I filed a complaint against him, which is still being worked on. I think he will be sanctioned, and he was already sanctioned by the Texas Board of Engineers for another project. I would warn anybody not to use him. This guy is not a reliable engineer. He will basically write a letter for the contractor without the contractor doing the work. He was sanctioned for that. I'm still working on having him sanctioned for the work on our property. The only contract I have with him now is through his attorney at the Texas Board of Engineers. He ripped us off in cahoots with the foundation company. All of the work needed to be ripped out because it wasn't acceptable engineering practice. We had a forensic engineer look at it, and he said even worse things about the job. He said it was non-traditional, that it wasn't even foundation repairs. We told them that we wanted city permits and that we wanted the job done according to code. We were in California when they did the job. I went to talk to the city inspector, and it turns out that they approved the job solely based on the letter the engineer had written. When we showed them the work, they pulled the permit and left us to deal with Gaytan. It takes years to get through the system. The holes hadn't been digged deep enough, and later on that same day, the inspector said the job was finished. There were really sketchy things going on, not just with the engineer and the contractor, but with the city involved. This is why I joined Angie's List. We know him to be dishonest.
Description of Work: He was hired as an engineer with a foundation company to work on the foundation.

He gave it an OK originally and the city accepted his letter. When we came back from our vacation we realized that the work done was not OK. We showed the city pictures and they contacted him and made him issue another report. He did and this time the city denied him. The work done on the foundation was horrible. He didn't do his proper job and lied to the city about the work that had been done. I would warn others to stay away from him.
Description of Work: This is the engineer who we hired to come out and inspect the work done on our foundation.
