This may be the worst painter I've ever used. I used them 1.5 years ago, and have to look at the quality of their work daily, and continue to get angry about it. I had them paint my living room and kitchen of a 6 month old home. When I met with the estimator, I specifically requested they mask everything off and make clean lines. We'll, they didn't. They didn't mask anything. They tried to make clean lines using their paint brush only, which doesn't work. The connection to the base boards is horrific - the line is all over the place. They splattered paint all over the flooring and furniture, which I'm still trying to get off. The worst part is they had to come back THREE TIMES just to finish the job. I sent photos to the estimator daily of the and poor quality nothing was fixed. I finally had to release the work because we had to move our furniture in. I don't recommend anybody use them. If I can spare one homeowner with this review, it is worth it. I am debating now to hire a new company to fix the job.

Outstanding work! We highly recommend them. I can't remember the dates or price of the service as the work was done in 2014.

Javier (the owner) oversaw the entire job. After meeting with Javier about 3 times, I decided to hire them for the job and allow them to come start work while I was on vacation. He also included a 1 hour meeting with a designer, free of charge, to assist with our project. I was trusting him for a week while I was gone. It was a great success! The owner and the crew were very trustworthy and they were extremely detailed. When I got home, they weren't finished, but instead of coming back from vacation to them still working inside, Javier paid for a hotel room for my wife and I so we didn't have to unpack amidst the job! This was very unusual and generous! The inside took 1 week, including covering wallpaper. The outside took about a week as well. They did an expert job of applying the colors we had selected. The work was very well done. I was impressed with my 1 year warranty. My wife and I couldn't be more happy. If I could, I would give them an A++!

They were fine. They did a good job as far as the walls, but on another part of the job they did not seem very professional.

The crew showed up early on the first day and got right to work with the pressure washing and caulking/patching work. We did have to ask the crew to go back and wash again as the painters started painting in one part of the house well before the washing had been done. They seemed a little too eager to get the painting done but we wanted to make sure it was done right. They completed in a day and a half but we noticed that we will have to have them return to caulk many places that were missed that had to be reached with a ladder, and they may not have stirred the paint as the areas where they went back to paint by hand where the sprayer can't neatly reach look like a different color of paint. With the heavy rain this week I am not sure when they will be able to correct the issue. Also, white caulk was wiped in a number of different places on our wooden fence and not cleaned up yet. There is paint on the door handles that was not cleaned off. They began the job on May 17, 2014.

Javier was very professional from the start and concerned with providing a good job. His crew is prompt and works hard. They are also very neat and good with the cleanup. The only area that could possibly be improved is a bit more attention to small details such as wiping the excess paint off of the door hinges and around door hardware. That being said, Javier and the crew are quick to address any concerns you may have and to make changes or corrections. They even did some repair work on a previously patched area of the soffit and roof and the results are wonderful. It is important to Javier that his customers are pleased with the end result. I found very few touch ups to be made and I have a 3000 Sq ft, 2 story house. Javier sent the crew right back over and every detail was addressed. I will definitely use Five Star for future painting projects! To work with a business owner who takes pride in his work and ensures the customer's satisfaction is an absolute delight.

With his roll-away bag, Javier unloaded a laptop and portable printer. He proceeded through the house in great detail, and set clear and specific expectations. Then he produced a quote--not an estimate, a quote for job completion and satisfaction. I was sold. From the start to completion, Javier and his team were terrific: courteous, professional, and punctual. What minor details were missed (it was a big house and a big job), Javier and his painters addressed quickly and to total satisfaction. AND, what changes I made along the way, Javier was accommodating and very fair. I'd hire him again!

Javier and his team did an excellent job. They were courteous and on time and are very trustworthy. I left them alone in the house to complete the work while I was at the office without any issues. They returned promptly a couple of weeks after the job without complaint to do some minor touch ups on things I noticed after they left. I'd highly recommend Javier and Five Star Painting.

They did an average job. They did what they were supposed to do but they just did not do an excellent job.

