!! They wiped down the cabinets in kitchen and all appliances! They even made sure they cleaned every piece of furniture I needed dusted and wiped down. Omg I'm still astounded by their quality work. I have hired so many cleaning services prior to this company and now I know they have earned my trust for a long long time. Believe me when I say this, I checked every nook and cranny; they passed to impeccable standards of cleaning. Love this family-owned company. Nicole is stupendously professional; very patient with me and made sure the cleaning ladies sent to my house were the best of the best. Now, time for me to relax in my clean home; thanks to Gimme-a-break cleaning services.

Gimme a Break has been cleaning my home since August of 2010. They do an amazing job and have never disappointed. I recently called them to see if they could help me out by cleaning a rental home at the last minute. They always try to accommodate and worked it into an already busy schedule. The rental home looked new when finished. They are simply the best!

We have had Gimme a Break cleaning our home for several years. Our team is always professional, responsive and quick. They come as a team of 2 or three and are in and out within a couple of hours. I have recommended them to several neighbors who are very pleased as well! We love Thursdays!

I have been a customer of Gimme a Break since moving to San Antonio in 2007. A co-worker recommended Marty and her company to me and we began using their service immediately. We have always received top service from her teams. Marty has always been incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns that we have ever had. Additionally, Marty and Nicole readily reach out to us with any questions or issues they may have identified... like when we forget to put the dog in her kennel on cleaning day! I'm always happy to come home every other Thursday after a cleaning. You'd never guess I have two teenagers and a "big hairy dog." Thanks to Marty, Nicole, and teams for a job well done.

This company is professional, the crews are well-trained and efficient, and I have no complaints. I have used many house cleaners in the past 50 years and have never received the level of service I do from Gimme A Break. Incidentally, if I have ever had any issues (and they were minor), they were corrected immediately. (After all, no one is perfect, including me, and sometime rare, minor slip ups can occur, but the service I receive from this company is as close to perfect as anyone could expect.)

I love this service! They have never let me down. They always show up on schedule, unless there is an emergency or a change due to a Holiday, but they always notify me beforehand. They arrive with all their own cleaning products, vacuum, and cleaning rags. They waste no time getting right to work. They have a great cleaning routine because they're used to doing regular cleaning services for so many people on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. They even do extra things like make your bed or load your dishwasher! I highly recommend Gimme A Break service. I have had such a great experience, they do a thorough job and I found them to be very reasonably priced. For the amount of work and sweat I would have to dedicate to cleaning my entire house every weekend, they are totally worth it! Thank you Gimme A Break!

I used this company for about 8 years and in the very beginning I was pleased. I had checked with a neighbor who was already using them. The last couple of years, however, has been a different story. Like a previous review the maids had used some cleaner that took off the finish of my shower hardware and also my toilet seats. I did address the issue but one admitted she could see the damage but that was it. I had over several years started being unhappy with the quality of the work but stayed with them anyways. I had requested to be last on a Friday for service but that was never consistent. Sometimes it was noon and sometimes they didn't show til 5 or later. Sometimes I had to call to see if they were still coming and one time I cancelled them for the day when they wouldn't be arriving until 5:30 pm on a Friday. Over time, there was no consistency in who cleaned my house with the exception of one lady. I had also straight up asked that they always send at least one English speaking person. That didn't alway happen, either, but sometimes we could halfway communicate. They wouldn't dust under anything just around things, or on top of refrigerators unless I requested it. Sometimes they would be in a hurry to finish and came in like a bull in a china store. Roughly doing things and occasionally breaking things or paintings falling off the wall, etc. I tried to overlook a lot and the last straw came recently when the maids showed up at noon, which long ago I established with them not to show before 1pm. That day I had my granddaughter over and the house just wasnt ready to give up and over to them to come in and clean. It was either clean now and not at all. When talking to Marty she was short and went on about how they are a service company, blah, blah. Never even tried to make anything work to anyone's benefit except their own. I am the customer and they the service company but weren't interested in working with me. Their way was the only way and I found Marty rude that day and with all the other things that had been going on for years I was done. I would not recommend this company now although I had early on when I first started using them.

I had a great experience with the girls from Gimme A Break. They were on time even though traffic was blocked to my neighborhood due to a traffic accident. A crew of two was sent and they got right to work. I have a big dog that sheds and a busy schedule so things tend to pile up. The girls started at the back (master bedroom) and worked their way forward. I had to leave unexpectedly during the cleaning, and they finished and locked up before I came home. When I got back the house looked great. They even got behind the toilets and blinds. The girls were polite and professional and didn't need much direction. Overall, I was thrilled with the job they did, and more thrilled that I got a break from doing it myself! I will definitely have them back!

