 + 0 moreSpent 40,000 on a pool wasn't installed correctly. Tried for month to get them to fix it. They would not. Hired a lawyer spent another 19,000 and Gary L Zars filed bankruptcy. It was a personal bankruptcy so I walked away. years later the BBB contacted me by certified mail that Mr. Zars wanted to settle the case. We did a binding arbitration and won back 9733 of our costs to fix the pool. Mr. Zar's will not pay us and sent us a ridiculous letter that we didnt go through his bankruptcy attorney in 30 days so he owes us nothing. The arbitration was done with Gary's Pool and Patio not him personally and we have on recording that this had nothing to do with his bankruptcy. Do not buy from this man or his company.
Description of Work: Gary Zars owner is a crook and a liar. Do not use this company. They do not stand by their contact or their work.

 + 0 moreWe were awarded $9733 of our costs minus our attorneys fees and Mr. Zar's was given 30 days to make payment arrangements. He did not do that and is ignoring calls and certified emails from the BBB about the agreement. He is a liar and a crook.
Description of Work: I had a pool installed 2011. The ground was not excavated properly and the pool shifted. All of the flagstone coping fell off and I had to have it replaced $19,000 later. I tried suing Mr. Zar's owner of the business and he filed personal bankruptcy. I walked away. 6 years later Sept of 2017 he contacted us to settle the matter and we did a binding arbitration with the BBB.

 + -1 moreHe was professional and he gave me good information about pools in general as far as fiber glass and concrete are concerned, their differences. He was quick and always returned my calls. He always checked up on me to see if there were more questions I wanted answered.

 + -1 moreVery displeased with the service. We had problems because they turned in the wrong design, dug hole on the wrong side which set us back a couple more weeks. We have had to replace 3 pumps since.

Description of Work: I had used Gary's a few years ago to replace a filter, with good results. When I needed work on multiport valve, pump and other items, I called them first. They no-showed twice, without calling. On the two days we scheduled service, I called their service department several times throughout the day and was assured by the service manager that they would be coming but were running late, and they never showed. After two days of waiting for technicians who did not show, the service manager offered no explanation or apology. If they had had better communication and offered to reschedule, I might have used them, but the manager was rude and expects hardworking customers to be at the beck and call of the pool repair team. Will never use them again. Maintenance of equipment that they installed and customer service seem to be their lowest priorities.

 + -1 moreThe job is very bad I would not hire this company to take my trash out,I and my husband have talked with them only to be promised that someone would call and no one has. We have also talked with Mr.GAry Zars and he has also told us stuff thats has not been true,We feela sif they are trying to get out of fixing what the contractor the used messed up. They sent us the contractors liability insurance which was expired before they even started work at our home. Gary's pools and {Patios should have known that there contractors insurance was expired.
Description of Work: Gary's pools and Patios installed a 16x32 fiberglass pool at our home included in the $24000 price was 3 feet of concrete and brick coping, the pump lights filter start up chemicals. We were happy with what we were getting the process took us a while to decide and get financing from our credit union but once we did we decided to use Gary's pools and patio. They started the work on Nov 5,2011 the men that came out to dig and place the pool in the ground were great the problem started with the coping and concrete, the people were a joke they showed up and then took break before they started working then they would work for a couple of hours then leave they would not show up when they said they would, my husband took several days off work only to wait arounf=d for the crew to show up and they would not come.The finish product is a mess I have several pictures to show what kind of work they do

 + -1 moreWe have a yearly contract with Gary for our pool service and repairs. We pay a set price yearly. They come quarterly to inspect things for us. If something needs to be replaced, we are not charged since we have a service agreement. They even replaced a new pump for us a few years ago at no charge. I really like this service. It keeps things running efficiently and alerts us to a possible problem before one occurs. The company is very knowledgeable, professional and punctual. We are pleased with the excellent customer service we receive.
Description of Work: In the fall, we had our quarterly inspection of our pool system by Gary Zars Pools. This includes a complete maintenance check, the filters are back washed, debris traps are cleaned and the pool is cleaned very thoroughly that day. They check all equipment, motors and pumps to make sure everything is running properly.

 + -1 moreGary Pools Design Center did the most ridiculous job I have ever seen. These guys were absolutely terrible in every way. I would have thought that they would of done a better job for as much as it cost. They took five times longer than it was suppose to and it didn't seem like a big deal to them. In the end, we did get a pool that operates but it definitely didn't turn out as we wanted or was told it would. They should up late all the time and went to break continuously. I would not recommend this company at all.
Description of Work: They built my fiberglass in ground pool.