Javier (owner) was super friendly and started work ASAP after paint was chosen. (I felt a little rushed to chose the paint though.) It took 3 days to paint the entire house and everyday, I or my husband came and unlocked the front door for the painters. Day one, arrived on time as agreed (8 am). Day two, they didn't show up till 9:45 am and we didn't want to leave our house unlocked with no one here. Day three, I ended up leaving by 9 am because I couldn't be late for work again - our house was left unmanned for who knows how long? The final, overall result looked good at initial walk-through. I had to point out several areas in the baseboards where the painters did not caulk the corners so the paint was already cracking. When pointed out to the painters, the response from them was almost put out so I only had them correct some corners, not all. At the time, we had not moved into the house yet until that following weekend and that's when I noticed the lack of care when painting & in clean up. The walls looked great (except baseboards - mentioned above) but I noticed that paint was dripped on tile in numerous rooms, paint was dripped all over countertops and a door knob, and some paint drips were in the 2nd and 3rd bedroom, on the carpet. They left the wallpaper scraps stuck to the tile floor in both the bathrooms. We had a tile cleaning company come out to remove. Fast forward two weeks later when we had the new flooring installed. I called Javier and scheduled a time for the quarter round to be painted. The painter shows up and I guess he figured it was going to be a small job because when my husband showed him what was to be completed, the painter responded with a curse word, in Spanish. Then there was no care in painting the quarter round. Oil based paint was dripped on, painted on, etc on our brand new and very costly floors. No blue tape was used, no edger, nothing...just free handed. We were furious. I felt we could have done a better job ourselves. We spent several hours trying to remove the paint from the floor and unfortunately, we could not get it all off. Spoke to Javier and he wanted to send out someone to use a paint remover but we declined. We didn't want to take a chance in ruining the floors anymore. Javier was trying to rectify the situation but by that time, we were done and just wanted to finish moving into our home. I would not recommend them to family or friends.

Scheduled a meeting for estimate via email and call back was almost instant. Mr. Loya arrived on time as scheduled. He was very professional, informative and experienced. Once estimate was given, Mr. Loya was available by phone and text and prompt to respond throughout our business engagement. Mr. Loya was aware of my budget and was extremely fair and generous to provide a outstanding service and very pleasant experience that didn't break the bank. I would highly recommend his services. I would definitely do business with Mr. Loya and Five Star painting.

They were finished in a very timely fashion. Very neat. Done by brush and rollers, not sprayed. I was very pleased and will be calling them back for some exterior painting.

The first day of painting, my wife and I were there at 7:50 am to let the workers in at 8:00. The crew was there waiting for us. The first day we stayed the whole day, but decided standing around all day was not what we wanted to do so we arranged to have a key placed in a lock box our realtor had lent us. The workers would let themselves in each morning, and we would make spot visits during the day. Javier was there periodically, and we would note things that needed correction or redoing. I had, prior to the painters' coming, removed all switch plates from the walls and many of the air vents. When Javier had first arrived, we told him we wanted all the other vents removed from the ceiling before they painted. We then washed the vents and plates ourselves prior to putting them back on after the painting was completed. The removal of the plates was something I don't think Javier's crew would have done without being requested. (They didn't when they painted my daughter's house.) The painting went well and was completed within the required time and budget constraints. During the whole time Javier was frequently at the job site and quickly addressed any of our complaints. He also inspected the work closely and had the problems that he spotted fixed.During this same week, my daughter needed her house painted during spring break, and the painter she had hired did not show up (Another report on Angie's List). We asked Javier to see if he could paint my daughter's house as well as ours at the same time. He gave her an estimate, matching her previous painter's labor-only estimate and including the paint as well. So Javier had to split his crew to paint both houses. He accomplished both jobs within the time frame and within the estimates.After they finished painting the interior, I asked him to estimate painting the trim on our new house. I wanted the job done after the trim paint color was approved by the Homeowner's Association and before I had the guttering put up, a period of one day. His crew did the job quickly and well for an additional $400. I was planning to do the trim myself, but the time constraints were too tight. I was pleased that Javier and his crew could do the job for me.During this five-day period of painting, Javier was with us frequently, and we talked a lot about a variety of subjects. He was friendly, polite, and a fun person to work with. His workers were always polite and friendly, even those who did not speak English well. He had not insisted on a partial payment, and we paid by check when the job was completed to our satisfaction. Javier assured us that if we had any problem with the painting and needed any touch up he would be happy to do it without additional charge. In conclusion, we were very happy with his work and will have him back when we need additional painting.