I take no pleasure in writing this. I don?t enjoy ?dissing? a business. And I?ve seen the retorts from this company to those who have had issues; they paint them as entirely at fault for anything less than a wonderful review. But my experience was so egregious and stressful, and the damage expensive, that I also want to spare others a repeat performance. And I experienced patterns of behavior that others have cited on the site. On the high recommendation of my neighbor, I contacted this company to get set up on regular cleaning. She said she paid ?$110? with two adults, two teenagers, and a large hairy dog to clean a home identical in size and style to ours. I had the requisite thorough inspection by Nicole, the manager and owner?s daughter. She insisted they require an initial cleaning of over $300 (discounted $30 for being Angie?s List members) for everyone before starting regular service, so I agreed to that. But she wanted to charge $120 plus tax, which is about $130. I?m honestly not sure if the neighbor?s quote included tax. Despite the fact that we are retired and well into Medicare age, and despite seeing a Senior Discount mentioned for this company, none was available. Per Nicole they had just raised their prices, but were not raising the neighbor?s because she?d been a client for several years. We also have no pets; it?s just us two. While they are entitled to charge whatever they can get, I was reluctant on the price since I thought it would take less time to clean our house than the neighbor?s, yet I was paying more. Nicole agreed that our house was very well kept and that $110 would be fair, but said she needed her mother?s approval. It became more and more obvious as time went on that Nicole, however well-meaning, is not allowed to do much decision-making on her own. We finally got the first cleaning scheduled for October. It was only at the very last moment that she said she had not been able to persuade her mother to charge $110. I agreed on the price, but only with the condition that if our house took less time than the less expensive neighbor?s job, we would revisit the price issue. For regular cleanings, a team of two ladies comes, and I had the team that did my neighbor. For initial cleanings, they send an additional lady along, who headed immediately to the master bath to begin cleaning that area. The ladies seemed nice enough. The cleaning job seemed ?o.k.?, though some things were omitted or need improvement. Some I caught immediately, some not until after they left, which was after 5 p.m., since they did not come until mid-afternoon. I expected to work with them on those issues going forward. For example: Headboards, window sills, and other areas were missed in dusting. There was a heavy slimy coating on the refrigerator that I had to wipe off. Three out of four burners on the range were nonfunctional because of liquid at the base of the gas jets, and the covers were not replaced correctly. And the floors were very sticky, and made loud squeaking noises when walking with rubber-soled shoes. I gave them little treats to take with them when they left to get off on the right foot. In discussing things with the head lady of the team, I understood that they would return in 2 weeks in the afternoon. The biggest problem came when I returned to the master suite after 9 p.m. to prepare to retire and discovered much of the finish one of the sink faucets in there had been stripped away. It was originally a dark antique bronze finish, and now looked terrible. I was shocked and upset, and called the office number right away, leaving a message describing the problem and asking them to call me when they got in in the morning. They did not. So I called again during the next day and asked her to give me an email address so I could send pictures. I then sent the pictures. She gave no reason for not calling. She and owner/mother were going to come out to inspect the damage, but it took them a full week to make it out, despite the fact that mother?s community gate is only a half mile from ours. I showed both women the damage and told them again what happened. The owner said the ?third girl? used the ?wrong cleaner?, and that leaving it in contact with the faucet for hours stripped the finish. (Nicole later wrote the same thing to me in an email.) She said the girl claimed she was trained that way, but further claimed that was not true. She took photos and said she would replace the damaged faucet or refinish it to its original condition. She kept wanting to know where they came from. We bought the house at 5 years old in 2009, so I told her the builder said when the owners had the house built they chose the fixtures themselves. She?s have to ask them, and I gave her all the information, including place of employment and neighborhood of residence, of the previous owner. It only hit me later that there was nothing during the entire visit resembling a comment like, ?Gee, I?m sorry this happened.? I was, however, encouraged that they seemed to take ownership for their mistake. At this point, I was still trying to be positive and, since the woman who did the damage would not be part of the cleaning team, hoped we could salvage things. I heard nothing further from them. Without any discussion, the cleaning ladies just did not show up at the next biweekly visit. When I called Nicole, she said she thought I did not want them to come because of price, would check on scheduling and call me back. She again did not do so, but later sent an email saying since I had not yet paid for the first cleaning, they would not send them out again, and further that the women claimed they did not do any damage and that they were that way when they cleaned them, a total about-face from what the ownership had said previously. They said they would take care of the faucet as a ?public relations gesture?. So we had already established per their own statement that at least one of the team lied about her training. Now they are lying further. Nicole inspected the whole house, and we spent a goodly amount of time in the master bath. She knew very well that was NOT the condition of that faucet. It would have stuck out like a sore thumb. There was a different kind of finish issue with the other faucet (not caused by us) that I had pointed out to her when she originally came, but the faucet ?Gimme A Break? damaged was fine. And the ?third girl? was the only one in the master bath; the others worked elsewhere. And we would be crazy to pay for the initial cleaning (though I fully intended to pay for ongoing cleaning), since the damage was about twice as costly as the fee, until this got sorted out, especially since they had consistently proven they were not as good as their word. The whole thing just beggared belief. Since it was now becoming more evident by the day that we?d have to be more proactive on this, I did my own searching for replacement faucets through every outlet I could find. Ours were no longer available, so I found the closest match I could. Since there are two vanities, they would both have to be replaced. We?d just live with the fact that they would not match the other fixtures in the master bath area. Cost for two was $379.90. The handyman we use gave us an estimate of an additional $160 to install them. I wrote to Nicole and told her they had two more weeks, which meant a total of four weeks, to show some good-faith effort to get us replacements, or we would go ahead and order the closest we could and send them the bill. Again I heard nothing, so sent yet another note reminding them the deadline was up and that I would be ordering the faucets this week. In response to that, I got a link to some faucets that matched neither in color nor style to ours with the suggestion that we use the money from the cleaning to pay for the fixtures. Good for them, bad for us, because it would begin to cover the damage, which I explained. They also claimed they could not locate the previous owner. Very strange, as I Googled him and got several hits. Finally, I wrote yet AGAIN and gave them seven days to pay for the cost of the faucets alone, and we would pay for the installation, just to settle this. If this was not done, I promised to file in small claims court and charge them for faucet cost, installation and court costs. I heard nothing again. They waited until just AFTER the deadline, and put the check in the mail. In summary, it was a horrible, stressful experience that exposed some very unflattering things about this company. We?d have to give them an F.

