This company will not set up a specific appointment time for a repairman to come out, nor will they give you a window of time, during which they will arrive, until after 9:00am the day they come, so you cannot make plans to go anywhere or do anything else on that day, except sit and wait. Pretty much a guessing game as to when they will come, until shortly before they show up. The repairman did call 20 minutes before he arrived, but then whizzed past me to the kitchen without eye contact or identifying himself. Immediately starting huffing and grumbling about how he didn't know how he was going to get the stovetop out. About 45 minutes later, he finished, and handed me a bill for $222.09!!! $75 service call for which they will not make an appointment - only give you the day they are coming - and none of which applies to their bill. $70 for 45 minutes labor. $124.08 for a switch. Total $222.09!!! Seems extremely high for a 45 minute job and a small switch, but the unfriendly grumpiness of the repairman was the worst! He wanted an additional $25 (plus $85/hr labor charge) just to look behind the refrigerator and make sure that the ice-maker connection was still hooked up to the wall and had not come loose. I could not get this company out of my house fast enough. I would NOT recommend them to ANYONE!!

It's extremely poor. It took probably three months to get the microwave repaired and they never repaired it. I would not use them again in the future.

Return phone calls were not returned...I had to call them. Arrangement was made for family member to be at my house to wait for repairman. Their company was aware of this when I scheduled appt. msg left on my phone stating that they were in route and to call them back, but since I was at work...msg not received until an hour later. (which is why I had someone at my house waiting for their arrival). Called them back at that point and the receptionist said she would call repairman and call me back. She did not call back until next. by that point...I had already found another repair company. Seems to be a disconnect between office staff and repairman. Total wasted day for my family member. Would not use them for repairs in future.

Description of Work: I called General Service Co. to fix two problems I was (& still am) having with my refrigerator. First, the ice maker was(& is) leaking water into the bin where the ice cubes get deposited and so all the ice cubes get frozen together into a solid ice chunk. Second problem is that the water dispenser in the door flows so slowly it takes literally 60-90 seconds to fill a glas of water. I explained these 2 issues to the technician and he started to pull the frig out away from the wall and also take the ice maker apart, so far so good. He asked me to "clean the area behind the refrigerator before he would step behind it, which I did. (Maybe he has allergies or something.). I noticed he had brought 2 parts in with him assuming he had guessed from my phone call he knew what the problem would be. Then I noticed he had already filled in the price of these parts on the invoice, hmmm not a good sign. He asked if I wanted him to replace the water filter cartridge and my answer was no because I had just done that at the beginning of the month and it only needs replacing every 6 months. He couldn't explain why the water flow to the door was so slow and asked if the water pleasure throughout the house was good. I told him yes it was but he still had no idea why it was so low in the water dispenser. He suggested I call a plumber. Moving on to problem number 2, the iceberg in the ice maker! He picked up the part he brought in with him saying it was a valve that controlled the water that filled the ice cube tray. If he replaced it, the problem of the leaking should be solved. I told him that some of the ice cubes it made were hollow and that was a new problem too. He said he had no idea why that would happen. Not a good sign! He replaced the valve put everything back together and started to fill in the invoice. He again asked if I was "sure" I didn't want him to change the filter for me while he was there. I told him again that I had just changed it and I didn't feel that it was necessary. (Especially for $35.!) I saw that he was charging me for both a $75 service call & $50 in labor along with the $80 valve. When I questioned why I was being charged for both labor and a service call his response was, "I could have charged more for the labor"! Wow, that was rude! I told him that I understood that he was not responsible for the charges his employer set but that I felt it was a ripoff to charge for both labor and a service call. He had no response and just looked at me as if he hadn't heard my complaint. Seeing that he was ready to go, I showed him to the door and wished him good luck with his other calls that afternoon. Unfortunately for me, the new valve didn't even fix the leaking water into the ice maker. When I looked in later that evening, there was the old familiar iceberg! So $214.21 later, non of my problems were solved. :(

Steve arrived on time, prepared and ready to rectify any problem with my stove leak. He used a Gas Sniffer saying that it detected the smell of gas and would help pinpoint the location of the leak. He found it at the pipe connecting to the stove. Turned the gas off, removed the pipe and discovered that the plumber's tape had come loose. He re-taped and connected the pipe, used his neat Gas Sniffer and no more leak. I originally called another plumber who used soap and couldn't find the leak, said that it was probably in the wall and need to do a gas pressure test which would cost $556 and would have to tear out the wall to fix it. I was floored. I couldn't believe that the test could be that expensive and that he wasn't going to do anything else to find the leak so I paid for the service call $39.95 and asked him to leave. Then I found Steve through my appliance service number. The warranty covered the cost of the service, all $91.00 so I had to pay nothing.
Description of Work: Technician checked stove for gas leaks and fixed it.

