Went great!. They came out and gave me an estimate of the work the day after I called. I called back a 6 days later when I was ready to have the work done. I expected an appointment a few days to a week out, but they were at my house in less than an hour. The plumber and his helper were very polite and professional (Albert and Chris). They didn't mind me watching over their shoulder, but I tired to give them their space. They answered every question I had -- even questions about additional work that I told them I was doing myself. Now that is what I like! -- not in job protection mode, but wanting to help anyway they can. They were more than willing to make adjustments to the work they did at my request. At first I thought the price was a little high (but on par with other plumbers I contacted). After them spending extra time to make sure it was right (there were a couple of minor unexpected kinks) and answering all my questions and not charging any extra from the original estimate, I got a good value!

The hose to our kitchen faucet got a crack in it and started leaking. The faucet is about 12-13 years old and I could not find that the manufacturer was even making this specific type of faucet any longer, so I figured the hose may be difficult to replace. Lowes & Home Depot no longer carried the part but Five Star was able to locate a 'universal' hose to this faucet. I think the price was fair and reasonable. We have used them in the past and will continue to do so. I am having them provide a bid to clear my french drains next.

I could not ask for anything more from an after hours provider. They were quick to respond, quick to resolve the issue and resonably priced. I definitely recommend and will use in the future if a plumbing issue ever arises again.

The plumber called 15 minutes prior to arrival at the scheduled time. He provided an outline of work he would perform and provided a quote for the work. Completed the job in a professional manner for the cost quoted. Sent me an invoice via e-mail. Followed up with a phone call to ensure we received good service.

A 2" water main that feeds a 4-plex I own was leaking. 5 Star came recommended to me by a friend who manages several properties. I was told about the water leak at 4pm on a friday. I immediately called 5 star and they said they'd have someone out soon. I was occupied and didn't have time to run down Angie's list for other quotes but since I had a similar situation in the past I was expecting roughly the same price - $350. WhenI had a chance I began contacting other companies but it was already a couple of hours later and I could not get anyone else out until the next morning. In the meantime, 5 Star did show up as promised. They quoted me $1850. I told them I thought that was crazy and that I've had a repair like that done before for $350. They said that's the best they could do because it was a 2" pipe and said they could not get parts until the next day. I took the opportunity to call about 10 other companies on Angies List and set up meetings for first thing the next morning. The company I went with met me on sight at 8am, and fixed the pipe by 10:30 which included running to Home Depot and back. The pipe had disconnected from the 90 elbo attached to it because it was apparently not pushed in an glued well in the first place. They charged me $350 and I have not had trouble in the month since it's been fixed.