Great. One of the best cleaning services that I have ever used.

It goes well with them. They send basically the same crew of two or three people to clean so we have become accustomed to them and they with us. The team does a really good job in a minimum amount of time, less than an hour a visit. For the cleaning we need every month, they do a very good job. Jessie, the team leader is very conscientious.

with 80% opfb our home,s floors being a hard surface i wanted the floors vaccumed before moping. Previously i offered them to use my vac's when they said their vacs were broken. But they insisted onusing a BROOM . When I complained abot them using a broom they just left without tellimg me. I have called Nicole and the office btb have not received a return call. I couln not recommend this company. Their lack of professionalism by not returning my calls is unacceptable.

GIMME A BREAK cleans 2 bathrooms (2 tubs and 2 showers); living room, dining room, bedrooms, and laundry room. I think $97 is a very reasonable price. They bring their own cleaning supplies, and I don't need to buy cleaning products at grocery - big savings! I am thrilled with the job GIMME A BREAK. After completing a job, they ask me to look around and make sure everything looks good. Wow! How often does that happen? I'm very happy with GIMME A BREAK. The owners are very gracious and want their customers to be happy,

They are thorough, consistent and honest. If there are any special cleaning requests, they always follow through. Thursday is my favorite day of the week because I come home to a spotless clean house. This means a lot to me since I work full time and have 4 kids, I do not have time to thoroughly clean my house. One of my kids is allergic to dust, and he has not had any issues for 5 years because our house is dust free due to these cleaning ladies. I couldn't live without them. they are the best cleaning service!

2 team members came to my home on time and cleaned the agreed-upon areas in my home. They occasionally change the sheets on all beds in the house, when I ask them to do it.

Marty and her team have cleaned my home for over 2 years. They do a great job. Marty is responsive and always works to accommodate any special requests. They are the best in the business!

This team of 3 women are amazing. What they can do an hour and a half blows my mind. They are sweet to my girls if we are there when they come. They even arrange the girls stuffed animals sometimes so sweetly on their beds. I have more time to spend with my girls with out feeling like I should be cleaning... This service was a Christmas gift from my husband, I am happier and more "sane" with their help. It "sparkles" as my oldest daughter says. I just love that my entire house can be clean for longer than 20 minutes. Use them for their professionalism, precision and perfection! Love love love

We hired "Gimme a Break" for the final cleaning of our house after moving out and prior to closing. 2 very hard working ladies cleaned our 3700 sq. ft. house in about 4 hours, including dusting, sweeping, moping, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning. They brought their own cleaning supplies and equipment. We were very satisfied with the work and will use them again.

I am very pleased with my "crew" of three! They are thorough, fast and pleasant. I have been using them since mid November, and selected them because of their reviews on Angie's List.