The washing machine got fixed, but I had to cancel the service request for the dishwasher due to the company's inability to schedule their technicians and provide a reasonable time frame ahead of time. For the washer, they were not giving me the time frame when the technician would come, so I gave them the time at which I had to leave for work. The technician showed up a few minutes AFTER my deadline. For the dishwasher, they never gave me a time frame the day before. In the morning the technician showed up at my door, but I was outside and didn't hear the knock. I checked the phone messages about an hour later after finishing my yard work and had a message the technician had been at the door. When they tried to get back in touch with the technician to find out when he could come to fix the dishwasher, he remained unreacheable for the next 4 hours. I had to go to work and had to cancel the service. This cost me more than half a day of work time waiting for a company that can't figure out a business model for scheduling reasonable appointments and giving notice to clients. Amy on the phone was not very helpful and seemed like she doesn't care that their lack of scheduling capability is causing major inconveniences for clients. I would never use them again and I have submitted a review to the home warranty company.
Description of Work: I use a home warranty company and they assigned this provider twice, for my washing machine and for the dishwasher. I got service on the washing machine but had to cancel service on the dishwasher.

Sadly, I still have a broken oven. I waited until it was too late to call the company today, and I do not wish to waste any more time waiting on them to show up.
Description of Work: 11 years ago, this company repaired my wall oven under warranty, and I was very pleased with the service. When my oven quit, I called them to repair it again. The service call has gone from $45 to $70, but I decided to go with a company that had previously given me good service, rather than look for someone new. I called on 2/23/12 and was told the soonest someone could come out was 2/27/12. I told them that I could not be home before 2:30, and she said she'd make a note of it on my service order. I came home on 2/27 and had a phone message from Connie at 1:48 saying that if I didn't call back in 10 minutes, the technician would not be able to come. I called back at 2:35 and she said that she was unaware of my scheduling conflict and could reschedule for 2/29/12. I again stated that I needed service after 2:30. I was home by 2:35 on 2/29, and no one ever called or came to repair my oven. I will not be calling back to reschedule.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this company and the very professional serivce they have provided over the past 2 years. We initially contacted this company to fix the shoddy work performed by another company on several of our appliances. The technician, Steve, is very knowledgeable and professional. He always tries to fix a part before just ordering a new one which has saved us money on more than one occasion. We trust this company and Steve implicitly and will only call him when we need repairs done.

Service man (Victor) arrived on day 1 to analyze the problem and charged $81.00. He ordered parts and was to return early the next day to make the repairs. Day 2 - he did not show up. When I called him, he said that he was given some extra calls that day so would be out the next day early. Day 3 - he arrived in the afternoon, claiming he had emergencies he had to call on first. He replaced a circuit board. The washer started to work, then all the lights on it went off. He said it needed another part. He ordered the part and set us up for an early appointment the next morning. Day 4 - he called and said that he had a couple of emergencies and would not be out until the afternoon. I was upset and said I would call the office to complain. He told me not to call and that he would call and straighten it out. He never called back. I finally called the office and was told that Victor set his own schedule. Victor subsequently denied this. I left several messages for the owner Steve Golla, which were never returned. When Victor did not show up by 3:00 I contacted him and he told me my service call had been cancelled. Why I do not know. He agreed to come out the next day. After a couple more phone calls, I finally decided to sever relations with General Services and called another service organization.

Terrible. I called Jenn-Air initially because I suspected the necessary part was still under warranty, and they directed me to this company. After telling the service representative the nature of the problem, she scheduled a service call. It took them 2 tries to get the time right for the service. When they finally showed up, the service guys had no knowledge of the problem with the oven, didn't have a pencil to fill out their work receipt, spent most of the hour talking on their cell phones, and were rude and inconsiderate of my wife and 16-month-old daughter. They stated they would have to order the part, and that it would be ready in 10-14 days (they wrote this on the receipt). We're still waiting one month later. Today we called to check the status of the part order. The receptionist was rude and condescending to my wife, and the supervisor stated that the part is not manufactured, and they are not sure when it will arrive. I will never use this company again for any work.
Description of Work: Oven repair of a Jenn-Air builder-installed oven requiring an electronic part. The part in question is the numeric key-pad by which you enter the temperature at which you want to set the oven (ie, 400, or 350 degrees, etc). None of the numeric keys are working, therefore we cannot use the oven.
