+ -1 moreThe pilot flame on my Wall Furnace would not stay lit. Doug relit the pilot flame, removed the front panel, checked all switches and replaced the thermalcouple. After Doug got the furnace working and left, the pilot flame went out again. He came back, relit the pilot flame and again made a thorough check of the unit. Doug is very professional and polite. He came back as soon as he could the same day to get my furnace working. I have used George Plumbing Company for many years and appreciate the fact that they send a plumber out as soon as possible.

They come out and give me an estimate. They stick to the estimate; there's no going back and forth. Their prices are pretty compatible with everybody else. I can probably find people that are cheaper, but I'm not going to get quality. They are probably one of the few people I would use again.

Description of Work: I am a residential building contractor in San Antonio. We perform an unlimited number of maintenance, repair, and remodeling services. I have worked with George plumbing many times and will continue to do so. Most recently they cleared a bathtub drain, repaired a leaking bathroom sink, secured two water heater expansion tanks in the attic, replaced the water heater water lines that were worn, installed a dishwasher, and examined the irrigation system for proper operation making adjustments where necessary.

+ -1 moreThey were superb. They were here for four days. We got a ten percent discount from Angie's List. They had good ratings on Angie's List. There was water oozing out of the brick and it took them a long time to isolate it. They did finally fix it. They actually went out their way to rearrange the schedule, so that they could get over here and fix it. I can't say enough good things about them. Their price would have been much higher because they were here for so long. Their rate per hour for smaller jobs like this is $150 but they did it for me for $106 because they were here for many hours. They wrote me the most detailed invoice that I have ever seen from any contractor. It was exactly what they did to locate and isolate to fix the leak. They also said, if my insurance company had any questions, they would be happy to talk to them. I can't say enough good things about them. Additionally, they are very pleasant and polite people to deal with. They don't do anything without asking.

+ -1 moreWater was gushing all over my patio. The repairman thought it might have been the result of a frozen pipe. The spigot in question is also attached to my pool for filling. The man wanted to disconnect this and install a whole new set-up. When I objected, he told me I could fill the pool with a garden hose (absurd... the water supply for my pool & filters & waterfall system were all regulated by this faucet). I suppose he thought I should stand and hose the waterfall effect too... Since this happened on another outside faucet to me before, I told him to remove the section as observed and repair as simply as possible. I already had some other work scheduled but I'd called because it was an immediate emergency & he was available. Even so, he charged $280. When this had happened before (an outside faucet elsewhere), the charge was $85 by another plumber.
Description of Work: Outdoor spigot broke. Guy came and fixed it. Although I'd thought I'd use him for some indoor plumbing problems, I ascertained soon enough that he assumed I was an older woman in an expensive neighborhood who was ready to pay anything for services that were not needed. So, I limited my rerquest to just that one problem.

+ 0 moreWe called them and they sent out a plumbing team as soon as they had a slot. The guys in the office were awesome and remembered who I was when I called back. The job took 3 hours and they did an excellent job of teaching me about the softener.
Description of Work: The guys came out and installed a water softner that I had purchased online... No one else in town would install it.. The team talked to me and my father about the installation and came out to the house ASAP. My husband had just deployed to Afghanistan and the water softner arrived one day before he left the country. The service was done professionally, efficiently and very clean. We couldn't be happier. They also set up a follow on contractor to take care of the RO unit we had purchased. They didn't have the right tool bit to,cut through the quartz countertop. Love this company and would use their services again any time!

+ 0 moreIt went great! Very good company. They are on the expensive side but I felt it was worth it. Especially since the plumber Doug was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail.
Description of Work: Doug came out to repair and find a leak that we believed was in our main water line. He immediately identified the leak and said it was in the sprinkler system. We have a warranty on our sprinkler system. Since he was already out and we were paying for half an hour he went ahead and found the leak for us. He was very knowledgeable. Obviously is one of the best! He explained everything and work a detailed work order so we knew exactly what to tell the warranty company. He didn't try to have us get his company to fix it. When we thought it was something more simple I was considering just doing the repair. As soon as he found that it is a valve he suggested we call the warranty company since it will save us quite a bit of money. I like companies that aren't pushy!

