Garden Ridge

I went back to the store (you can't call them) and found the general manager. He finally refunded my $20, but it was much too hard for them to correct an error. Their return policy is not customer friendly. If you shop there, you had better guard your receipt with your life and make sure that you do not let the date for return expire.

I purchased some outdoor bamboo shades to block the afternoon sun from the patio area in my home. Unfortunately, after I opened them and started to install them I discovered they were useless because the slats were to far apart to block the sun. I went back to the store to see if I could find a different style. I did and purchased another set. These seemed to work better. I went to the store to get a refund on the original ones I had purchased and although I had a receipt I was told they were not theirs since they did not have more of that style in stock. When I showed the cashier the tag which had the Garden Ridge label on them she switched her tune and said I could not return them since I had opened the packaging. I explained the situation to her and even showed her proof that I had purchased another set. She still refused. I asked to talk to the manager and was told to go back to the store to try to find her because she was too busy to come to the register. By this time I was fuming so I said no, it was her job as store manager to come handle this. She never came because the cashier said she was too busy unloading stock. I left and wrote to the CEO, VP, Area Manager, and store manager as well. No one responded to my request for help. Their customer service line only responded by repeating their return policy. When I tried to call the store I reached a answering system with no means to talk to a real person. This company does not care about their customers and has the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I will NEVER shop their again. By the way, the shades I kept fell apart within 3 months of use.