+ 0 moreIn setting up the appointment they asked lots of questions in order to have the correct parts for the older pump. Two gentlemen arrived on time and quickly fixed our problem. They looked over the entire pump and recommended not replacing it. It was determined that the water pressure from the curb into the house was part of our problem and they adjusted that for us.
Description of Work: They fixed a leaky gasket on an old water pump.

Where George and his staff really shined was afterwards when we were told by the home inspection company that the dishwasher drain was not in fact fixed. We sent George the report and he responded that day by email with a detailed explanation of what was done and how it was in fact fixed. This was exactly what we needed! If we were still living in San Antonio, we would totally yell for George again whenever we had a problem.
Description of Work: Minor repairs including adding 90 degree elbows to drain hoses in water heaters, modified dishwasher pump system, fixed gaps in sealant around hose bibs.

In no time they had identified all problems and had them corrected! They were great and I will definitely call them in the future for any plumbing needs and would not hesitate to refer family or friends to them.
Description of Work: There was a leak under the sink in my laundry room and a bathroom drain that was clogged. Outside, one of the hose bibbs was worn out and leaking. In addition to this, I had just had a new refrigerator installed and there was a leak where the ice maker was attached.

They even let my husband help out with some of the stuff so we could save a few bucks (like some minor digging). We even liked the thank-you card they sent afterward.
Description of Work: Replaced a broken pressure regulator valve, added a main water shut off, fixed a minor leak in our laundry room, tightened our toilet bolts, added a water heater expansion tank.

Not only do they service my pipes but they also check my furnace to check for carbon monoxide. My overall experience has been wonderful and I will continue to use them.
Description of Work: I was having issues with my toilet pipes. The pipes would rattle extremely hard. I called George Plumbing and they replaced some piping and also strapped the pipes so it does not rattle anymore. They also discovered a leak that I didn't know about.

Description of Work: I had two water heaters to replace in my home. I called Clay at George Plumbing, explained the problems, and received an estimate for the replacement of both units. In light of their reasonable all-inclusive prices for both units and the $100 discount, I elected to utilize their services. I was able to make an appointment on the day I desired. The first water heater was easily accessed via a walk-in attic on the second floor. The second was more difficult and was located in the roof attic via a pull-down attic ladder. Lee and his assistant, Brian, arrived within 30 minutes of the phone call notifying me of their departure for my home. They disas-sembled both tanks, drained the water, and then installed the new water heaters. The unit located in the roof attic was removed via a rope and pulley system; the replacement unit was handled in the same way. I found their work very professional, and the job was accomplished sooner than I had expected. In addition, I developed a kitchen faucet leak the day before their arrival. I called Clay, and he felt that this repair could also be accomplished with the same visit. Lee had difficulty in finding the leak, but re-organized the various hoses underneath the sink that were kinked, which may have contributed. These hoses were replaced as well as several connectors. In addition, he re-adjusted the position of the weight for my pull-out spigot. He also inspected the inside of the faucet to insure that the cylinder did not need replacing. Overall, this was a professional job for a reasonable price as compared to the competitors. In addition, both Lee and Brian are very friendly and willing to educate the homeowner.

+ -1 moreMaking the appointment was easy, but the individuals were unable to hit the appointment time (missed it by 90 minutes). However, when I found out that they had run into problems with a plumbing problem that required them to be under the foundation of the home, I cut them some slack. To their credit, they contacted me before the appointment window and stayed in contact with me until they arrived. The first two problems I mentioned above they took care of for no charge. They only charged me for the third problem and even then I was expecting to pay more. The individuals were clean, friendly and expert. I would not hesitate to call them again.
Description of Work: We had three issues. The first was a leak coming from the hot water line for a bathroom sink. The second was an exposed outdoor pipe too close to the house to easily insulate. The third was a leaky hose bib.
